Ever since Ben Brode himself declared that there aren't any good decks, and the ones that might exist are as real as a "Unicorn", it's become quite evident that Blizzard has set their eyes on Priest, and are working to improve it. With the drastic improvements given to Shaman in WoG, pretty much everyone expects Priest to get good, if not the best cards this expansion.
But here's my question, considering that Priest is in an utterly unplayable state at the moment (in which even a single deck struggles to reach Tier 3), what happens if Priest gets bad cards again? What happens if they want to give us "fun" cards like Herald Volazj, or overcosted cards like Power Word: Tentacles, or simply downright unplayable cards like Shadow Word: Horror. What happens then... do Priest players have a Plan B or a "Press If All Goes Wrong" Button?
Or will the class continue to be bad for 4-5 whole months?
Then I'll continue playing wild, where Priest is as strong as ever.

Look, I want to tell you something because you're very dear to me. And I hope you understand that it comes from the bottom of my damaged, damaged heart. You are the finest piece of ass I've ever had and I don't care who knows it. I am so glad that I got to roam those hillsides.
I think its also an issue of waiting for other classes' OP cards to rotate out. when BRM and LOE rotate out, that is truly when the clean slate will begin and the best shot for the meta to slow down. (barring any aggro nonsense in the final expansion of the year)
Because even if they get 3 high quality cards (they wont) it still wont be enough to carry them out of this aggressive meta. There are way too many pieces in other classes that easily make them OP, while the stars have to align to make the control class work in this environment.
Priest is a control class. There's no changing that, and in this meta a control deck barely stands a chance.
For priest to become more viable again, they need better removal. Simple as that. Once lightbomb rotated out, priest started struggle even more. It has no real AOE anymore. Holy Nova doesnt get the job done anymore, and excavated evil is just a worse hellfire at this point, which still doesnt get the job done.
I think Priest has it's best chance with N'Zoth, so a powerful deathrattle card would help. Also a powerful AoE spell would really help too. Together they might not make the class top tier, but it'll help it be more competitive and give the class a chance.
RIP Standard for Priest if they get no good cards in this adventure.... Priest players have to go to Wild mode, collect the pieces and put them together to build a better deck than previous ones. I guess we can keep improving Priest in Wild mode until it becomes Priest mode one day....... hopefully not too far away.
To be honest, I'm not gonna be surprised if Priest gets the same response in this expansion to people complaining about it being too underpowered that Shaman did in League of Explorers. I can never stop laughing at all the people who complain about all the overpowered Shaman cards when so much of the community was demanding stronger Shaman cards. If anything, they should be thankful for Flamewreathed Faceless and Thing From Below.
*Sigh* Unfortunately for me, Priest is one of the last golden heroes I need. I swear, it'll take forever. Hopefully Priest finds at least one little gem this adventure that can push it even the slightest bit above garbage-tier.
To be quite honest, nothing of value will be lost, strong or weak, Priest always has been infuriating and mental-fatiguing to play against, you play minions they remove it, you play minions they steal it, every single game just goes on and on and on, even if you win, you don't feel good about it; and if you lose after a 20 min. game you don't even feel like playing any more. This isn't being salty or anything, Priest was never even popular and i actually enjoy playing it in Wild sometimes but in my opinion it's the most unhealthy class and design in the game. I prefer playing against Aggro Shamans or Derp Warriors.
Priest needs a few more solid cards in the core-set, if not they'll be forever reliant on expansions to not screw them over (and we know this happened with WoG). I'm not saying enough to build entire decks, but just a solid core base.
Just look at hunter now, which is basically completely dependent on CotW to have any traction.
Well, it looks like Warlock is the butt-monkey class of Kara with all those stupid discard archetype cards that nobody asked for. Perhaps they are saving the Priest cards because they are reeeeeaaaaaaallly fucking special - and in a good way. Fingers crossed.
How is Priest in an utterly unplayable place? How bad are the majority of you mindless cretins that just mimic the decks other people post? The only accurate thing you've mentioned is that Shaman is a dominating class right now. Hunters get one deck, Priests have 3 decks, and you're saying Priest is the one that needs help? Because Entomb, Cabal, Excavated Evil, Shadow Words, card draw, Auchenai Circle clears aren't strong enough??
Remove Entomb and then buff Priest so the baddies out there can have an easier time, that's the only logical foundation for any improvements.

Warlock is always the butt-monkey class every adventure/expansion set. Its hero power is too powerful and their archetypes (Zoo/RenoLock) always dominate, so they never really need better cards. The class usually uses new good Neutral cards to improve their Zoo/RenoLock decks. They get 1-2 good class cards like Forbidden Ritual and Darkshire Councilman once in a while....

Good priest cards or riot!

I probably won't buy the expansion. I'll just save up gold to play the wings with cards that I want.

Actually Dragon Priest may become a very competitive deck with the new adventure.

Priest should never be good because it's the most annoying bad designed class of them all .
It does nothing but destroy and steal your own stuff until you have nothing left .
If Priest doesn't get a bunch of ridiculous theify cards, I'll be happy, otherwise:
