Eversince we got all the Uldum cards I was really liking, obssessed almost, with Highlander Paladin deck. While Sir Finley is not such a good card like other LoE heroes, it does bring some value. My reasoning behind the deck is this:
You need a good wincondition, right? Something reliable. Recycling Da Undatakah is a good thing Palis can pull off, I really liked Roger's grindy deck he brought some time ago to a major event. It was supposed to outvalue Warriors that are still a big part of meta. You grind out your oponnent and stave off fatigue. And even if your oponnent is not able to kill it repeatedly in the lategame, that just means you hit them for 8 dmg every turn, fatigue or no fatigue. Only problem is that Undatakah is weak to silence and polymorph effect. Only decks that are played and use such things are maybe Control War, Reno Mage and Shaman. So why not have two Undatakahs thanks to Banker? If your original Undie gets silenced you have another one. Late in the game it is safe to assume they have already used all of their silence effects on your other good deathrattle cards like Mechano Egg etc. And the Undatakah gets the deathrattle effect anyway. Since you include the Banker, why not run Shirvalla as well? You need healing anyway, it is a good card and synergizes well with your plan and grants you another wincondition with Holy Wrath. It is a more reliable way to win against faster aggro and midrange decks where a sudden burst of dmg most likely wins you the game since aggro burns you down fast. That is if you can pull of that combo in time before you get killed.
So what you need is support to get to the lategame plan=card draw and survival. Paladin has some excelent boardclears but thanks to the Equality nerf you've lost a lot of cheap and strong AoE. Carddraw is often a problem but you do have some nice things in Prismatic lens, Crystology, Hammer, Acolytes and such. Plus paladin has some great healing with Lay on hands, Nozari, debuffs of big minions, double healing with Kangor etc.
Here is the deck as I've put it together currently:
I have two problems with it. First I really really like the idea of the deck and I would like to try it, but I do not have all the cards. I do have enough dust to craft all the cards i need but it is a heavy investement that might not pay off. Second is that I'm not so sure about the concept as a whole to wrk since it is a pretty slow deck and Highlander Pali never really took off and I would like to hear some constructive criticism on the deck or experience you guys had with it or similar decks. There are also some possibilities of different/more winconditions like Hakkar and Elysiana, perhaps going the dragon route since you include Nozari that will sit in your hand for quite some time, some pali dragon cards are good. Maybe it could do with more support cards like more AoE, more removal, more survivability or perhaps the quest route. Reborn cards are decent enough to be included.
I really like the idea of the deck and I was hoping it works, since I like these kinds of Control decks.. I myself don't own a good Paladin collection either and can't afford the deck.
I just adjusted the deck a bit, trying to remove the greedy cards to make it a bit more competitive in the Meta.
I like Annoy-o and Siamat, makes sense though cutting Lay on Hands seems like too much of a loss of healing and card draw. I have my doubts about Call to Adventure as it will most likely draw you Doomsayer, Pyro or something like that which are like throwayway cards. And buffing the Doomsayer is a disaster. Prhaps Witchwood piper would be better. It really needs some playtesting.
I feel like the paladin singleton deck should be aggro. I tried it and it works well. You can pretty much always select a more agressive hero power than the one you already have.
