I'm sure you guys watched the HCT 2019 games and I wanna talk about one deck in particular, Roger's Paladin. Paladin is my favorite class and used to play it exclusively. When RR came out I was intrigued with the Immortal Prelate strategy, and tried many version. It was never a top tier deck (mainly because Silence), but I had some fun with it. Now a new expansion came out, and Roger made a pretty interesting variant, one that included a Mech-package. Since it's a deck made for a tournament where you can ban classes, it's not optimized for the ladder, so this is where I want to do some theorycrafting.
This is my version I cut the slower stuff like Nozari and Tirion Fordring in order to not auto-lose against the majority of fast decks like Rogue, Hunter or ZooLock:
This version is a lot faster with cheaper Magnetize Mechs. In slower games Da Undatakah works well combined with Mechanical Whelp and the aforementioned Immortal Prelate to keep flooding the board with powerful Mechs while slowing fatigue. I was wondering if there are any ideas going around on how to optimize this archetype. Also is it dumb to cut Mechano-Egg? xd
Hey there, funnily I started exoerimenting with this deck this morning, too ^^ I also cut tirion and the big dumb dragon, added 1 shrink ray and 1 pyro to be able to cope with big threats as well as wide boards in the mid game better. I also switched one blrssings for a second bells as it goes nicely with the pyromancer.
I think the deck is still too incosistent and vulnerable too aggro in the early/mid game, plus since mech hunter is a thing some people start teching in silence which hurts (besides the fact that literally everyone has reomoval for truesilver nowadays). Probably have to make room for concecration somehow, too.
How is vargoth doing for you? The only thing that he combos well with is concecration, right?

I've been trying to get in Wild Pyromancer but with some sort of Secrets package and Sound the Bells! of Kings because there aren't enough Spells otherwise (it's always strong with Equality though). Shrink Ray sounds interesting!
Hmm I don't see the value in vargoth, as it seems way too risky with the targetable spells (and if you can play a blessings and vargoth and you opponent doesn't have a board it seems like you are winning anyway ^^).
Yeah I would like to fit 1 equality and 1 more pyro or shrink Ray in there, but I can't seem to find the room :/
Yeah, that's the reason for this thread. I'm currently testing a version with a more early mech-curve, Upgradeable Framebot etc. This also lure out Silence from Control decks so Da Undatakah gets more value in those match-ups.
@dw1994, the reason I added 2 is because sometimes I have to play more then 3 Deathrattles before Da Undatakah gets played, and not getting Prelate's effect would suck. But I'll try with 1 ;)

Early Mechs might work, Kangor's Endless Army is the main reason to pick Paladin over Hunter in the Mech departement. The Class-specific minions are cooler as well =)
With the recent nerfs and buffs I made some small changes. Added Galvanizers to make the deck faster (works great after a turn 1 Crystology). Harrison Jones is the new weapon destroyer as well as potential draw. Lightforged Blessing is sometimes a dead card against Control, but it's very good against Aggro, especially when I have a slow start. I am considering taking 1 out though, any suggestion what else could work?
I faced a Paladin with Vargoth yesterday on Ladder he played the 3 mana draw a card and gain +2/2 .
It was a pretty easy game for me, since I have double Shrink Ray and one Equality. Unfortunately Mech Paladin runs into the problem that people tech for Big minions because of Mage , and some even played silence because of MechHunter... At the moment I only run the core Mechs like one Annoyomodule, Zilleax, Mechanoegg, and Mechanical Whelpling.
Even tho with the upcoming buffs Crystalogy is insane, i doubt it will leave a higher impact than the buffs for Hunter and Priest.
Yeah Crystology on 1 and Galvanizer on 2 seems strong. You'll need enough Mechs though, and Magnetize them straight away to get max value from Kangor's Endless Army. That's also why removal isn't really a problem. Silence on the Mechs means no Silence on Da Undatakah ;)

Vargoth works with all the spells, more draw with Crystology, more buffs with Blessing of Kings (unless it hits the opponent xd) and Lightforged Blessing. But the most epic situation is combined with Kangor's Endless Army ;)

You don't need double Prelates, I run 1 which can be tutored easily so it's pretty consistent for Undertakah. I like this variation with Mechs though!
good luck beating anything besides warrior

Im playing this since the expansion came out. At the moment il try to mix in some Dragons for the earlygame .
You definately only need one Prelate , two are very bad actually.High Priest Thekal is also questionable.

This version does better, but is it dumb to drop Mechano-Egg? xd

Glow-Tron is more flexible then Upgradeable Framebot imo. Looks good otherwise!
You are absolutely correct. Updated the OP!

Laddered with this today, it's pretty strong. I run Countess Ashmore over Vargoth however, since draw is good =)
I'll try it out. Also I've seen Mech Paladin's cut Consecration, why is that? Token Druid still runs Swipe for example.

I put Countess Ashmore in for now. Archmage Vargoth is preferred in some games but overall the drawing is nice, especially when you have Da Undatakah going. Thanks ;)

If you use the speal which gives lifesteal on your Pyromancer, does the heal work for the 1 AoE effect?
Yes. But when going the more Control route with Wild Pyromancer, I would add more Spells like Equality.

EDIT: put Vargoth back in ;)
