Hi! As I imagine many people use Hearthpwn's deckbuilding tool. It is very useful, no doubt about that. But it is outdated, it needs improvements, and since I haven't found any particular thread about this topic, I'm making my own one. Feel free to comment on your thoughts about what you'd like to see improved in the deckbuilder. It is possible that some points I mention below may be specifically my issues, not topical for other users.
1. "Show Standard only" button. I think this button should be "Show Wild cards" instead, because I imagine, most people play Standard, and the Standard pool would have been better to show as a default pool of cards.
2. Card image loading. For example, I'm building a deck, and I want to add a 7-mana neutral card, but I don't remember its name, so I flip through the pages to the 7-drop section and what do I see? Card backs instead of cards, because deckbuilder for some reason loads card images from the very first page and not the page I straight went to, and I have to wait until it loads card images for all the 50~ previous pages, which it is doing also very slowly for some reason. If it is impossible lo load all the card images upon opening the deckbuilder page, at least it would be great if the image loading mechanism was loading card images from the pages we are going to.
3. Page selection, which derives from the previous point. It is very tedious to scroll through 50~ pages to get to the card section I need. Of course I can choose a specific mana cost in the bar above, but what if I don't remember the specific mana cost or the card itself? Or what if I just want to browse through the high mana cost section altogether? That's why I think the deckbuilder needs a way to skip through sections/pages. There is a page number under the card section, why not make it so you can type a specific page there and go straight to it? Or also it would be convenient if there was a number of dots under the card section representing mana costs, and when I click, for example, the three mana cost dot, it would send me to the beginning of the three mana card page, allowing to scroll forwards and backwards, not just showing ONLY three mana drops like a current "Mana Filter" tool does.
4. A set filter. I honestly don't know why it hasn't been implemented yet because it seems such an obvious addition to make. We need to be able to filter cards through sets, it is very important. Nothing to add here really, it just needs to be added.
5. Mechanic filter. Spell damage and Summon options work weirdly, not showing all the possible options available. Also I think Draw should also be added as a mechanic.
6. Rarity filter and minion/non-minion filter. It would be very useful to have them, especially a minion/non-minion filter, because often you build a spell heavy or a minion heavy deck and would like to exclude unnecessary results from the visible card pool.
7. Adding/subtracting cards from the decklist. I don't know if it's possible to make it so that if you click on a card in your decklist (in the deckbuilder page obviously), it would open the page where that card is (like in Hearthstone itself), but at least it would be great to let us add another copy of a card by left-clicking it in the decklist. Right-click subtracts a card, but why doesn't left-click add a card?
8. Undo button. It would be amazing if there was an undo button near the decklist, registering several latest changes and letting undo/redo them if necessary. Sometimes a mouse may slip and you accidentally delete a card from the deck and then you have to manually add it again. And sometimes you just peer at your deck, tweaking it back and forth, and an undo/redo button would greatly improve this process.
For now, this is everything I would like to talk about. I have some suggestions about editing an existing deck too, but those ones are for another time and post. I would like to remind that this is not a hate post, I love the deckbuilder and find it incredibly useful, I just would love to see it being improved. Let me know if you agree or disagree with me on these points and what would you add/tweak in the current deckbuilding tool?
Agreed on all of that. Especially number 2 I find really annoying and would be nice if improved.
And I have also a suggestion. I almost exclusively play with fun/meme decks but as the "deck type" there is no such type you can choose. I always take "theorycraft" (or sometimes "none"), but that's not really what it is and by searching only for that I might miss out on other people's decks which would rather call it a ranked deck since it's somewhat decent and such. I would like to see something like "fun deck" or "meme deck" as deck types for the casual players that just want to have some fun.
