I don't appreciate Amazon (Twitch is an Amazon subsidiary) forcing us to merge our Hearthpwn and Twitch accounts.
I have Twitch Prime and Amazon Prime, but I may create an alternate Twitch account just to protect my real Amazon/Twitch account.
Maybe I am overreacting, or just feeling salty. But I don't appreciate being forced to share log-ins and usernames when for security and privacy reasons I have them both set up under different names.
I don't see any way to keep my separate usernames on Twitch and Hearthpwn, if I do merge my accounts with two usernames. I looked at the FAQ but it is not clear.
Not everyone is happy with this forced merge, but I guess we have no choice in the matter. And some of the details in the FAQ are confusing.
It was kinda annoying for me, for the same reason you stated: privacy. I have a Twitch account, but honestly it's only because of the HS benefits from having Twitch Prime, which I was eligible for since I'm Amazon Prime anyway.
The part that worries me a bit is that I do purchasing online from Amazon (obviously) so they have my card info. If HPwn is merging, does that mean they could potentially have access to that info as well? Who knows, but I say most likely yes it's possible. There's no reason why I would want this site to have any kind of bank information, so it does feel sketchy.
If I would have thought about it, I would have made a separate Twitch account just for this site, but oh well.

I can't believe they are bothering us with this mandatory account merge. I don't watch Twitch, don't care about it, and now I'm forced to make an account there. Not fair!
I could careless, however, I completely understand your reasoning behind wanting it to be optional. Even as someone who was like, "Sign me up!" the second I got the message, I support your thoughts on the matter in how it should be an optional merge of accounts.
You guys talk like anyone cares about your information, which apparently is super important because why would you feel insecure and feel like it's putting your privacy at risk, no one gives a duck about your info, you're seriously not that important to be special snowflakes that someone needs info about and for those reasons will somehow disrupt your privacy, seriosly chill tf out, you just watch too much TV.

Yupp, zero choice in the matter. Even though they say 'You have an option' I couldn't do anything on the HearthPWN site until i merged.
I'm not online, it's just your imagination
