China?!?!? Where HS is one of the most popular online games?
Well HS is gonna take a bit hit in this region if thats true.
Why? They will (if they did not already) probably steal copy the idea in a chinese version on twitch making another member of communist party a billionaire.

It's truly an unfortunate situation that having uninterrupted access to the internet isn't a basic right everyone can have. We're going forward with an all-Twitch authentication service on the site and removing the old Curse one so no, there won't be any way to login and use your HearthPwn account once mandatory merges are a thing unless you make use of a VPN. In theory you wouldn't need to be connected to the VPN 100% of the time, only when you need to login to the account - the browser cookie should allow the session to persist assuming HearthPwn remains unblocked.
I can confirm that using a VPN will allow you to get past the Great Firewall of China.
At least I've been able to access Youtube, Google, and multiple other websites that are normally blocked by the Chinese government.
Also, don't blame the People's REPUBLIC [lol, they're funny] of China. They're not going to change things.
I used to use two different VPNs. One (tianxing) was banned in July. The other (freegate) is disabled by the government recently due to the national conference taking place in Beijing. I'll try find a new one. Thanks.
Crazy this 1984 crap is happening in 2017. In a country that contains 1/6 of the world's population.
This won't affect me in any way, but it pisses me off.
You guys are either incredibly naive or entitled. There is no inherent human right to free access of a network of computers around the world, any more than there should be a right to have my favorite cereal every morning. Many many MANY countries restrict access to certain parts of the web (look up internet decency restrictions in your favorite democracies in India, S Korea, even the U.K.). China gets an incredible amount of flak for this just because they are "communist" (by the way they are basically state directed capitalist / hypermercantilist) and not democratic (which people brainwashed on western education blindly worship as the best form of govt in the universe), when in reality they are nowhere near the only ones to put up Internet restrictions.

But it should be a right.
And your example sucks because you forcing others to do something is not the same as others keeping you from doing something.
Can you see the difference between the government hindering you from doing something in your home and you forcing your favorite food down people’s throat?
I live in China as well. Using a VPN works. The government of China is not a "state directed capitalist / hypermercantilist" It is an authoritarian one party state with many state-owned enterprises driving the economy.
Also can confirm newest version of freegate works.

As the title said, people in China don't have access to Twitch due to the great firewall. Do I have other ways to keep my hearthpwn account?
THERE IS NO GAME.
Sad the government partakes in such censorship
The Might of Dalaran has Arrived!
Maybe using vpn? Im not sure, but its worth the try..
Yeah, a toast!

Actually this is quite serious, didn't this site even consider that users in China do not have access to twitch?

I'm sorry there's nothing we can do.

This is a huge blow to HS. I actually feel bad for China at this point
So this forum is basically going to lose every Chinese player? Don't know how many there are, but this certainly doesn't look good.
