I see it's a random pack opener. There's no use for that since it's not connected to the game itself.
What would be MORE THAN USEFUL ( for me at least :) ) , add it to inkeeper as a method to track your last packs, so you can look back, what you received in them, how long since your last legendary, etc. :) .

Completely superfluous gimmick, IMHO. Why on earth did the devs hide the "blue posts" for this crap ?
Because all of the follow repeat topics were useful, right? :)

The Hearthstone team kinda sucks at posting quality content for a blue tracker, unlike the WoW team. Any time there's good blue posts, they end up in our front page news. The blue tracker can still be accessed by the forums navigation menu or at it's url http://www.hearthpwn.com/blue-tracker

The pack opener is just a fun feature, let it be that! People are using it quite a bit, so it's pretty clear Wigen did an excellent job bringing it onto the site. And as Molster has said, we can extend it for more fun.

The blue tracker did have some interesting posts from time to time, and I read it about as much as I read the normal forums on this site.
I'm glad and all you guys were able to put in this new feature that most people seem to really enjoy, but unless there was problems designing the UI, you had no excuse to get rid of the blue tracker. It could have easily just been another tab down at the bottom. I'm sure many more people than just my self couldn't care less about the leaderboards.
Sode note: Nice job Wigen, the design of it is very nice. I've been very impressed with the quality of the latest site updates, especially innkeeper.

I returned to this game much like how a recovering alcoholic can relapse.

...
Admittedly true. But at least it's game related and even sometimes informative. And nobody is forced to read the countless repetative threads you mentioned.
But nevertheless i think it shouldn't replace "Blue Posts" as a "prominent" topic. Just put this gimmick "somewhere else".
I was laughing at this before I even finished reading the announcement post. I gave it a few tries, chuckled a bit, and then decided I was done.
The only annoying part, for me, is I thought I'd get a site trophy for it and I didn't get a trophy! The only reason I bothered is because I figured "meh, free trophy is free, I'll take it". How does a site that tracks achievements not count this as one?

There are actually three site achievements tied to the pack opener, all of which were added around an hour after we launched it. If you didn't receive any of them, you may have interacted with it prior to their additions :D

Thanks for the heads up! I went back and earned them. I agree that this is nothing more than a cute little timewaster, but I really appreciate that this site is run by people who care enough about it to implement these fun little extras, even it sometimes it seems like the rest of the community isn't so appreciative. :/
Also, thanks for telling me that there's three trophies without spoiling what they're awarded for. I got the fun of discovering them myself while still knowing when I had them all, so I didn't waste any time in pursuit of trophies that don't exist.

I got the achievements like half an hour later after i did the necessary tasks to get them. Just sometimes its a little sluggish with achievements in general, but u should get them eventually, dont worry :) PS: i know u got these already, im just saying that in general ;-)

There's always going to be people opposed to new stuff, and we're okay with that. There's also some people who are upset that x or y wasn't done instead of a pack opener, but as it's been said elsewhere, this was largely done during Wigen's free time so it's a miracle we've got it to begin with! *opens another pack*
I'm not a huge fan of spoilerino cappuccinos, sometimes I'd just love to nuke the few threads discussing site achievements but then we couldn't taunt people with them :D. I'm excited to see what we can do in the future for pack opener achievements.. there's so much potential.

I'm fine with the pack opener, even though it's not my cup of tea personally I don't have any problems with it. But did you have to remove the blue tracker from the home page for it?

Haha, I don't think I would've realised there was supposed to be an ad there if you hadn't mentioned it. I like this site so I'll turn it off.
If the reason for removing the blue tracker is its 'hits' or 'popularity', I can't tell you how many times I've visited a curse site for the sol purpose of checking the blue posts made for that particular game. That doesn't seem like a metric you could easily track, as I'm not clicking to view 'blue' replies to threads titled "y all my crads gone???" etc.
A cool replacement could be a twitter feed for the more vocal/active HS devs? FInd room for the Bluetracker though won't ya? <3
The blue tracker still exists, it's under the forums dropdown in the menu bar.
Let's be honest though, the blue tracker for Hearthstone has always been pretty useless. I use it a lot myself on mmo-champion but the hearthstone 'blue posters' never post interesting stuff, it's only technical support. Real announcements are coordinated on multiple channels at the same time so you don't need the tracker for those.

Packs are way too good to be realistic. Hardly ever a "40 dust pack". I´d eliminate basic cards well. Still fun
we'll release more packs. this pack is designed to be crazy. anything goes, higher than normal odds!
real packs are typically not as fun to open when they are not real, so we released with wild.
we'll have another pack for the weekend, and many more to come!

The one feature missing is a way to track your best open for a pack - and prompt you to save it.
That can provide a sense of advancement for the feature.
This space intentionally left blank.

I would have much rather the Hearthpwn dev team fix the arena simulator (or at least update it to include LOE cards) than this pointless "feature".

The feels when even a pack opener with inflated drop rates and it still takes you 33 packs to get a legendary ;/
All shall be Dust
*illuminati*
"Pack opener" is an obvious distraction to get us away from thinking about next expansion and new heros.
Not sure if hyped yet.
