I have only paid money for one F2P game, and that was DC infinite crisis (never spent money on hearthstone, I just do the quests twice a weak and enjoy the slow process). I hadn't played for a while so I went onto my steam account to sear for Infinite crisis, but I see it is not in my library anymore. A few minutes on google later I see that they canceled the game. Given I only spent $4 on 5000 coin deal through G2A, but still. What if I spent the $30 for the full champion pack? This is the first, and last F2P game I will ever put money into. It just feels like stealing that they can take my money and ditch.
Soon there will be a class action lawsuit, for fraud of somesort, if this practice doesn't end. I know that in the User Agreement terms we agree that they can do this, so it will probably be a loss. But eventually the F2P will emplode on itself, if they don't stop cancelling these games. And Infiite crisis spend TONS on marketing, I remember at least two weeks every commercial on Youtube was for that game.
RIDICULOUS. EVERYONE STOP PAYING MONEY IN F2P! THEY WILL GET THE MESSAGE!

Hit a guy, heal a guy, draw a guy, play a guy. The Dream
That's true. Blizzard is solid. I don't think Heroes of the Storm or Hearthstone will stop in the next five years. But there are soooo many other F2P that people build there lives around. So sad.

You buy food you only eat once and pay for movie tickets that only give you a single viewing. I'm not sure why online multiplayer games have to last forever. Honestly if you spend $50 but play for 100+ hours hopefully feel you've gotten your moneys worth. Now don't get me wrong, it sucks with like Infinite Crisis or Scrolls that people spend a chunk of money only for the game to close a couple months after when you expected to last much longer (or if you're busy and you can't even really play enough to justify your purchases) but Hearthstone and Blizzard are doing incredibly well and as pointed out before even games like Diablo II and Warcraft III are still up.
Exactly games like D2 and warcraft 3 are still up. So I will play games like those. I pay $10, get them cheap on G2A, and get unlimited lifelong play. That's what gaming should be like. Dealth to F2P!

but there are tons of third party sites that you can use to play those later. You can still play Heroes of MIght and Magic 3 online, and there servers have been down for decades. But with F2P, you cant use third party servers.

Sooo, why are you posting this on a hearthstone site?
I think you are overreacting 'cause one F2P game got canceled... Hearthstone makes millions per month and has a HUGE community, there are not enough drugs in the world that would make Blizzard give up the game.
You wanna complain about f2p take perfect world entertainment where the games are so p2w that you can literally one shot fully geared f2p players.it takes about 2 years to hit max level and you can spend 10k+ and not be half fully geared. Its an mmo. An analogy to hearthstone would be turn one hero power deal 30 damage to your opponent.. Hearthstone is nowhere near p2w. I am a f2p player and i can now say that i have a full control warrior list with all tech cards like harrison etc. Doing dailies and having the same chance as people who pay, is not toxic and i for one find nothing wrong with it. 30 million people don't register for a game because its bad they stay because its good. Blizzard has a good buisness model that caters to players very well.

Similar thing happend to me with Age of Empires: Online, i bought the game, they closed servers, canceled the game and im left with nothing (well anyone who bought the game were). The worst thing was, that they offered multiple subscriptions of future content for many years ahead for a bundle prices etc. (but still a lot of money) and all those ppl got screwed bad. But i suppose it is with any online or online-ish game that this can happen and well we chose to invest in it and noone forced us to.
I think its safe to say, at least with blizzard, that they will not cancel any of their games anytime soon, even wow and starcraft are still running over decade or two and thats pretty solid resume ;-)

Sure you can. Existences of private servers have nothing to do with whether a game is free to play or not.

Online games end services all the time. Doesn't matter if it's free to play, monthly subscription, one time payment, or whatever.
