Old-school MTG player, never played in many tournaments, only got some nice places on some FNMs. Mostly because I never had the money to spend on more powerful decks, since I absolutely hate Red Deck Wins and other retarded-basic aggro. I'm a TurboFog loyalist.
Let's see... magic for 8 years (Mirrodin was the first set I can remember playing with), pokemon when I was little (base-jungle-fossil-rockets days), yu-gi-oh (again when I was younger with the early sets), shadow era on my phone and computer... oh, and the harry potter tcg and hecatomb, but those were only around for about a year each. I think that's it :P
I started playing MtG in 1994, just before the Ice Age expansion came out. Played in a couple of tournies, but most of my games were on Wednesday nights in a local pub. ;)
Played MtGO from the day it went live for a year or so, but I stopped when they took away Leagues (and started playing WoW instead).
I played magic about 15 years ago and then a little pokemon a few years later. Discovered RTSs and then dropped card gaming until about a year and a half ago and started playing magic again with innistrad block. Just recently stopped again before theros because damn physical cards get addictive and costly when you're an adult with real money to spend and of course I got a beta invite to hearthstone.. My preferred decks in MTG, at least this recent run, were vamps in Innistrad block, orzhov/gruul in RTR, standard, and mono black at M14 release pre-rotation.
On a competitive scale (Championships etc.): Magic: The Gathering for 19 Years now, looking forward to my personal anniversary tournament next year :) Quit competitive 7 years ago, due to time. Star Trek CCG from start till end Star Wars CCG for its first 3 years
For fun (and loots): WoW TCG Aliens Predator (proud of complete collection; cards are hard to get nowadays)
I also collect TCGs and make money out of it (hobby store). For most CCG/TCGs ever in existence I have enough material to play 1on1 (either for demo games at store, or for trying them out).

Heh, what name do you go by on there? I'm fairly active in that community as well... feel free to drop me a line if you ever want to try to get into a game :) - I know a lot of people in the SE community are watching hearthstone (one of the reasons my Hearthstone vids are getting okay views compared to other 'random games' I sometimes post :P)
Pokemon, and MtG. I also play almsot any of the TCG on my tab lol. i really enjoyed playing MtG, I enjoyed the green/black combo or to be funny just run a COP deck. I like Hearthstone and I think there is a lot of combos that can be found within the cards but, I also look at how cards can synergize with more than just one other card. I think that you more your cards work together the better but, not just the BIG combos that do the most damage. Most veteran TCG players can spot a setup pretty easily.
I've played MTG since around 1994-5. When I was younger I played in the Junior Super Series, Grand Prixs and PTQs - but haven't been to any big sanctioned events since graduating college several years ago. I currently host multi-annual drafts and have my own Cube (that I'm a little anal about since it's absurdly expensive). Aside from limited I also frequently play EDH :)
I've been playing magic steady since 1994. I have won a ton of events, played on the pro tour, Nationals, Regionals and top 8'ed many PTQ's and states events. I have run events, judged and run a small business buying and selling cards. I still play, and mostly play standard. paper only, I cannot afford to get into MTGO. that and it takes forever to play on there, it seems.
I also played a ton of VS system. I played in 7 Pro circuit events. made day 2 for 5 of them, and cashed on 3. I also did a podcast about the VS system called The Fallout Shelter. VS had a very cool community, so props to all my old VS brethren.
I played a lot of the WOW TCG as well. I qualified for nationals and few other bug events but could never attend. Then the community where I live died, so...yah. The lasting affect of that game was getting me into the MMO, which I still play. I also made a podcast about this game as well. We called it WOW: from 1 to 70. coverd the MMO and the card game.
Over the years Ive played: L5r, Star wars, rage, Duel masters, spellfire, new world order (by jackson games), Lord of the rings, and a ton of other CCG's.
I'm Althalas everywhere I'm not Vicious Bomber. See me in hearthstone and start the match with an oops, and I'll know your a HearthPWN buddy. :-)
I played pokemon for a few years, I think i have played Yu-Gi-Oh For the longest My favorite decks are Destiny hero, Neo spacian, Archfiend( the chess piece ones), Arcana force, Venoms( Venom Deity ftw) and Arcana force . I started playing magic 2 years ago. I play the Naruto tcg, Duel masters, and Kingdom hearts tcg. I just have cards everywhere.
Hello, I am a MTG Commander / EDH guy myself. I have been enjoying hearthstone so far. I come from a background of probably 8 years of playing MTG over the corse of 15 years (lots of breaks).
If you are familiar with MTGSalvation (another curse site now) you might have bumped into me.
When i was 10, i used to play magic with some of my older brother's friends. When yugioh came out, me and my friends started playing it instantly. I have also dabbled in pokemon, digimon, dragonball, and even at one point harry potter tcg (lol i dont even know). But until 3 years ago, i hadnt touched a card game for over 5-6 years. My friends and i decided to pick up yugioh again. It was when synchros first came out, so we were trying to get used to some of the new rulings. Since then, I have been playing yugioh and pokemon casually, and Vanguard competitively (my friends and i ended up getting qualified and going to the north american championship two months ago). And now hearthstone...lots and lots of hearthstone....just cant stop hearthstone... :P
I'm genuinely surprised that we have no other Cardfight Vanguard players here. I find that at the moment, out of all TCGs, it is probably the most balanced one, and "meta" decks do not overshadow the other ones by much, if at all.
I played about four years of Yu-Gi-Oh! in mostly local tournaments. I was the weird guy that would play the stall deck with Ojama Trio, Lava Golem, Level Limit - Area B, Stealth Bird, etc. etc. That should give you a good idea of not only when I played, but also when I stopped. :P
I'm a high level Yugioh player, I won Oceanics 2013 and played at Worlds in Vegas (Dragon Rulers, hence the account name). I also played a lot of WoW TCG during UDE's era but the Australian scene wasn't exactly booming.
I play Yugioh competitively myself. To put things into perspective the first deck I ever used at a tournament was the Fire Starter Deck, which was the first ever non-character based Starter Deck. I'm pretty much known in my area as the guy who could do well if I only put forth the money to actually build a top tier deck. Instead I prefer to topple Dragon Rulers with Battlin' Boxers, and laugh as I Duston OTK people.

Until you come up against a legitimately good player with a top tier deck :P
Haha yeah. There are some really good players in the New York Yugioh scene, and there are some I know even if I was running a top tier deck against, they would likely still beat me.

pokemon 10 years ago, picking up WWE raw deal for a year or two, play some yugioh, and then vs system, and finally WoW TCG.

Dragonball Z CCG. Such memories. Won comicfest sydney 01 and 7-0 in the first nationals (before losing due to questionable ruling in t16)
Then MTG starting 7th ed.
