I played MTG years ago, mostly for fun and then some local tournaments. I also played some Eye of Judgement on the PS3 and had almost all of the cards for that game. Any other former EoJ players around?
When I was a kid, I remember playing Pokemon a lot. It was something to do, although my friend had a couple of real shiny Charizards that got stolen from him.
I played a lot of Yu-Gi-Oh too in late Middle School and Early High School. But then I mostly stopped except for the occasional game with my mom's friend's kids. I still remember how to play... I miss it.
I've played Magic the Gathering on and off since Ice Age (walked to a gaming store one boring summer day and bought my first starter deck on a whim... both of my brothers bought decks later that day!). In recent years I've pretty much only played it online, recently sold my collection though as the MTGO community is pretty bleh. Still have all my paper cards but rarely anyone to play with. I hope hearthstone fills my tcg needs!
Played some magic back in the day (green/skullclamp or something) but it got out of my budget. Played some Duels of Champions but the metagame got very stale. Looking forward to Hearthstone fixing my cardgame itch....my beta where art thou
I used to be a massive Yu-Gi-Oh fan. I even have the good and evil duel disks! I probably spent way too much money. I've never played MTG, but have played Pokémon, online a little.
I started playing yugioh and I sucked. I played a lott of pokemon competitions but spent a lot of the time not having money and playing god awful decks. I did really good at prereleases and drafts with my friends though. I wish I wasn't but I'm god-awful and M:TG, I might be better at drafts but I don't know because I used to force black every time in Innistrad. I tried Vanguard a little bit but my friends didn't care for it and I wasn't that great at it either. I just need this game to come out because I feel like I actually understand it.
USed to play a lot of magic the gathering way back but... I had a falling out with those that played it and now there are no one else to play the game with around here any more that did...
So... I have not played it... Wanted to play online magic the gathering but never had a PC and money all at the same time to play lol... Been Console gaming a long time now but the magic the gathering duel of a plains walker is a good game don;t get me wrong but it is a shadow of the real thing...
Pre made decks... only able to unlock a few cards and use them in your deck or not... Now that I have both money and a great pc going to wait for this hearthstone game.... because the production on it is so high... and the attention to details... and the flow of the gameis much better....
Started with pokemon tcg way back when it first came out. Then went to yugioh when it first came out and stuck with that for 5+ years. Went to MTG with my buddies and played it and MTGO off and on for the past 7 years+. All in all ive played TCGs for well over 10 years prob even 15+.

Started playing MTG in 1994 - end of Unlimited / start of Revised. Did a few tourneys back then when the first "world champion" was a French guy. My brothers were living in the US and I in France, so we used to make good money riding on both markets' trends. Cases like the Shivan Dragon being worth $10 or $15 in the US and nothing in France. Also as expansions used to be released in the US first, my brothers would call me up telling me which cards were removed / added / becoming rare etc. so I'd run to the store where all traders gathered in front and I'd start purchasing all the cards for peanuts using my insider info. :D Made a few grands this way. Remember selling apart a few Arabian Nights collections which was worth like $600 in the US while the top 3 cards alone were worth that much in France. :D
Then I played some Spellfire - a D&D based CCG
Of course some MTGO and then... MMORPG came into my life with EQ / DAoC / WoW etc...
Thank you Tobrane78, I was beginning to feel really, really old.
I mainly played Legend of the Five Rings and 7th Sea. I did try out MTG, but was too busy with the other games to play it much -- though I did have a Wizards of the Coast shop just nearby.
Yu-Gi-Oh (the most recent, as of about 2 years ago when I stopped playing). I also played pokemon as a kid. In the last couple of years I've been trying out various online TGCs and some are amazing. Scrolls (By Mojang) being one of the most recent successes in online TCGs. I played it for a few months. Before that there was Elements Online (A flash style game that copies the bases of MTG). I have played card games for years and I have to say that they are some of my favorite games of all time. :)
Yu-Gi-Oh when I was young... I had some weird Dragon based deck. Not competitive.
I've played MTG for 5 years now. At first I played RDW Kiln Fiend edition, then casual 60 standard with friends. I moved to EDH soon after and haven't really left. I did play a mono-green Legacy elf deck for a month or so, but nobody played Legacy in my area(should have looked at that first) so I traded it all off to make more EDH decks. After RTR I made a Junk Tokens for standard, but that didn't last too long since I needed to get 4x Voice for the deck... And I didn't like the deck that much.
As for EDH decks, I have made way too many. I had Oona tribal, Karador, Riku, Ezuri, Kalitas tribal, Damia, Horde of Notions Planeswalkers, Zegana, Kaalia, New Rakdos, Dromar, Aurelia, Jor Kadeen, Melek, Rosheen Meanderer and probably others that I can't remember.
Hmm.... I started in MtG back in the mid 90s, played that regularly up through about 2001. Only got back into it a few months ago, though I did start watching other youtubers covering it starting about this time last year.
That said, it'd be hard for me to list all the TCGs I tried (tried a lot of the smaller tcgs/ccgs in the 90s/early 2000s - some good, some bad, none lasted too long). Nowadays I play primarily digital TCGs, a lot more accessible for someone my age.
My tournament/competitive experience is mixed, never was a consistent tournament player, though my favorite format is generally sealed or draft - which gets less coverage than constructed usually anyways :(. I'm a relative unknown outside of youtube when it comes to my gaming history.
Currently I play: Hearthstone, Shadow Era, MtG/MtGO, and I do still occasionally dabble in MMDoC, Scrolls, and Forgotten Myths, but not enough to really do substantial content over them. I'm planning to do coverage of Hex Shards of Fate (I'll be in the next wave of alpha testers admitted), but I have to say the TCG/CCG I'm waiting for hasn't quite been made yet, and I lack the personal knowledge and resources to create it myself (and that is a digital strategic ccg that has a functional business model that favors neither g2w or p2w, but rather a balance of the two, much like what Hearthstone and Shadow Era have)

I played M:TG quite heavily for a long time, albeit not on a competitive level or anything. Mostly local matches and against friends.
I still have all my cards but I admit I haven't played in at least 15 years.
/old
I played MTG back on Invasion Block .. Red,Green :)

I was one of the better WowTCG players in the world, highest payout from a tournament was around 2,500 usd.
