Imagine if Hearthstone game 3 free decks to new players and enough cards to make fun homebrews.
Imagine if they had a tavern brawl that had 4 decks to chose from so you could play with all types of different synergies you were not exposed to yet.
Imagine if you were opening packs every 2-3 games with a generous reward system.
Imagine if the wins and losses were largely determined by your deck building and playing skills.
Imagine if your weekly reward chests were much better than a legend grind monthly reward is currently.
Imagine if the game company that makes this game was trying to attract players instead of exploit them.
Imagine if the game was not a buggy shitshow.
You don't need to imagine, I been playing hearthstone 5 years, been playing runeterra 6 days. Runeterra is superior in every way unless you love dropping huge sums of money for a bug ridden gambling app.
But in my opinion, Runeterra is not even close to hearthstone's fun.
No offense Riot, you still make a very cool CCG in Runeterra, but it just too far away from the kind of fun hearthstone offer. In a world without hearthstone, Runeterra definitely rule digital CCG.
I see this exact same argument throughout each year... Year after year...... Regarding Pro Evi and Fifa.
We get it, there are multiple games within a genre. Some people will prefer playing one over the othet(s), some will spread their time across multiple. That's fine, some people prefer pro evo, others prefer Fifa.
But they, like you, for some reason have a need to try and 'convert' people to their preference. If you prefer runeterra, cool, play runeterra and enjoy discussing that positively on a forum or reddit. I've tried magic and I've tried runeterra and for me, hearthstone is far superior.
I'm not a big card game player, I'd tried a couple in the past and found them clunky and unappealing. Hearthstone is an anonoly in that sense for me, I really enjoy it. I'm sorry you don't but I imagine me enjoying it means absolutely nothing to whether or kot you do.
Apply that same logic in reverse, you constantly telling me you prefer another game is irrelevant. I don't care. Your enjoyment and preferences simply aren't on my radar at all. Just ad mine aren't with you.
So just as I stick to talking about hearthstone because I enjoy it, why not use this time to discuss your preferred game? Is that not more positive? No one has ever given me a reasonable response to the question 'why do you haunt the forum of a game you claim to dislike rather than spend time on a forum of the game you do like'.
It's like going to a restaurant you know you don't like, just so you can complain about not liking it whilst the restaurant you do like would happily seat and serve you.

I'm super agree with you..
But just in case.. maybe we should ask this guy first or look at Runeterra forum.. just in case, maybe, just maybe.. he was actively open thread there about how good Runeterra is. But for all the other points, I truly agreed with you. This kind of topic about Runeterra should not posted in HS forum, general category, with the kind of 'trash-talk' to Hearthstone. If he just saying the good things about Runeterra, with screenshot and quick summary in other games category.. I'm all for him.
Also, I wonder where are the moderator is..? He was so fast gimme a warning when I was joking around even though it doesn't intentionally hurts the HS forum nor community.

It is meant to a show a contrast of how another, similar game goes about it's business. My question is 'do you think hearthstone would be better if it was set up like this?'
This comes from someone who has played hearthstone for 5 years and used to love the game.
Hearthstone wasn’t able to design a proper game so they based their communication on the fact that fun = RNG, while insisting that it was still a competitive game. That’s an accomplishment in itself, but the only impressive thing about Team 5.
(note : I’m double legend each month with a complete collection, so I didn’t come to this conclusion this morning.)

OK fair enough but it's worded in a particular way so it really doesn't read that way at all but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. I would point out though that comparing something you've had 5 years of experience with, to something you've had 6 days with is fairly pointless.
If you end a 5 year relationship with someone, of course you've built up various things over that time that annoy you etc and your new relationship, which you've been in for a week, seems infinitely more positive. Its only with hindsight that you can actually conclude that though. Maybe that new relationship lasts 12 months and when you look back and compare the two you feel the first was better overall, even though both ended badly.
The way you've worded your op doesn't suggest you're looking for na open dialogue in what can be taken from other games to actually improve this one. It sounds more like you've found a new toy and you're having sly digs about your old toys because you're really enjoying your new one.
5 years is a LONG time to spend on a game. Until recently games simply weren't designed to hold your attention for that long. In the last 15 or so years this is a direction more are moving to but in the grand scheme of things it's still fairly unchartered territory. If you went back 20 years and tasked a development team with designing a digital card game that engaged somebody for more than 5 years, I think it would have been a very daunting task. Yes, physical card games have existed but it's a different platform and experience completely. Part of why people will like that is the human interaction etc. Anything that comes after hearthstone also has the benefit of looking at what hearthstone did well and what it didn't do well. That's the same with a lot of other things but it's once that other game had been running on its own for X years that you will start to see if stands the test of time.
I've tried a few different card games, and I'm going to try lor soon too, but I really have not found any which I enjoy more than hearthstone yet. It's just the gameplay, user interface and art style I like a lot.
But, everyone can enjoy whichever game they want, I like that there is variety.

Bye?
Imagine if any1 leave HS and posting here
There's a forum category called 'other games'
He is 100% correct with his post tbh

Never be able to fulfill these players desire.

Take a walk on the wild side...
If that was your intention then you don't have to use Runeterra as the conclusion. It dilutes your general purpose somehow..
Yes, it will be good if HS like that. Hope the devs and studio read it. End of story.
