I'm sorry if I don't use a correct English, I did't post since 2 years ago... so my English is a bit rusty. I'm a very casual HS player, actually now I play one time a week, but I used to play a lot more. I'm not here to complain about the current state of Heartstone there are plentty of threads about that, and why today you can win with only DH, Rogue or Yogg-Saron (yeah... apparently Mage is no longer a class and Jaina became a servant of the RNG God, wait... it's not even Jaina, is Reno now). I'm not here to praise the "new" and "fresh" Riot Game, because I'm not a big fan of LoL because the success of a game should not came from a "stolen" idea of another game (Dota) I think is unfair and I'm sorry for the failure of Heroes of the Storm it came way too late to get a real chance. I'm here because during the last two years I've searched another game similar to HS, I've tried Gwent, Shadowverse, The Elder Scrolls, Artifact, Faeria and a bunch of others which I don't even remember. Runeterra is the first one that I kind of like, and I'm actually enjoy playing. I think one of the big plus is I didn't care about the lore of the other games, not at all. Heartstone has a huge lore, it is set in one of the most interesting universe of videogame history, a universe I really love. I know a lot of people who play Heartstone don't know what the "Culling of Stratholme" means and what role Akama plays in the Illidan's defeat in the Black Temple... but I am a huge fantasy geek, and I love good story-telling. Runeterra doesn't have the same type of story, but even if I don't "morally" appreciate Riot Games, I played LoL for a year before HoS lauched, and I know a little bit of LoL characters and story.
Now let's talk about my poll: 1) Dual-Class Decks: never play during Halloween? Dual-Class Decks already exist in Hearthstone... kinda. During the Hallow's End event (featuring Hecarim) player can play with a dual-class deck in Arena, it's a feature who could be impleted in a more common way but Hearthstone has already Neutral card, so I don't think Dual-Class make sense... but All-Class deck? Well, that's crazy.
2) Level-Up Champions: also this already exist in Hearthstone... kinda. Level-Up Champions is a sort of combination beetween Prime Legendaries and Side Quest. But I'll admit cards who "Level-Up" it's pretty good, I think I saw that in another card game, and It was not Pokemon I promise you.
3) Simpler Reward System: A lot of people say that Runeterra is much cheaper of Hearthstone, and contains more rewards, who can complete the collection more easy and faster... I don't know if that is true I'm very skeptical and I don't believe in the "true free-to-play cardgame" campaign. However something makes me hope for better, and for many people may seem a odd thing to focus on. It's not the weekly chest (instead of montlhy), it's not the missions reward of the class sistem reward, it's actually the bomus for the first three win in a day. I do a comparison so you can understant: in Heartstone you get 10gold every 3 victory up to a 100gold max (30 victory) per day; in Runeterra you get less rewards as you win from 100 to 0 but with the first win you get 400 bonus, 200 with second and 100 with the third,it may seem strange but Runeterra encourages you to play less and from me it's a good thing: I don't have time to win 30 game, even if I have the best deck possible It will take at least 4 hours to win 30 consecutive games (if you assume you spend 8 minute for each game). In Runeterra I play 3-5 game (36-60 minute) as soon as I get the 3 bonus I exit the game and doing somethingh else.
4) Weekly rewards: It's pretty simple: weekly rewards are better than monthly rewards... although I don't think it is a very important difference.
5) Full Cards Art: This, my friends, is actually what I really wants in Heartstone. I know this will not change the RNG, wil not change the gameplay, or the rewards system or the monetization... virtually will not change absolutely nothing about Hearstone but when I played Runeterra the first thing who pops in my mind was: WHY THE H**L THIS IS NOT IN HEARTSTONE? Sorry, I mean: WHY THE H**L THIS IS NOT IN HEARTSTONE? Ok, ok... sorry, but you ever see the full art of Chillwind Yeti? Or the Tinkmaster's Squirrel? And this are only two random examples. Now every time I play Heartstone I click on the card expecting to get the Full Art. I don't know why they don't implants this, I think is a good features and I'll pay omage to the amazing artists Blizzard has.
6) Gameplay: I'll admit this one was a tricky question. If you like the Runeterra's gameplay just play Runeterra. In my opinion Hearthstone and Runeterra must have different gameplay.
7) Spell Mana: This is also about the gameplay, so I don't really see in Heartstone right now. But I think could be a feature in a next class (maybe Monk) a sort of "reverse Overload" in which you play an understats minion to get extra mana in the next turn. Maybe.
?) Tell me If I miss something else.
As always: thank for the attention and let me know what you think. Bye!
Betrayer... In truth, it was I who was betrayed. Still, I am hunted. Still, I am hated. Now, my blind eyes see what others cannot: a board full of Flame of Azzinoth
Runeterra is a great game but definitely not for everyone. When I started to play the game I was overwhelmed by how much you can get done as a new account which enables a friendly environment. I really thought I would enjoy it more than HS but that was proven wrong quite quickly, theres something about HS that always brings me back, maybe Libram Paladin?
Gameplay wise to each his own, no need for one to copy the other. What Hearthstone really need is being able to enjoy the game (aka having multiple decks, because many people don't have fun spamming a couple you can scrap each expansion) even as a f2p player. That's what sets LoR apart from hearthstone.
Spell mana it's something that probably wouldn't work on hs. LoR does a lot of things really good but it's not an alternative to hs, it's more of a simplified version of magic imo. The only thing that hs developer have to do (which is already in the game and something LoR copied) it's rewarded dungeon runs/ expeditions. People played the s*it out of it on cobolds and catacombs and it would bring a lot of life on the game if you bring some exlusive cards too
I tried Runeterra back in days when was in open beta or something .... good as idea (i was amazed that Rito actually tried to put some effort on something else then league) but mechanics are kinda "pff" , also these intense card animations almost bring me epileptic attacks
