just wanted to say that for months half of threads were about artifact ( i realize the absurd of bringing it up again) , just wanted to say that if you go on twitch to watch artifact , i was curious to see, there are 2!!! streamers and 6!!! viewers!
Was a pretty dumb thing to not make it free to play imo. There are so many good f2p card games and artifact is pretty expensive after purchasing the game anyways.
If you think it's expensive you clearly don't know the model, that and they had since release several ways to get a LOT of cards for free.
Also to the person that started the thread, why do you care? Play the game you enjoy, don't give a shit about the one you don't it's pretty easy to do.

Wait it costs money!? Well then my streaming career is over.
not only cost money, the developers tryed to make the draft mode the competitive mode of artifucked, and you only could play it by paying real money each run xd, no chance to use "gold"

Clearly a bitter Artifact player that threw away money in the game. My condolences

I knew the game would have a miserable fate since I watched its first gameplay, it just has all the ingredients to failure, it's too complicated for a casual player, and it's also too dense to explain every turn for a streamer as it's basically a big math equation that clashes at the end of the turn (as Reynad said). This aspects would be that bad if it wasn't for the fact that the game is the most boring thing ever to watch, you just see players dropping cards that pick spots randomly kinda and then the only animation per se i when the boards collide and that's it, Hearthstone is succesful because it's flashy and you can have fun just by watching it, even if you don't fully understand what's happening.
To all that add that there's an entry pay wall for the game. The reality is that you can buy artifact and get a FULL COLLECTION for exactly $62.75, look at this website, it reads the info on the steam market so you have max copies needed of each playable card https://www.howmuchdoesartifactcost.com/ so all the cards + the 20 to get in is $60 max (discount the cads you'll get by buying the game and it's much less) so you can see that in fact artifact is way cheaper, with $60 bucks you get 40 packs on Hearthstone which won't get you even half of one set. But the big problem is that Artifact is just boring so it doesn't matter if you can enjoy the full game just for $60 cause no one wants to play it lol. It's not that people are not willing to pay the $20 entre fee to then purchease the cards (Which most people don't want to btw) but it's also the fact that people that own the game and already paid for all this cards are not even willing to play it anymore.
On top of that the game is just slow as it gets, even faster decks have average times comparable to Control Warrior so it's not something you can pick up casually and be done, you need to commit to play even 1 game. So you can see why no new players are buying the game and the old ones stopped playing months ago.
I read a very accurate statement on a youtube video a couple of days ago, it said "Valve would've pulled the game out of steam months ago if it wasn't their own game" and it's true, the game is an absolute failure on almost every aspect but complex core gameplay for hardcore players. I'm even more sorry for Hearthstone pros like Stancifka that jumped too prematurely to Artifact thinking it would be the new shit and now they lost most of their audience, there's no competitive support for the game and pretty much ruined their entire careers.

My thoughts exactly.

One of the artifact streamers or viewers
it's a dead game . (died before even born ) because the greedy father (Gaben).
2 streamers and 6 viewers? You got lucky OP. There are many times where it is at 0 streamers and 0 viewers.
