I have played many games today of MtG Arena (with my powerful and beautiful black and white vampire deck :P) and the mere fact of thinking about playing Hearthstone again gives me cancer. :(
Well to be honest that doesnt say much as everything seems great when compared to hs. :P
Seriously though, should i download it?
Yes, you should do it... NOW!!!!!! Hehe. :P
They are giving entire decks as free rewards (among with a lot of gold, packs and random cards of any rarity) and I don't know until when it will last. Today I was rewarded with a black and white vampire deck (with very strong cards) which I improved a lot just by crafting cards of different rarities for free. And guess what? Tomorrow they are going to give me another entire free deck, LOL. It is great, just great... :D

My problem with Magic is many games you win or lose only because you or your opponent don't draw lands enough or too much, HS don't have this kind of problem.
In ladder, you can play games at the best-of-three against the same person, minimizing this problem (just like in real life tournaments).
It's super generous. The rewards system for a game like this is amazing, but you have to check it for yourself dude. ;)
I assume you're joking. I'm a big fan of Magic (been playing for 10 years) and have enjoyed playing MtGA since closed beta, but "super generous" is NOT a good explanation of this game. I would think you know that many people on the Magic: Arena forums consider Arena's economy to be one of the worst of all digital card games. I play both games and enjoy both for different reasons.
BTW, I definitely recommend downloading the game if you are a fan of strategy card games, but if you're looking for an "amazing" rewards system, I would look elsewhere.

I'm fully aware of that, and I think they are f...king crazy. The game is not going to be 100% free, having a full collection shouldn't be the goal of a free to play player, and most people are complaining about exactly that. Ridiculous!!!! The only problem are the gems, that cost real money, but well, if you don't have plans to participate in most events, you can ignore them.
I started playing yesterday and I have already a viable deck. I have been smashing people at low ranks with it (hehe :P). and I intend to continue expanding and improving it to being able to compete at higher ranks without any problems. I really can not ask for something better. I repeat again, having a full collection shouldn't be the goal of a free to play player in a game like this.
I already stopped playing hs months ago for mtga. The main appeal of mtga are the limited formats for me, something that hearthstone doesn't hold a candle to.
The fact that HS is on mobile is HUGE. I mean HUGE. People may underestimate how much this matters. I can play on my phone or iPad anytime for a quick game. Way too valuable to give up. Plus the gameplay in MTG is very complex. I’m a PhD candidate in Psychometrics, so I think I’m pretty good at solving problems, but I dont play these types of games for a massive brain teaser. HS, while flawed, is a great game, and the mobile options make it quite unique.
Ok, I finally decided to play a game of Hearthstone after enjoying a bit more this amazing game... and Jesus Christ it sucks so much in comparison with MtG Arena it is ridiculous. Thinking while playing a digital card game feels so good... MtG Arena is perfect for anyone who wants to use their brain. :D :D :D
Damn, I wish this forum was about card games in general and not just Hearthstone, I don't want to leave this amazing community...

Can you please explain the something to me mate? I have never played magic before and there are two things i do not get.
1st) The sacrifice land cards. I have the necessary lands to play these cards but for some reason sometimes i just can't. The card just hovers but i can not seem to get it in play.
2) The counter cards (spells/buffs that are triggered in opponent's round). Again sometimes i can play these cards, sometimes i can not when i have necessary lands to play them and the effect required is triggered.
I know i could google it but no time for dat. I decided to use shermanwiki instead :P

MTGA now holds the title for the most expensive, most P2W, least generous F2P, digital CCG ever produced. Mind blown.
That is what people say when they don't put in consideration how good the game actually is. As I said before, for a game like this, the rewards system is super generous. You can't compare it directly with other digital CCG like Hearthstone because MtG Arena gameplay is incredibly superior to them.

Strange... Could you please tell me which cards are you trying to play in each situation, and which cards are you exactly trying to target with them? Also, I think there are no cards currently in MtG Arena that allow you to target and sacrifice a land (although I could be wrong), but there are some that allow you to destroy them, which is a different thing.

Well i do not know what the permanent income will be but the "entry" gifts are on par with those of shadowverse. Free decks (with great cards) 2 booster packs per day and tickets to buy cards of your choice from all rarites put the hs entry gifts to utter shame.

Nevermind with sacrifice i meant taping/using. Just a poor choice of words. Anyway my confusion arose from the miconseption that number on the cards was the multyplier for the lands. For example i thought that 4red meant 4xred lands while it means 4 mana+1 red mana. They made shitty work explaining that in the tutorial lol XD.
The game is great however and i've become addicted so i guess i will probably throw a considerable amount of money in it. Great art, great mechanics and the interface is clear and awesome. For the first time in my life i am happy that i lived in a country where card and board games in general are dead. If Greece had a huge MTG crowd i would have become an addicted since my teen years and i would starve when i was a university student lol.

Haha, I'm glad you like the game jainaishot. Good luck opening your packs and getting amazing free rewards!!! :)
Duplicated post.

I think they can, because of the big fanbase they acquired over the years. We will see how this will work out.
Always expect the unexpectable!

I've played through a few beta resets, and can safely say that Arena lacks a lot of fun that was in the Duels games.
Haven't played Arena for a few months (since I started playing HS?), but I think the only game it may affect is MtGO.

I tried and like a lot, the game interface is clean and well optimized.
Running very well with integrated graphics.
I’m a big fan of it. My favorite part is that, even without a big collection, it’s still tons of fucking fun.
