Someone needs to make a YouTube compilation:" proplayers quit HS-Gwent-Monopoly to play Artifact". I remember watching a couple of "Why I'm quitting XX to play Artifact".
Next step will be nerfs, when players who bought an OP deck for 50 dollars and are already angry because it now costs 20 will uninstall Steam forever.
wow looking at comments "the game that will derank hs as the best ccg" looks like a total joke, disn't even watch any gameplay, just the card acquisition system sounds terrible.
a paid game where you need to pay more money for core features feels bad
if you want a hearthstone esque game I would reccomend shadowverse it's free, and have a lot of freebies, but it takes time to build up a collection. I played it 2 years ago when msog was released ( the meta was terrible back then)
I played both shadowverse and hs, but in the end I returned to hs cause I felt both games are similar but I prefer the hearhstone feel to some waifus
Do you think there will be balance patches for the game soon?
How will they do that? How will they nerf cards you literally paid for just a day ago? Will they give you a free ticket to another card? Or they just nerf them and then your $$$ value you spent will just dissappear?
Last night HS got 200.000 viewers on Twich because of the new expansion.
On the other hand, very poor numbers for Artifact so far. I imagine lots of players buy the game, open their packs, waste their free tickets and when they realise that's all until they pay more... they come back to HS or Magic. (Or even Gwent that, let's face it, it's bloody generous).
This Artifact chart is really bad news for devs. Each day less and less people playing. That means you have less and less chance to be fairly matched (is there even a matchmaking in Artifact?)

I'm pretty sure Valve will give you your money back in Steam credit. A great system where Valve loses money but the players still get angry.
Also with this system the collateral damage of nerfs is even worse. If a deck or a hero stops working because of a nerf you are losing much more than just that card, you may have bought a 30 euros OP deck that now is a bad Tier 2.
Artifacts are things dug up from an ancient past, so they're only exciting when you first reveal them. After that you set them in a museum never to look at them again, except maybe that one time during a holiday. It feels exactly like how it's called, good one Valve! #kappa, but seriously.
Nice vid about costs (excluding ftp grind which is good for clarification for those who wouldn't consider it and only wanna know the prices), shows how expensive HS if you want all cards / tournament decks. Obv MTG is in its own league. Didn't know Artifact is that cheap currently.
Piss poor attempt to defend Artifact's economy. It is also important to note that you need to pay every single time when you play any format that isn't free. Also, you don't need every single card in HS. Generally each set has about 10 good cards and that is it. Other cards are trash.

It's cheap, but still terrible value. Makes me giggle when I think about how people were saying this would kill HS XD

I wasn't planning on going for a run today. But those cops came out of nowhere.

This video is quite BS. It expects, that in HS you will buy packs for money only, then you disenchant all the cards you found in packs and then craft the decks from the dust. I do not know how others, but this is not how I do it. You can get all commons&rares and important epics and legendaries crafted from FP mode,

as said, "if you want all cards" (yes, not all of them are good, but I personally enjoy the chance to try a great number of different decks to get a feel for different approaches, for example), and "excluding grind" (or daily coins in general).
So yes, it didn't take those into consideration but still proved some realistic numbers along the right ballpark. Still, I was surprised to learn how much the whole Artifact collection & competitive deck costs. So really don't think it's "BS" only because it didn't take into account the coins you get from dailies. Just because someone managed to build their collection as F2P in HS, doesn't mean everyone is going to do that, or that it's the only way to equate these things.
I did not talked about the whole collection cost only. The guy in the video calcullated a HS collection cost in a way, that 1. You buy packs for money 2. You disenchant ALL cards 3. You craft the cards again for 1/4th value I'm quite sure no one does it like this.

The approach is still majorly flawed.Let's look at the "starting costs".
As to Hearthstone, his approach is to guess the dust for a Tier deck (6000-12000 dust) and dusts every package for 100 dust. Then he assumes 3-6 Tier decks and calculates the result to 200-600 $ (I even think he miscalculated, but whatever).
The problem is, that is not what a deck in hearthstone costs. Fort instance, he just omits that different Tier decks have often the same cards ( The Lich King , Tar Creeper , Saronite Chain Gang , ...) . But more importantly, you are going to get cards from opening them in packs and that is a lot more dust per pack than he bases his calculations on (actually 4 times the dust). And finally, he disregards the fact that you get dust and cards from playing the game for free. It's a pity you can't do it in artifact, but that is not a reason to omit the automatic value gain in Hearthstone for just playing.
When he considers Artifact, he uses the prices for the decks and is happy to only play 1 deck for 27-47 $, while for hearthstone he wants to have 3-6 decks... looks slightly biased to me.
Same applies to the costs for the keeping the game up to date. He is happy with playing 1 artifact deck, but wants 3-6 Tier decks in hearthstone.
I still fail to understand what was Valve thinking. You need to motivate your players to play. Let's imagine a hypothetical player that enjoys both Hearthstone, MTGa and Artifact. He was very busy for the last few days and had no chance to play any of those games. Now he got an hour or two to relax. What will he choose? Hearthstone and MTGa that have a bunch of unfinished dailies or Artifact were he needs to pay money to play the draft?

My wish is that people who hate hs and love MTG, just go outside this forum, but that's not possible.
Rastakhan s a cool expac.

Main issues of artifact as I see them:

It's still ok to be a weeb and play HS.

Yeah, this comparison is bullshit.

The number daily players of Artifact, the Hearthstone destroyer is down to 7 500 (from 60 000 in the first few days).
I'm curious how will Valve respond.

Pay more to popular streamers and promise even larger prize pools for tournaments. Isn't it how you make games popular?
Arti what??? LUL
I think their biggest problem is that it's not very watchable. They need to figure that out.
Wow boy artifact really killed hearthstone lmao 🤣 that game garbo .
