Have been trying out the Elder Scrolls Legends game. There are many similarities with HS but one feature Legends has which I think might be an interesting idea to implement in HS is a card draw mechanic around health loss. For example, say your hero has 30 health. When your hero is reduced to 25 health you immediately draw a card even if its still your opponent's turn. Same occurs at the health thresholds of 20, 15, 10 and 5. Also, certain cards have an attribute whereby if they are drawn as a result of this health loss mechanic then they are immediately played to the battlefield. This feature might mitigate the prevalence of face decks and also give Blizzard more leeway to make cards that suit face decks. So I don't necessarily see it as a bad feature of any play style. Anyway, just a thought.
The rune system really helps a lot vs aggro, along with prophecy cards that can be drawn then. Not to mention that you can overheal. Unfortunately, we won't see anothing like those features in HS ever, it's designed to be as simple as possible.

I don't know. Legends clearly mimics HS features. And Blizzard has lifted concepts from other games in the past. I remember when Warhammer Online came out and then WOW adopted many of the guild and scenario features that WO used. It could happen! :D
It will never happen. It would literally change hearthstone into an unrecognizeable game. It's bad game design to drastically change core mechanics like that.
Expect new card mechanics like Adapt in the future, but not whole gameplay shifts like drawing cards with health loss.
Note to the mod that moved this: Not sure how a post suggesting a new mechanic for Hearthstone got moved to the "Other Games" forum. The discussion here is about how the feature would impact Hearthstone. Tells you this is a thread about Hearthstone not some "Other Game".
As for some of the responses, Blizzard has introduced new mechanics all the time. Discover, Inspire, Adapt and cards that change hero powers or modify hero powers. This would just be another mechanic change allowing for more diverse player experience. Don't see anything wrong with that.

All of those examples are card-based powers. If you're suggesting they print a card with this effect, of course that's certainly a possibility. It's VERY unlikely, however, that they would change the core mechanics of the game to have this effect all the time.
I like the feature of card draw with health loss. I don't think they would do the prophecy mechanic where the card can be played immediately, during your opponents turn. I think it is more likely that Blizzard would have a card drawn using that mechanic, it would then cost 0, to be played for free during your next turn.

I would rather have the "If the top card of our deck is X, do Y" mechanic than the rune system, especially the way that it can be abused in ESL
The card draw is fine but the prophecy mechanic ruins that game for me. "You won the lottery! Here's a free removal spell!"
its ta like the worst, swingiest ring effects in HS popping every 5 damage.
No they would never do that it basically change the mechanic core

Rats on a sinking ship, that's why it was moved...

Unfortunately, even if Blizzard adopted this, you'd still be drawing Hearthstone cards...
