Hs got a lot to learn from shadowverse.. tbh I think the debs of shadowverse took the feedback blizzard didn't and made it to their game definetly better experience than hs so far..the arena feels so much better and most of the time I actually want to go second.. the main reason aggro is less oppressive is the lack of broken 1 drops! Also storm(charge) is much more costed mostly behind a requirement or a high cost follower.
Wish blizzard would make changes like this to make the game more skillful and user friendly..
After only playing a week, I have unpacked 14 legendaries not including ceberus and 1 copy of lord of the flies that I bought. I believe I got a legendary everyday and some days I got 2 without spending money on packs.
Hearthstone has been my primary game, but considering how the recent trends have been in both the games I might end up playing shadowverse more than hearthstone
ive played shadowverse since release and have gotten hundreds of free packs. I spend 99 cents a day and buy the 50 crystal pack. I usually get 2-3 packs a day with the quests and the rupies. The game is way better than hearthstone in terms of everything. Hearthstone is doing the quests and thats it. Nothing more to say.

Holy shit, so you spend $30 dollars a month for a mobile game??
4. You can reroll the 8 free packs you get for doing the very brief tutorial. If you get some legends you want then keep. Otherwise delete game data, and start again. Or don't, this can be time consuming. I didn't. I got 4 legends in my first go, and that was enough for me. Up to you.
I guess they gave out a ton of free packs recently because after the tutorial I opened something like 39 packs from 3 different sets. Problem is I only got 4 legendary cards from those packs, so I'm assuming they changed drop rates.. 4 legendaries out of 8 packs is absurd, I wouldn't want to play if that was even possible.
This game's visuals are beyond bad, and I can't stand them. Too bad, because I enjoy having more card game options to play.
That's the problem with so many of these knock-offs. They completely lack any of Hearthstone's charm, humor and visual appeal.
Rules/strategy nerds may get all excited that there's less RNG (or whatever other pet peeve prompts the developer to try to improve upon Hearthstone), but without the strong personality to back up the gameplay, you're never going to have any kind of mass appeal. Doomed to the niche -- enjoy being a footnote in the history of gaming.

Yep true, but I do think Shadowverse's target market is not NA anyway. Sure, it will have a following here, but the core market is in Asia where it will make a killing I think.
@Shissan; that's my impression of it. Apparently they did rake in $100mil last year after releasing in June, so whatever they're targeting is working (compare that to HS which apparently raked in ~$400mil); I guess over the next year we'll see if that was an anomaly or not, but it seems like they're probably here to stay.
The way I see it, more competition is good. While I don't think we're ever going to see the f2p friendliness SV is displaying, Team 5 could overhaul their model a bit since it just seems like it's becoming less accessible for f2p; Eternal does it well, SV does it well, and Elder Scrolls seems to at least do it a smidge better. Ladder designs across the board are a bit less grindy than HS, which is another area they're really needing to make adjustments to for the sake of remaining relevant.

Articles I suggest every player reads to improve at the game;
Well the game is made in Japan and so the aesthetic is primarily made with them in mind. Anime cheesecake, pretty detailed and good quality. However not to the taste of many westerners. Personally I prefer Hearthstone's art style and presentation, but I also don't have anything against anime style either and enjoy Shadowverse's visuals a lot.
Note in a few days there will be a patch concerning language options. Likely being able to select between English and Japanese audio in game, along with perhaps subtitles.
I recently started playing Shadowverse (just to change things a bit up) Pros: Much better balancing, more cool mechanics, the difference of each class is more significant, they're not afraid of having combo decks. Cons: Less good/cool visuals, a bit too much anime-sexy-art stuff going on.
Shadowverse, the most generous ftp ccg ever, is soon releasing its next expansion "Tempest of the Gods"! New story chapters have recently been added, and more achievements for tons of gold as well.
Here is all the cards, with descriptions, full size and HD!
Yeah I've not put a cent into the game and have am already at A1 rank. So much more fun because you can play a tier 3 deck and still have a chance to win. Also you don't feel like you have lost of turn 1 or 2 if you don't play anything. Much more balanced and just way more fun. Also I prefer the art style but that's just preference...but anyone who says the game is better but I can't play it cos of the art is clearly not interested in gameplay ;)

So far I'm enjoying it more than I ever enjoyed Hearthstone, and seems like it's easier for FTP to be competitive
