I don't think Bethesda and Direwolf will fuck up this amazing game. It feels as RPG universe way better than Hearthstone does. You feel more progression/rewarded as leveling up enhances your basic set and give you some good cards. Their mechanics are quite good and the lack of half of the gameplay being in the hands of RNGesus is great. There are somethings to be worked and balanced (Soulrest Marshal is kinda OP right now), but they are gathering feedback on their forum and balancing the game so far. I just wish for more card draw in some atributtes. And some stats rebalancing (some cards few underwhelmingly week due to their stats, even with a good Summon effect)
I am actually surprised Bethesda, which last games were utterly mediocre (not bad, just mediocre), made a good CCG. Definitely more fun than Hearthstone. Since I play HS for long time and established a solid card collection, I won't leave it completely, but surely will dedicate more time to ESL. Karazhan seems very disappointing, and doubt it will make game more fun, while ESL seems fresh and much more skill-based.
I fear it might go the way of MMDoC. Before playing HS, I've used to play ubisoft's CCG for several years, which imo was way superior to HS, but died due to shitty management (they literally broke and buried it) and lack of advertisement. I don't know if Bethesda has smarter marketing than Ubisoft. Hopefully. For some reason good MMOs die too often while mediocre ones stay alive for a decade.
Betrayer... In truth, it was I who was betrayed. Still, I am hunted. Still, I am hated. Now, my blind eyes see what others cannot: that sometimes the hand of fate must be forced! Now go forth... unleash the tides of Doom... Upon all those...who would oppose us.

Execute, fireball those are the only ones I remember, I played the game only for about an hour. Also they share a key word or two as well. Thou to be fair how else are you going to name the charge mechanic.
Well, pretty much every RPG based universe has some sort of similarity. Execute, Fireball are most common. However, they both work in different way, despite having similar name.
Execute here can only destroy creature with 2 power or less. Fireball is more of an aoe damage here. Deal 1 damage to all enemies.
Also, The Elder Scrolls came out before Warcraft, so.

Execute and Fireball. What a wonderful example. Kappa Seriously - Fireball is a term widely used in fantasy, and besides how would you name a ball of fire in different way ? And Execute is just a word for finishing off smb, no ?
And as for your previous post - no one will see it as a copy if they have a brain and ability to compare, cause it's not even close to being one

How do you know Kara won't be fun? The bosses are pretty interesting, the legendaries are fun and the rest of the cards are pretty good. Yeah they kinda made a mistake with a couple but they're still learning as they go here. I have a lot more trust in Blizzard than I do Bethesda, cause they just have a really bad track record with multiplayer games and I can already see some red flags with ESL
ESO terrible? Okay. It sure was a mess during launch, but overtime, it turned one of the best. In fact, way better than other current MMORPG games there, including Guild Wars 2.
Guess people are still mad because there is no new Elder Scrolls SP game.
Hearthstone is good. No one is denying that, but instead of getting better, it is only going down into gutter. On top of that, Blizzard doesn't give a shite about you or the community.
With each expansion/adventure, it's only getting worse. Even this upcoming One Night in Karazhan has some of the worst cards.
TES: Legends is nowhere near perfect either, but atleast it is off to a promising start and has more depth that Hearthstone will ever have.
I agree with you about The Elder Scrolls: Legends, its a great game and it might be better than Hearthstone :)
But, don't think for a second that Bethesda will "care and listen" to their customers anymore than Blizzard does or does not. All companies only care about making the MAXIMUM returns on their investments (aka making a ton of money), and it won't be any different with The Elders Scrolls: Legends I'm afraid.
Well, if they want it to be a success and make more money, then they will listen to community feedback.
It's win-win for all, so it'll be only stupidity on their part if they mess this. It has lot of potential.

Simply put: I don't like it.
The strongest card is probably Barnes, and I hate this card as it is gonna be responsible for a pretty BS RNG when you do a 4 turn mini rag or something like that. You probably can't build your entire deck around this card (and you should not), so his plays are pure RNG, it could be 3/4 + 1/1 and it could be mini rag/sylv/ysera and change the tide entirely. Strong card, bad design.
Prince Malchezaar is the only really interesting legendary. Most of the cards add nothing new and exploit the old effects (hey let's make a Museum Curator for Dragon decks, let's make a Shadow Word: Pain on a stick, let's make Resurrect on a stick, let's print an absolute junk noone would care about like 3/2 taunt - why waste a card slot on that? It is not even changing arena anyhow.
Discard warlock: stupid RNG, since you can't control what you discard, you either mess up horribly by RNG/draws or do a lucky turn.
Steal rogue: fun, but stupid RNG again.
Secret hunter, if works, will be horribly painful to play against.
Beast druid could become the new Midrange Shaman: brainless and strong at the same time. 6 turn 10/10 is easy.
Priest is dead.
I liked LoE a lot, as it had very few unplayable cards, and most importantly, game-changers like Reno. Karazhan is just bad, I alone could make a better set.
Also I think Karazhan theme, artistically, is a horrible waste of a memorable raid, turning it into a disco party... Wtf, that's too stupid even for a HS.
Am I the only one who thinks Elder scrolls Legends is not a contender to Hearthstone?
Even though the Elder scrolls franchise has a good following, Hearthstone isn't a super hit just cause of its Warcraft following. It was the first digital card game that got mainstream coverage and attention, and thus was many peoples first card game. These card games are long time investments timewise at least, and many people don't have time for multiple games. Many are also very reluctant to just drop a game, if they have built up a big collection...cause they now how long that usually takes in these types of games.
The other thing is ESL is a very hardcore game, very imposing, and intimidating for someone with no card experience, or only casual Hearthstone experience. This eliminates a large portion (one would say the vast majority) of potential players. In addition it borrows many elements from Hearthstone which will lead to many not wanting to even give it a fair shot cause they feel it is a clone (obviously it isn't, but this is what many will think on first glance).
Finally the art is serious but quite bland, the animations aren't as poppy. What do these shallow aspects have to do with success? A lot. I think ESL will have very few female players as the D&D classic fantasy art is very offputting to most of them. The cutesy, cartoony, and somewhat ridiculous Hearthstone art is something that can cast a much wider net and attract many female players. What is just as big a negative is even in its own chosen style (serious traditional fantasy art) it is very underwhelming. There is little that grabs one's attention, it isn't like Magic or D&D (never played but I remember those monster books looked really cool).
I love Elder Scrolls franchise and I don't like Warcraft franchise at all, but this game just looks like a decent control-oriented clone of Hearthstone with elements of MTG (I don't know actually, I'm not MTG player) with couple of interesting features (runes and lanes). [Completely wrong statement about solo arena]. :) If there was no Hearthstone, Legends would be probably best game ever for me, but Hearthstone exists and I don't see any reason to try to move to Legends. Hearthstone is just faster and better refined in any sense. I understand that this is only beta but I don't feel like official release will change a lot. I wish Legends best anyway, because it's good game for sure. I hope it will have reasonable success.

Legends is close enough to HS that it will probably attract more that have played HS than not. That's a pretty huge market so not a bad idea necessarily, it also means they can afford to be a bit less casual as they will be picking up those already broken in by Blizzard. I also find the game similar enough that playing HS starts to feel bad now, because you can't forget you could be playing TESL instead. (In addition to freshness and a touch more complexity, I actually prefer the serious art, and the glitzy magic animations over poppy silliness, but that's subjective.) That's also probably why Bethesda has consciously made rewards just a bit better than HS, particularly front-loaded for new players, so you again can't forget how grindier HS feels.
So yeah most players will have to choose, but there will be enough that choose the newcomer. Its likely only going to be a DOTA2 to League of Legends in terms of popularity, but that's enough to be a serious and successful contender.
Are the rewards really better? The legendary drop rate is supposedly the same, except in ESL you can have 3 copies of any legendary in your deck besides the few uniques. Plus there is no pity timer, on reddit people have opened 50 packs with no legendary. Or 200 packs and only 2 legendaries. Decks are also 50-70 cards meaning you need way more cards to build a competitive deck. The quests give about the same amount of gold as Hearthstone dailies, and it is the same system...a quest a day, can replace one quest a day. On top of that this game is more balanced by rarity, meaning having more legendaries is often a big advantage not just in being able to play a larger variety of decks but in just being stronger overall.

ESO is a good MMORPG, but they are a few years too late with that one (hype for mmorpgs is really gone)

Which names?
Because the cards are based on TES universe.

Solo arena increases in difficulty as you rank up in it. It gets very, very challenging.
