After playing for a day, I'm really impressed. Only thing what is bad - there are not so many cards atm, I hope they will release more. I got 2/3 of commons for a day, in HS obtaining cards is way slower (and more cards even in Classic set). Or they will wipe collections after beta, don't know.
Playing Red/Blue deck now with charge combo finishers, very funny. Even played Ranked a little. Great game to spend time before Karazhan, and even after if nothing gonna change is HS.
There are 412 cards in the game so more than Basic and Classic set in Hearthstone combined (378), no more wipes and don't forget that collection stats are just one offs, and you need 3 of every common, rare, epic.
My personal experience, just hitted Legend rank yesterday and tbh i never had a blast in hearthstone like this 2 weeks in TES: Legends. Like i hitted legend in hs 5 or 6 times during 2,5 years of playing but not even once it was so much fun, that says a lot to me and i don't even have half of the cards that i want to try in my decks. I will still play HS because my collection is so big and i spend quite a good money into this game, but it will be much more casual and in near weeks probably just dailies because if they didn't fuck up Legends it's going to be glorious CCG. Ppl are roaring that it's HS clone. So what if it's better? Overwatch is basically Team Fortress skin, yet a lot of QoL changes and marketing made it one of the biggest games in industry.
About bland board, not sure if they plan to create any interactive things like hearthstone, but there is this thing with collectible backgrounds for your scroll, it should be equivalent of HS cardbacks i guess.
Oh, if it's 1-of it explains my impression. Actually I think they should change it to 3-of.
Their ranked system also is not that clear for me. It has some unlosable ranks or how does it work? I'm at rank 9 atm, it smth like rank 18 in HS probably. But to reach Legend should be nice challenge.
It's pretty much what ppl wanted from Hearthstone. You have 3 milestone ranks - 9,5 and 1 - each give additional copy of new season reward card (you will be able to craft it after that season if you won't obtain all copies, don't know their long term plans how to fix issue of missing few old reward cards for new players but if they left them common/rare they shouldn't be that hard to craft), also you can't lose your rank during season, until rank 9 i think you can't even lose a star and after you hit rank 9 you can only drop into Serpent rank if you hit lose streak, but few wins will get you back to your current rank, there are no win streak bonuses so to progress you still have to win more than lose after rank 9. And the best part of all this after season end you aren't dropped to the bottom shit if you hit high rank previous season. Rank 9-12 will start at rank 12, rank 5-8 will start at rank 9, and rank Legend-4 will start at rank 5 (atleast that was the thing in July beta season, they can change that).

Thank you for detailed explanation. I wish they had a wiki like in HS, with all this stuff about ladder system and rank names.
Honestly, the game is lot better than Hearthstone, and lot deeper with sweet mechanics. Right from visual (card designs) to gameplay, everything is very good. They will most likely add new boards, so not really an issue.
Cards & design - The card designs are clean and artwork is big. You can actually see full artwork on each card, unlike here where 60% of the card space is occupied with text. The premium cards have excellent animation. I might actually invest time and collect my favorite ones.
Lore - always like Warcraft, but TES is something special to me. Spent countless hours playing all games and watching & reading lore videos. It's lot richer and matured than Warcraft. Between these, I'll pick TES over Warcraft anyday.
RNG - it's not 100% RNG free. Yes, there is some with effects. However, it can be minimized if you build deck around it. Not so hard and honestly not bad system. At least you have to play and win by yourself than relying on RNGstone.
Rewards - the game is more friendly when it comes to rewards. Something Blizzard will never do. Daily quests are clean and can be completed against AI if you don't wish to play against others. Feeling tired of playing other but wish for some reward? No problem, you are reward with DUST when you win against AI in practice mode. 5 to 15 dust for each match. This way, you will never ever have to soul trap any common or rare card, instead just play against AI and get the required dust. Apart from these, for every 3 wins in versus mode gives you better reward (not just fixed gold) but also random cards. As you level up, you receive more rewards. Example: At level 24, you are rewarded with random legendary. This is great. It keeps the player happy and rewards for their time spent.
Story - similar to adventure, but since it's start of the game, take it as quick boost to your collection and getting to know TES universe and game mechanics. That being said, the story mode is short and sweet. Not very childish or flashy.
SOLO Arena - this is fantastic. Great way to increase your collection and also have arena experience. The bots are not dumb and not every run is same. As you progress (attain rank), you face much harder AI opponent. Very challenge and lot of fun.
Race/class/avatar - very good, because you are reward for what you play. Want spell-related cards as rewards? No problem, play as High Elf. Want weapon related cards? Play as Redguard. Etc,. This way, you are not left out. In whichever race you invest your time, you are rewarded for that; not for other race.
Deck building - I, for one, prefer bigger decks. What's fun having all cards but can't even use in one deck? 50 base is great. The mixing for 2 attributes brings whole new level of depth and creativity.
Rank system - I think it'll be changed when full version is released. Anyways, I'm just glad they went with lore/constellations - Mundus Stones and not just some number. Little nice touch.
Miscellaneous:
Titles -> sort of achievements, but you can show it off. I think it's good for games where you are going to spend lot of time. So wear it proudly. There are some rewards too, so that's even better. Match history -> again, nice addition. Don't have to rely on 3rd party application to check your own match history. Card collection -> already bigger. Shop -> similar price, but 1 extra card. Music -> very Elder Scrolls-y. Always liked TES music, and this one up there. Rune system -> very good way to reduce the aggro and also drawing a card when rune is broken is good. This way, you are left with more resources to save yourself. Board lanes -> in versus mode, it's normal and cover for a turn. Some might think cover can be an advantage, but it's not really an issue since you can target it with spells and other stuff. In SOLO mode, it varies. This way, the solo experience doesn't feel like a drag. Card mechanics -> similar, but some new/better mechanics. The ongoing buffs can be deadly. The prophecy cards drawn when rune broken can change the course of the game.
Overall - extremely happy how the game turned out to be. Been playing for few days, and every minute has been a blast. Had more fun than entire course of Hearthstone. That being said, both are very good, but between two, I'll pick Legends over Hearthstone.

This game open right on time, visually and gameplay is on the same level with Hearthstone in general, but let's see how their balance team work 1st because that is the only flaw of HS atm.
Most people seem to forget how Bethesda is incapable of making a good multiplayer game. Either they'll screw up the balance or they'll find a way to squeeze more money out of you (since getting their cards is just a breeze, I don't see them making enough money to actually sustain themselves) plus the whole two lane systems is ridiculous and will most likely restrict their ability to make cards, or they'll just decide to say fuck it and then people will have the ultimate kill strats that people will bitch about until the end of time.
I'm also not instilled with confidence over the fact that they got old MtG pros to help them make the game. Ya know MtG, where they massively more overpowered cards and combos than Hearthstone ever had? Yeah, have fun with that.

Is it only my impression that second player has unfair advantage? He can use this mana potion 3 times, it seems to me kinda unbalanced.
That advantage is not that big. Second player doesn't have additional card like in HS, and that mana potion could be dispelled like usual support effect. But it definitely gives second player better mana curve. May be they should give 2 charges instead of 3.
Havent heard of it until now, i read the initial description and i had to laught hard when i got to the Arena mode ... u get to choose between 3 classes and then make a series of choices to build a 30-card deck on the spot ... hm where did i see that one before i wonder :) I mean i love HS arena, so i would probably love ES:L too, but damn, cant they think of something original ?:P
You are acting like Hearthstone is somehow original?!?
Like they didn't steal/borrow all their ideas off MTG.

I'll take Hearthstone over that mess any day. MTG has gotten ridiculous and this is going to be as terrible as ESO.
ESO terrible? Okay. It sure was a mess during launch, but overtime, it turned one of the best. In fact, way better than other current MMORPG games there, including Guild Wars 2.
Guess people are still mad because there is no new Elder Scrolls SP game.
Hearthstone is good. No one is denying that, but instead of getting better, it is only going down into gutter. On top of that, Blizzard doesn't give a shite about you or the community.
With each expansion/adventure, it's only getting worse. Even this upcoming One Night in Karazhan has some of the worst cards.
TES: Legends is nowhere near perfect either, but atleast it is off to a promising start and has more depth that Hearthstone will ever have.

I was in the Beta, and it is coming together nicely - learning the attack lanes and things like that make it very fresh and will make deck building and game strategies that much more important.
I don't think anyone is going down into the gutter faster than Bethesda. Each game they put out is getting more watered down and less complex than the last. The next Elder Scrolls game is going to have about as much complexity to it as a multiple choice question in the third grade. The next Fallout game is probably just going to be a slightly interactive movie where you get to hear the voice actors talk for five hours. ESO literally keeps you from playing with friends just because you decided to be different races, unless of course you shell out extra cash to remove that restriction. So don't tell me that ESL's "Complexity" will make it more interesting because it's just going to be another one of those things that end up making the game worse because they'll just fuck it up like they've been doing for years.
