After many days of non-stop working on many 3D models at the same time, I just found 3D modeling can be frustrating sometimes, but it is a very enjoyable activity in general. Giving life to some digital inanimated objects feels good and rewarding, especially when you can make them part of your games.
I highly recommend this activity to anyone out there who knows how to draw well on paper, you might be surprised at what you can achieve with the computer. ;)
Honestly, I don't know if this is thread worty, but still wanted to share my thoughts with my beautiful community, that's all. :)
Maybe some day I will be able to model something like this. Hope that day is not too far away! ;)
I am an engineer, we did 3D modelling for obviously different things, buildings. I personally hated it and I decided to change my career and go into real estate finance. This is my experience. Excel is more fun than Cinema 4D, Archicad or Revit.

Haha. Yeah, buildings, but not characters. There is a huge difference, believe me. ;)
I was thinking of using 3d models to assist with my drawings, basically to more quickly figure out stuff like posing, sort of like a more advanced wooden model. What kind of 3d programs do you recommend for windows and/or iOS?

Sorry for replying so late.
I always recommend Blender, because it is free and pretty easy to learn.
What would you recommend for someone that can't draw? :)
I recommend you to try some modeling in Blender despite that. Try creating low poly models at first, they are usually easy to make and perfect for mobile. :)

Can't believe I haven't seen this thread, I am actually on the same boat in terms of modelling. I work as a Software Engineer but I am interested in making my own game and of course making my own assets. Following a Low Poly Tutorial on YouTube and made this out of it:
Its not much I know but its a whole different universe when you get to be creative and actually make something from scratch.

Excellent job, dude! Seriously, I love it! :)
Since we are sharing stuff, these are some low poly 3D models I made in Blender for my games. Hope you like them! :)
WOW!$!#$! What the heck is that detail dude! I would hope in 5 years I can get to that amount of detail LOL I am just following tutorials right now. This is Gold!

Haha, thank you very much, Rino! :)
Don't worry, considering your potential, five years will be more than enough time for you to do much better things! :)
Obviously, these models are fully animated, which is a very fun activity to do too.
Here is the Sky Dragon in action, fighting against the main character of the game, hehe. :P

For sure buildings are more boring to model yes. But I didn't like it. I love Excel.

Omg this is so awesome!
I feel like i could finally make my own Heroes 3 game i've been dreaming about for 20 years.
Though I bet i'm gonna give up quickly when i try working on it lol. Because of my lack of skills.
Don't worry, you will learn and improve over time, just be optimistic and work hard.
In the end, you only need passion to make good games, always remember that.
So yeah, you can do it, bro! :)
Today I started modeling Hugh Jackman's face and wanted to share it. :)
Honestly, it is not a hard thing to do, altough there is a lof of room for improvement.
Also, I still have a lot of work to do if I want to model the whole body and fully animate it, so whish me luck! :P
