"Nudity is sparse and not sexualized— contrary to earlier concerns: but rather this artistic choice represents very dark thematic material suggestive of concentration camp-type visuals of victims, a harrowing portrayal of the corruption of the Elves by dark powers to ultimately become Orcs [if this plays out fully it will may well be one of the most ambitious things undertaken by this production and perhaps by anyone attempting to adapt Tolkien]."
Artistic choice my ass! I mean, isn't it supposed to be a TV show for all kinds of audience? It is The Lord of the f..king Rings for god's sake, not GoT!
I'm not a fan of them preemptively covering the material of the show, and deeming it "suggestive of concentration camps" for example. It makes the show sound even more like progressive propaganda before it even comes out.
Personally though, I don't mind "nudity" as long as it's appropriate and not gratuitous. The corruption of the elves sounds fairly appropriate. I mean the uruk-hai are born naked in the original movie, right? And all the orcs & goblins are practically naked besides their little girdles and armour. They're just trying to generate interest/controversy with these stories.

MORE AGENDA WOKE BULLSHIT, NO THANKS! The original LOTR was made to be a tale of the nordic people, not this woke trash. if they want to do some colour stuff that they create a universe full of random characters and random agenda to themselves.
Wizards, trolls, comic-relief goblins, magical wolves, elves, rideable eagles, invisibility rings, anachronistic references to steam trains, magical forest men who enjoy breakfast food and are married to fairies? Nothing wrong with any of that, it's a high fantasy setting after all.
But female characters? People who aren't white? Now you've gone too far.

Y'all really are parodies of fantasy fans.
I love female characters of all kind (I'm a man without genitalia complexes after all :P), but not gonna waste my time explaining to you what is obvious for everyone.
Because we are living in a stupid period of "righteousness" in which directors are forced to make black elves with no clue to the novel. Our stupid approach to "righteousness" regarding races and women it is what is killing art, and it is what is increasing inequality.
I mean, elves were white according to Tolkien (yes there were the drow black, but they were not described as this guy) why have you to make them black. It is so stupid.
How did the corruption of elves into orcs affect their physiological traits? We're any traits retained? Did Tolkien believe that orcs were inherently irredeemable? If they were redeemed, how would their physiological traits be impacted? Would some physical traits be kept? Is the possession of certain physical traits definitive of the race, or merely indicative, and how does this square with an elf or orc being in the process of either redemption or corruption? Is race as objective in Tolkien's world as we think it is in ours?
The new LotR series will launch on September 2, 2022.

Discuss, motherf..kers! :D
Set expectations to low
It is said the TV show will have nudity but no sex scenes. Was that really necessary? WTF?

Sad times for Tolkien fans...
This is an aberration! :(
Seems like things are much worse than that.
"You have not seen what I have seen." :P
No Jackson, no Upvotes
Competing with house of the dragon for most squandered potential. I’ll still watch them both, but wokeness really stinks.
A harry potter series would be more fun to watch imo

>Female orcs.
Thats it.
Dragons? Sure.
Talking trees? Why not.

Next!
Putting aside all my hatred towards this new series, I have to admit Galadriel looks like a real badass! 😍
:P
If they start singing and throwing crockery, I'm changing channel.
