I like Stephen King, some Thriller and Fantasy like legend of the seeker, some fantasy books from the german autors Wolfgang und Heike Hohlbein.
But my favorites are the one from Terry Pratchett: Discworld.
Atm I'm reading Misery from Stephen King. It's about the sixth or seventh time I'm reading this now. I like to read books again and again if they are good.
I'm reading about 100 pages in 20 minutes on average, the book has 400-600 pages -> 80-120 minutes and the end: < The bigger problem is finding the book you want, not reading it.
Why don’t audiobooks count? My retention level is actually a bit higher in my experience.
Because reading something and listening to something are two completely different things. Each uses different areas of the brain. Yes, you can retain information you listen to but reading is different. There's a difference between reading a book and just watching the movie. Probably less of a difference than listening to an audio book and reading the book but it is still very different.
"John dies in the end" - I've never read it, but I'm sure I will now. I just don't know if this book is available for retail in my city. Otherwise, you will have to order online.
Wow, Hearthpwn is truly an incredible place! Not only do we have the best HS players in all the world ever who would absolutely destroy any of the GM's if they didn't have such bad luck with RNG, we amazingly also have people who read more than 100 books a year! A true melting pot of genius if you ask me.
Sorry, but I don't buy it. Unless you are unemployed and spend all your time reading there's no way you read more than 100 books a year. Comics and manga 'books' don't count. Some of the most productive, successful and well-read people I've ever met read about 60-70 books a year and they spend a lot of their free time reading. Audio books don't count as reading either.
You would think that people who read so much would be able to string a decent sentence together... Guess I’m wrong on that one!
Wow... Personally I read around 50, and I don't read that often, I simply read fast. It's not surprising that there are readers here. They are probably better at recall and visualization which are huge skills needed to play hearthstone well, despite the RNGesus hype that's been going around lately, it's a true fact that skill is involved in well played Hearthstone.
Latest I've read is the Lock in series. It's about a pandemic that locks about 5% of people who get it into their brains (similar to polio but longer lasting and not necessarily deadly) So they create teleprecense(sp?) robots. It mainly deals with issues of privilege, racism and ableism. Good read for the times.
I don't usually read fiction but I just finished reading Frank Herbert's Dune yesterday and it was great! I'm also looking forward to the upcoming Dune movie in December. I think I am going to read some sort of science history- I really enjoy Sam Kean's books, or chemistry text next.
People complaining bout RnG in normal hearthstone and now it hit bgs hard lol will be complaining bout that until the end of time
Not sure how that's related to the topic, but people complain about RNG every new Battle grounds release, because instead of realizing they need to learn and adjust to the new meta they blame other peoples wins on RNG.

Complaining about RNG in Battlegrounds is like complaining about better players winning over you in chess.

Right, I remember when I was a little kid first playing chess it seemed very random because I couldn't keep the whole model in my head. Mind I'm not saying BG's and Hearthstone don't have random elements, but the outcomes are definitely not "just random".
I've used to read a lot when I was younger but nowadays, because of limited free time, I spend more time listening to audiobooks. I'm a huge fan of fantasy novels (currently making my way through Horus Heresy) and good thrillers/mystery/crime novels. The only types of books that I stay away from are self-improvement books because I don't need a guidebook on life.

I read from time to time when I want to - it's like 30-50 books a year so it's not that much compared to days in a year :P
Mostly fantasy & self improvement things 50-50 or maybe something like 60-40 ^^
