Hi, I've recently stopped playing the Warlock class because of the focus on demons and I was wondering if there were any other Christians out there that feel the same way! Warlock has always been my favorite class, but I see thinking about demons, possession, and dark sacrifices as a greater evil than losing out on playing a fun class for religious reasons. Yeah, it's just a game; however, putting such things in a game seems to subtract from the seriousness of these things in real life.
Not trolling. Realize this is addressed to Christians, who believe in the existence of demons. If you are not Christian, fine, but at least try to put yourself in the mindset of other beliefs if you want to reply to a post directed to Christians.
@bootlegboots But not for people who think Christianity is congruous with real life. This post was addressed to Christians for a reason. For Christians, especially exorcists, but also the possessed, they are very real. Maybe you don't believe this, but as long as you want to reply to the post, consider its perspective - and point, which is not to discuss whether or not demons and such are real, but the perspective of Christians on the presence of demons in the Warlock class and how this relates to personal gameplay decisions.
The Christians demons are not the same as Azerothian demons. They are from different universes. Should Christians be worried about orcs? I don't think so.
@PassionFruid0923 That's fair enough. I used to be this way, but recently it's just started to bother me a lot more. But, as a Christian, the fact that it's just a game is what makes it unsettling. As a Christian, I believe that possession is a real thing, so to play a card like Dark Possession, for example, makes me uncomfortable, even if there is actually no possession happening. It's just the general direction of my thoughts that I like to be conscious of, I guess, but I also don't like "glorifying" anything that is fundamentally evil by normalizing it, which is what putting it in a game does.
I really hope you're just a try-hard troll. Hard to tell these days. If on the off chance you are not, then you are in much deeper trouble. Hopefully you will seek help and break out of this ridiculous delusion.
Considering Blizzard made millions of dollars off of a much more brutal game called Diablo, I would suggest not supporting their games. If you're not familiar with Diablo, it's infinitely more sacrilegious than hearthstone.
@Imhappyfou Interesting point. Sometimes it's difficult to know where to draw the line between personal convenience, ethics, and things we can't control.
I think christians are not supposed to believe in magic either right? So you can't play fantasy game. You can play a game to have fun. When you start actually relating to the character and act like a warlock in real life then you should rethink about yourself and maybe take a hiatus because you are probably playing too much.

Man I really hope you're just a troll, for your own mental sanity, for real.
“Real life” and “demons and possessions” seem incongruent to me
man the priest is there for this reason.
Thank you priest class to spread the word of our Lord in this sinful game.

I don't think people think about these things when they play. It is just a game.

@fbioeric Thanks for you post! I appreciate a dash of humor for an uncomfortable topic.

@AsherWare Not a troll, as you could have deduced from my previous posts.

@Anton_ Thank you for your contribution to the discussion!

Hearthstone is evil. So is Harry Potter. Cover your eyes and run back to church! You need to confess your damned sins right meow!
Obviously a stupidass thread but I'm glad while skimming I read your message. Funny how scumbag the holy class is.
