Setup my VPN software today, and everything seems to be working... except HS. I can log into Blizzard, get to the play screen, then as it's rolling to make a match it kicks me out. Tried several times. I made sure to pick a US server (I am in the US) but am wondering if folks using VPN for other reasons have caused HS to block them? Or does it work fine for other folks and it's just something about my setup/provider?
If I turn the VPN off, everything works fine, so it's pretty much certain it's VPN related. Just not sure if it's ALL VPNs.
Tried turning on and off a few times, and tried it on a different PC using a different VPN server (but same provider). Same results. Either HS doesn't like VPN in general, or there is something else going on. Anyone else on here (I would assume so) using VPN that could see what their experience is?
dude wanna share what provided you are using? i'm using ivacy and it's coming nicely atm. but i have only played using a vpn a couple of times... i try to ensure nothing gets between me and a decent connection and vpns do get the job done when you can't connect at all, but in a lot of cases, your ping will be faster without encrypting the data. try other providers on both systems. it could be their servers or ips
I thought I had found a way to make NordVPN work with Hearthstone, but it was unreliable and rarely worked. I don't think Hearthstone works well with NordVPN, for whatever reason. I am able to use another VPN with no issue.
Using the double VPN option will usually work, but that can be so slow as to be unplayable. Basically I have just resigned myself to turning off the VPN before I play. I get that Blizzard is trying to block a lot of folks that use VPN to mask nefarious purposes, but wish they would enable some way to "prove" you're a good guy without having to open yourself up to all the other things that come with a "naked" connection.
I had a similar problem when using NordVPN and attempting to play Hearthstone on Windows. I was able to start Battle.Net and log into Hearthstone, but whenever I tried to enter a game it would fail and disconnect me.
The solution I found was to disable Netbios over TCP/IP. To do so in Windows 10, follow these steps:
1. On the start menu, open Settings. 2. Click Network & Internet 3. Click Change Adapter Options. 4. Right-click the icon for your VPN connection and select Properties. For me it's called "TAP-NordVPN Windows Adapter V9" but the name will differ depending on your VPN provider. 5. Select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" and click Properties. 6. Click Advanced... on the General tab. 7. Click the WINS tab. 8. Select "Disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP" and click OK, OK, Close. 9. Disconnect your VPN if it was connected and reconnect it. Hearthstone should now work fine.
WOW!!! I know this is super necro but what this guy said to do actually worked for me! I've been in a nightmare of connection problems for almost a year and this is the first thing that consistently works!!! Thank you user-1320451!!!

NordVPN and I've been using their app rather than setting up the connection manually. Sounds like they may be the issue.
It's funny because I was expecting to have issues with Netflix but not HS, and the reality has been the reverse.
I use Private Internet Access, and have never had a problem with Blizzard games.
Feel free to add me if you play on NA! iMPose#1429
I use PureVPN for accessing American version of Netflix and I have never had any problem with Hearthstone when my VPN connection is on.
Dead but dreaming
It might be the other way around. It could be the VPN which blocks access to HS server. How about you try it with other online games?
Rongchoi's heroic adventure decks
AIrVPN here. No Problems either.
Running VPN as well. No issues.
You can use Tunnelbear. Works great every single time.

Having same problem with NordVPN. Did you find any solution guys?

Tried it and confirmed it works! Now if I can get Amazon to work with it, I'd hardly ever need to turn my VPN off.
Thanks again!
