I have made some very important sideboard against Chakki's Shaman but Windfury ain't one. I might put the full video of the Finals with sideboard explanation on youtube.

Hey there I was just wondering what role does 1x Al'Akir the Windlord fuffil in your deck or the Shaman deck in general as well I've tried playing with him and putting him down as an 8 drop if you're behind he does very little to stabalise the board.
He just seems a bit meh in my opinion but obviously I'm in the wrong here with 2 of the top 4 having him hah.
First of all, [card]Al'Akir the Windlord[/card] is a very versatile card. If your opponent is low health, you can burst him. If he has too much creature, you can kill two of them and still have a Taunt with 3 atk in play. It is also a good Taunt with divine shield when you are in trouble. Secondly, he is easy to combo with 4 other cards of the deck. 2x Flametongue Totem and 2x Rockbiter Weapon. With these card, [card]Al'Akir the Windlord[/card] can burst so hard. It's even more powerful when the Flametongue Totem is already in play. You can attack first with the minion adjacent to the Flametongue Totem, then you place [card]Al'Akir the Windlord[/card] at this minion spot. You got a free 2 damage and a [card]Al'Akir the Windlord[/card] hitting for 10 or 16 damage if you have a Rockbiter Weapon. Be careful. Don't hold him for too long just to do that combo. You need to keep having board control. The Rockbiter Weapon will not be wasted because there is a Doomhammer in the deck and they also can be used as a removal.
I hope I answered your question :P You'll see how to use him with the video of the Finals.

Cheers for that much appreciated response!
Yeah I'll like to see the videos as well but I guess they way I've played I've just never used him as a combo piece more of a stand alon legendry so it definitley changes my view on how he can be played in more effective situations.

Good evening Devoted, thanks for the Videos and comments, very informative. A question regarding legendary status in a season, did you take just one deck to the top, or did you use multiple. Reason I ask, I have been playing a similar version of a shaman deck but keep getting stuck around rank, 9-12. Win a few lose a few but can never progress.

You can get to the top with just one deck but you really need to adjust it to the meta. My deck here is so bad against rush. You can't do nothing against them. That's why you always need to change some card to be good against the meta. If you encounter too much Giants deck, just put some Big game hunter. If you encounter too much rush, just add some low cost creature and taunt. Sometimes, it's easier to change class than changing deck in the same classe but still, it's possible. :P

Hi DeVoTeD_Qc,
So my one issue with Al'Akir is that if I use a bunch of overload cards in my control Shaman deck, I find that I rarely ever have enough mana to play him. Is there a way to bypass this? Or is my only choice to either limit overload cards or Al'Akir himself?
Maybe he is still useful late game, say turn 10 or 11, when I don't have mana reduced to under 8 by overload?
I'd appreciate your input. Thanks!
