after a loooong time of troubleshooting, i found out what was causing blue screen of death during my sessions with oculus rift.
I always got BSOD with the code irq_less_or_not_equal.
I used driver verifier to create a dmp file.
I analyzed the dmp and well, that was a surprise, it identified the inkeeper application as cause of the crash. I uninstalled it and it works perfectly now.
I have no idea how this affects the oculus rift, but it does, and microsoft's driver verifier identified the inkeeper application as the cause of it.

To resolve the ATTEMPTED WRITE TO READONLY MEMORY BSOD error, check the system for over clocking. You can disable all Overclocking or use a lower setting based on the clock frequency specified by the manufacturer of the CPU, GPU, and other installed devices.
