My theorycrafting buddy says the first thing I have to decide is whether this will be a true "face hunter" deck, or more midrange-y. So, naturally, I had to theorycraft both versions to compare! Here are my current rough drafts. Which one do you think is better, and what adjustments would you make to either?
This is the "midrange-y" version of the deck, even though I still couldn't find anything over 4 mana that felt like it really fit in the deck. I mean, I guess I could add Savannah Highmane? But I tried to squeeze in a reasonable amount of value generation: 1x Shimmerfly, 1x Fresh Scent, 2x Nine Lives, Zixor, Apex Predator, etc.
I know that this version of the deck will have to compete against the deck people have been planning where you tutor out Zixor Prime ASAP (with Zixor and Diving Gryphons as the only Beasts in the deck). Not sure how it does in that comparison.
In both versions of the deck, I went with a small Secrets package, but mostly because Pack Tactics seems so good in the deck. The other secrets and Phase Stalker and Eaglehorn Bow could be cut if they're not synergistic enough.
In both versions, I also considered strongly a Serpent Egg package. It's just soooo strong to hit with Teron Gorefiend. I ended up cutting it (including Teron :-( ) from the more aggressive version, which would have used Abusive Sergeants instead of Crazed Alchemists for activators. But maybe I should cut it from the slower version of the deck, too, due to a lack of enough activators still?
So I'd really like to make a Hunter deck centered around the Scavenger's Ingenuity, Augmented Porcupine, Mok'Nathal Lion combination. Preferably with Teron Gorefiend as well, although I'm considering dropping him from the most aggressive version of the deck.

Here's the more face-hunter version of the deck. Compared to standard Face Hunter, it trades out 12 cards (Arcane Shots, Rapid Fires, Blazing Battlemages, Leper Gnomes, Freezing Trap and Snake Trap, and Animal Companions) in favor of 2x Helboar, 1x Fresh Scent, 2x Pack Tactics, 2x Scavenger's Ingenuity, 2x Augmented Porcupine, 2x Mok'Nathal Lion, and 1x Frenzied Felwing. I'm not strongly attached to that last one; I just thought Face Hunter ran that card until I looked up Face Hunter lists just now.
