So fatigue decks have been right on the edge of being good for a while, but they have never quite broken into top tier status. I think that is about to change with the coming of Bronzebeard.
First off, he is only 3 mana, so there are many possible le combos that can reasonably happen. When I looked at all the battlecries, I found that the best ones were all related to mill, with the exception of a minion that buffs itself (like twilight drake, or ancient of war!!). Healbot is insane with Bronzebeard, as well as shield maiden, because they can delay the game. Even if you don't force your opponent to draw cards, this effect just makes control stronger and increases the odds of making it to fatigue. Yet, with coldlight oracle and King Mukla you can cause major hand disruption and force a lot of card draw. It may seem unlikely, but in a mill strategy you will go through your entire deck usually and you only need to pull off one or two activations to make it work.
In short, I believe that Bronzebeard is about to transform the meta drastically by bringing on a ton of mill decks.
Oh yeah, and there is another card that restores your hero to full health, just saying.
I'm also quite excited for mill rogue after week 2 of the adventure when Brann Bronzebeard is released. The ultimate combo lets both players draw up to 12 cards in a single turn:
Oh I really hope this is a thing. I have loved the idea of mill decks for the whole time I've played but the ladder being what it has been, it just hasn't been an option. You might make rank 12-10 but will struggle afterwards.
I will 100% be retrying these ideas again with my usual enthusiasm - I even crafted Bolf Ramshield when TGT came out just so I could try him out with Gang Up. It turns out that this was a horrible idea and I should have just crafted a golden Captain's Parrot for all the good it did me. But that didn't dampen my enthusiasm. Much.
Between all the other lunatics out there who also believe mill is the way, we must be able to get this to work and if it's not this expansion then it will definitely be the next. Or the one after that but definitely then.
I love playing Mill, I play all archetypes. Brann will be a huge boost to Mill Rogue and also Fatigue Warrior(Healbot, Coldlight, Armorsmith, Iron Juggernaut synergy). It's true that with Brann you can do 16 draws in one turn, but that's really overkill and 12 draws is aready 78 fatigue damage. I think he will just be a great option, sometimes to mill, sometimes to heal. I'll definitely be shadowstepping Brann as long as the Coldlights are ganged up.
But there will never be a "mill meta" because the decks are too complex and too hard to play. In mill rogue, there are 1000 combos and synergies, you have to have a lot of experience and even then you are unfavored. As opposed to something like Secret Pally where if you just play minions on curve, you will win probably half the time.
Finley is going to be amazing in Mill Rogue because it's a deck with absolutely no weapons or weapon buffs... pretty much any hero power except warlock is a huge improvement.
Here is my usual RMill deck with the LoE changes I will be testing:
I look forward to running a good Mill deck. Mill was my favorite way to play MTG so I can't wait to see what ideas people throw around for Mill when this xpac drops.
Isn't he will work like this?: lets say Vol'jin vs Ysera
First battlecry: Vol'jins swaps hp with Ysera, Vol'jin now has 12 hp and Ysera 2
Second battlecry: Vol'jin swaps his health again and and gets back his 2 hp, while give Ysera her 12 hp back?
That makes that combo completly useless.
About topic at hand... i doubt mill will rise since you will just give fuel to braindead secret paladins, tempo mages and face huntards who all vomit all their hand asap (and these three are most popular decks now btw). So mill still be only fun deck which can work if you run against freeze mage some priest or warrior but sucks in current meta overall.
I loved the recent Tavern Brawl where you get a free minion if you are behind on health. The rules hurt aggro so everyone played control.
Who beats control? MILLERS!
I don't think that milling will ever be a top tier strategy as aggro will take it down every time. However, in slower metas it will be very viable if Brann Bronzebeard is as good as we hope.
BtG is insanely good in mill. You play it early to help with board control against fast decks, which you will never burn anyway. Against control you play it later when there is guaranteed value. 6 guaranteed nerubians summoned on the enemy turn is a great alternate finisher and insane value for 6 mana. It's a situational card... If you are holding what you need to do a huge burn draw, play it later. It doesn't affect fatigue because they draw again with each Ambush.
Thanks for respondi on the thread. I have a couple of points. One, mill Rouge is not the only deck to benefit, so will mill druid and other control decks that try to push to fatigue like control priest and control warrior. In addition, Reno Jackson will cause the meta to slow down in general, and as the hooded claw said, mill decks thrive in a slow control meta.
What if you play gang up on Bronzebeard? There is no reason to have 2 in play at the same time, but still. I also think twilight drake has to be included in a mill deck for board control. With Bronzebeard it will be a 4/15 most of the time.
The problem in this strategy is that being mill you hardly empty your hand... If you have cards and draw 8 cards only using 3, you are going to mill yourself. But i love mill decks and i'm very happy with this anyway :3 For the new card that restore your health, it may be good for mill decks but no for a rogue mill deck... (note: english is not my native lenguaje)
I think the concept of Mill decks are awesome, but I think if it ever became top tier blizzard would nerf it very quick. If they dont like OTK decks I would think they would hate mill.
If mill became top there are available counters already in place, and decks would just use it to their advantage super cheap aggro ect, otk with cheap garbage outside so they dont lose their combo.
Mill may have gotten better, but fatigue also seems pretty crazy with the release of cards like Reno Jackson and Entomb and it combats aggro a little bit better to my knowledge. Neither are consistent decks with these new additions which is the real problem with mill and fatigue right now though.

Brann Bronzebeard: 3mana no cards drawn
Coldlight Oracle: 6mana 4cards drawn
Shadowstep Oracle and replay it: 7 Mana 8 cards drawn
either second Coldlight Oracle or second Shadowstep: 8 or 10 mana 12 cards drawn
With one tick of emperor this can enable even 16 cards drawn. But than you probably will be burning you own cards too.

Brann Bronzebeard will be an amazing addition to mill. Being able to double Coldlights or Healbots is a huge boon to the decks.
Expect some to run Reno Jackson or variants with Elise Starseeker.
Better not play Handlock once the new adventure comes out :(
Jeffrey Shih: Tearlessly Fapping since 1987
S32 Legend - Control Warrior
S33 Legend - Aggro Jade Shaman
S34 Rank 5 on Day 1 - Ronald Mage
You are correct.
I JUST WANNA PLAY HANDLOCK
Brann Bronzebeard + Youthful Brewmaster + Coldlight Oracle
or
Brann Bronzebeard + Youthful Brewmaster + Antique Healbot
When you get an opponent low its a potential OTK.
