This is a thread for everyone trying to make the March top 100 list in their region(s) and people who want to cheer the tryhards from this community on. Last month I gave up when 24 runs in my average was 5.79. 19 Runs in my average was 6.26 so I was still hopeful then. I'm aiming at getting at least a 7 average, I think I'll keep tryharding until I drop below 6 when 20 runs in again.
Stats from last month:
25 runs, 5.8 average 11 x Priest (average 5.5) 6 x Warlock (average 8.5) 3 x Shaman (4.7 average) 2 x Mage (4.5 average) 2 x Rogue (3.5 average) 1 x Paladin (0 average)
This month I played 2 runs (assuming a run counts for the season in which you finish the run)
In the middle of February, after 27 runs my average was 6.3.
After that, I had a few bad runs, I couldnt stop, and well... at the end of the month after 47 games my average went down to 5.26, so this month was my worst in MSG by far. :D
I tried warrior 2 times, no weapons at all, crappy decks, 2.5 wins. Wont do that again. :D
Craziest stat: I played exactly 100 games with shaman, won 67 games and the winrate without coin was 80.77%, but the winrate with coin was just 52.08%. Never had a huge difference like this. :D Obviously the sample size is too small, but it still looks funny.
Was a 5.7 in February with 66 runs. Was 6.0 at one point before getting the next 7 runs under 6 wins.
March really is just an experimental phase as people figure out the meta. That said I am expecting a better winrate since experimentation is typically good for me as I figure things out quicker.

@TachiiDerp 66 Runs in one month, damn :o. 6.0 wins average after how much runs?
@Emanon: sick streak man! Your remark about warlock and mage dropping in quality got me thinking.
I played 2 runs in the meantime, 8 wins with Shaman and 4 wins with Mage, so 5.0 average with 4 runs. For run 5 I can choose between Shaman, Warlock and Priest. Before the patch this would always be Warlock for me but Emanon's remark (and sick results), combined with my own Shaman run might push me towards Shaman.
I was at 6.0 exactly at 30 runs in Feb, before plummeting to 5.7 with 66 runs.
Currently at a 6.4WR in March with 23 runs, 3 of them went to 12, but I also DC'd twice with an epic mage deck and lost both at 10 wins before I even saw the opening mulligan. RIP.
I'm not entirely sure how to play with Shaman this meta, averaging only 4.8 wins after 4 runs. Meh. For me it's still Mage being clearly on top. I've somehow gone to 6-2 atm with a really mediocre to bad mage deck, will probably lose the next game but, just feels incredibly consistent.
@TachiiDerp I'm afraid 6.0 with 30 runs wasn't enough for a spot in top 100 in NA
@Emanon Congratulations with your (99% sure) spot in the March top 100!
@nd_ohnoes Very nice results, still averaging 1 run a day?
@FixLord95 Sick results! Update?
My picking Shaman on run 5 instead of Warlock didn't end well, even ended up with a Curator in my deck with 0 Beasts/Murlocs/Dragons: 2-3
Last 6 runs: Shaman 2-3 Priest 3-3 Warlock 3-3 Hunter 12-2 Mage 1-3 (not even a very bad deck I think, just faced better decks/players) Mage 10-3
5.1 average 10 runs in, not very happy with it. I've decided I need my average to be at least 6.5 when I'm 20 runs in. This means I need a 7,9 average over the next 10 runs. If I don't succeed I'll stop tryharding for this month, wish me luck! :)
Posted my stats in another thread, 6.8WR with 30 runs. Final run was a 12 win priest which was a nice conclusion. Dunno if it's high enough so we'll see. Rest of the month will be playing in EU. With limited runs so far I've been seeing some really questionable plays in EU, like a dude using greater healing potion on a fully healed minion... I mean I knew with more players means more easy wins at low numbers but this is pretty hilarious.

i think warlock in the first week was especially terrible since theres so many pre-standard decks with better curves and youre just completely screwed on average if you're trying to curve out better than those decks.

Fuck mage is killing me this month. In three runs I have 5, 5, and 2 wins with the class. By far my worst class, though I have no runs with Pally, Warrior, and Druid so far. The 2 win run was a dumpster fire of a deck so that's just bad variance, but one of the two 5 win decks was pretty solid. Mage just has such a bad matchup against so many of the other top meta decks right now: very weak against priest, weak against Warlock in the control game, need tempo/aggro to beat warlock, weak against hunter unless you have great tempo start. Obviously the class is still capable of insane deck power, but I'm just not seeing the same consistency compared with Priest Rogue and Hunter.
I played about 15 arena (I don't use tracker) and my best score was 7 with Hunter. Finally I pick up Mage for the first time after the update and got it to 8 wins (with drafting as greedy as possible), two more Mage drafts ongoing, I guess will not be so high, but still, they are showing some potential. I think now that guys who claimed that Mage is now the best are probably right.
I think Meta might be changing some very aggressive Hunter decks which didn't work so well at the beginning of the season might work much better now with more greedy decks played.
Hunter and Paladin feel really strong to me right now, mainly because of the buffing mechanic which is by far the strongest out of the Jade/Buffing/Potion split we got in Gadgetzan unless you can craft a truly incredible Jade deck - did beat a guy who played at least 8 Jade cards.
Is it 30 games minimum for this? I've not been concentrating much in March and already have some 4's or so so I'll probably wait until next month before giving it a proper go but, looks like fun.
Starting in March, we’ll be ranking players by best wins per run in any 30 consecutive runs as opposed to best wins per run in all arena runs. We think this will help in two ways. As with all things arena, this is something we’re going to try out for March and look forward to any feedback the community might have on this new format.
This is great news, now I can cancel out a couple bad runs that I got right at the start of the month including my 0 win run with Warlock.
Couldn't agree more. I hate the idea of so many people creating new accounts to roll high on deck variance quality. This rule change should remove some of that and allow people to just keep going on their main account.
My month is going pretty well so far (see my original post that I've been updating on the fly). Haven't been playing nearly as much as I did in Dec, Jan, and Feb, but I shouldn't have any trouble getting to 30 runs. Currently at 7.9 WR after 12. Still a long way to go and plenty of opportunity for some bad decks. From my very rough analysis of the data, it looks like the top players average no more than around 7.5 or slightly higher as total runs approaches infinity. Plenty of variance that can increase or decrease that true average over a short period (like a month). Looks like +/- around 1.5 wins in extreme cases.
Well what i think is interesting: for me it depends on which region i play. On my eu acc im around the usual 6 average (5.9, dunno how many runs as i am on my phone, prob. around 15). But on na im just little above 5 average. Though on na i play on the phone during work breaks, where im usually distracted, dont have deck tracker except pen and paper for writing down results.
Just remember, even with 6.5 average you are not even near to close to eu top 100 but on na you might be there.
Conclusion: play in a environment you can focus on the game and play on eu because its probably easier. Ah also: Most important thing is to have fun, cheers :)
Here's my update... finally hit a rough stretch of low card quality decks. Had a stretch of games where I went 6, 1, and 4 wins. Bringing the average below 7 for the first time this month. Fortunately followed up with an OP Warlock deck that went 12. Currently at 23 runs and holding a 7.04 average:
Hunter: 8-3
Rogue: 12-2
Warlock: 7-3
Mage: 5-3
Warlock: 8-3
Hunter: 10-3
Priest: 11-3
Mage: 5-3
Rogue: 11-3
Mage: 2-3
Hunter: 6-3
Rogue: 10-3
Priest: 7-3
Warlock: 9-3
Warlock: 3-3
Priest: 4-3
Priest: 8-3
Rogue: 8-3
Shaman: 6-3
Warlock: 1-3
Priest: 4-3
Warlock: 12-2
Priest: 5-3
I wish I'd had time to get more arena runs in the first week of March. I've seen a noticeable increase in the quality of players. I'm sure a lot of people wanted to check out the new standard arena, played a few runs and then went back to constructed. I feel like my average could be higher. For my style of play I'm having the most consistent success with Rogue and Hunter but my style favors a tempo style. Priest and Warlock have been good but have had some inconsistent results and for me are more dependent on deck quality. Hoping to finish strong on the last 7 runs with a goal of staying above 7 wins/run.
Hey, I took a break from HS for a couple of months and just went back. Didn't know there was a top 100 for Arena! What are the stats from the 100th (I play in America region)? I just want to know if I would have made it if it was before (my last month was December) My all time average is 6.67 wins, while my December average was 6.8 wins in 32 runs.

Great idea for this thread. Runs so far this month:
Current wins per run (complete runs only): 7.92 (12 runs)
I'm not going for top 100, just experimenting this month. Initial results are still pretty good though :)
I'm looking forward to trying Priest and Shaman. I've heard good things about those classes in this meta.
*edit: first run with Shaman was 12 :) Time to try the new Priest.
7/30 runs 7.0 win average
10/30 runs 7.3 win average
