I was able to draft a pretty strong Shaman deck last night that took me all the way to 12 wins! You can find the decklist HERE. I'll talk about some of my card choices and explain my thoughts. Initially, I went 11-0 with this deck...then I lost two games in a row. You better believe I was biting my nails on that final game, but I managed to pull out a win!
Pick #3: I wanted to grab the Hex here, but Stormwind Champion is a game winner, hands down. I had to go with the beef.
Pick #8: I probably should have taken the Argent Squire, but I kept drafting the bigger taunts and decided on Booty Bay Bodyguard.
Pick #14: Perhaps I should have taken the Cult Master, but I really wanted a second Hex and I think that was the right choice.
Pick #15: I'm not crazy about Priestess of Elune with her 4 toughness, and I really wanted to save some space in the 6-slot for Fire Elemental (at this point hoping I would actually see a couple). The Argent Squire was definitely going to help my early game...and she did.
Pick #17: I think this was a toss-up since I already had two Hex. I opted for another big body over a spell and grabbed a second Frost Elemental.
Pick #23: I had a tough choice with this one. My 3-slot was already pretty full, although I wanted the Earthen Ring Farseer. I think I made the right choice in grabbing the Rockbiter Weapon. It made a difference several games.
Pick #24: I wanted the War Golem, but I STILL hadn't seen any Fire Elemental and was keeping my fingers crossed. Taking the Earth Shock was definitely the right choice. Most notably, it saved me in my final game against a large taunt.
With the next five picks I was able to get 2 Dark Iron Dwarf and 3 Fire Elemental that I had been hoping for. I'm really glad I held off on some of the more costly drops because this is what I was waiting for. Those last few picks were absolutely crucial to the success of this deck and I couldn't have pulled it off without either of those cards.
Here are some more details about the games that I played for this Arena run. The numbers in parentheses are my final life total for the game except for losses, where I show the opponent's final life total. The most difficult match-up was a Priest, who took no damage at all (or healed back to full). HALF of my opponents played Druids and I didn't face any Paladins, Warlocks, or Warriors during this run.
Arena Match-Ups: Mage (18), Druid (19), Druid (20), Druid (23), Mage (7), Priest (15), Hunter (28), Druid (21), Shaman (21), Rogue (16), Priest (Loss, his life 30), Druid (Loss, his life 9), and Druid (11).
The two decks I received losses against were:
Priest: He used Power Word: Shield several times to gain an advantage in trades and keep his guys out of the kill zone, along with a couple of Holy Smite to destroy key cards, and a Shadow Word: Death to take out one of my big guys. He was still at 30 health when he melted my face with a Holy Smite.
Druid: He had one key card that won him the game...Hogger. It took me several turns to get rid of him and his taunt minions, while a Questing Adventurer kept growing, hiding behind all that. Hogger held me off so many turns that by the time I was able to start dealing with his side of the board I had taken too much damage to recover and it was a face-off of whoever drew the bigger minion first. Once his Stormwind Champion and Ironbark Protector came out that pretty much sealed my fate.

Wow, amazing quality at 3, 4, and 6. Great to see someone get it done as Shaman without Stormforged Axe.
