17th July update: McMitta's Jade Lotus Alliance, ft. Shudderwock, Blubber Baron, Emperor and Aya?!
Quest Jade Shudderwock Shaman with Witch's Apprentice and Elysiana?
Off-meta and very much 'old-school'. Sometimes it is just nice to play a deck that is not optimal. We spend so much time thinking about optimisation. How about just playing a bunch of cards you enjoy?
Jade Spirit and Jade Chieftan bring back memories. Emperor is a strange inclusion. Bogspine is also a curious inclusion. The deck does not run the Flurgl / Toxfin combo. Blubber Baron is hard to get value from.
In general, whilst it brings back positive memories, this is not what I would call an ideal Jade Shaman list. I lost a lot of games. Still, I had to try it, if only to experience playing Aya again!
18th July update: Boltzmann's WILD N'Zoth Big Spell Mage, ft. Pyros and Frost Lich Jaina!
An honest and fair deck. Great against aggro. N'Zoth can give you additional reach in harder matchups. This deck is not fully optimised, and so remains a work in progress. If you have questions, please reach out to Boltzmann on Twitter (https://twitter.com/boltzmann2718).
1st August update: Boltzmann's Galakrond Bomb Warrior: Taking on an Odd Warrior bot!
If you are looking for a good all round deck to play before the next expansion, hopefully this Galakrond Bomb Warrior will serve you well. Boltzmann has found success with it against Odd Paladin, Pirate Warrior and Galakrond Shaman. Combo and Reno decks are still tricky - but the bombs can really help.
Playing against bots is incredibly frustrating. In this video, the key game showcased is against an Odd Warrior bot. Or at least I assume it was a bot? At first, I wanted to concede and move on. However, as the game progressed, I became more determined (and curious) to see it through. A very satisfying win. The question of course, is how would a human opponent have played Odd Warrior differently against this deck...
7th August update: Boltzmann's WILD Pirate Shadow Priest - United in Stormwind
An aggressive priest deck? Other high legend players like Otters have taken this deck forward. This is Boltzmann's version. The most fun I have had with Priest. If it has a chance of beating Warlock, that makes me happy.
From my experience so far: - The best thing about this deck? Mind Blasts to the face. - The most under-rated thing about this deck? Not reading the card text of Voidtouched Attendant and realising how powerful it is. - The funniest thing about this deck? Shadowcloth Needle and Deckhand synergy is GLORIOUS. A Priest making a pirate charge face!
9th August update: WILD Aggro Pirate Priest, 7-0 run to Legend, ft. Shadowed Spirit!
Another video on aggro Priest. This deck got me to legend!
Stats: 7-0. My most efficient (lucky) run to legend ever.
It is different to the Boltzmann deck that I played a couple of days ago.
From my experience so far:
- Shadowed Spirit felt like a cool inclusion. - Not sure about Void Shard? - This deck does not run Shadow Visions or Thrive in the Shadows - I did not miss those spells. - Ship's Canon never saw play... and so I wonder, is it needed?
15th August update: DustyScales' Reno Shudderwock Shaman, ft. Bolner, Nobleman and Varian, King of Stormwind!
Reno Shudderwock Shaman! Finally, I am at a comfortable point in my ladder position (low legend) where I can play this without running into too many warlocks. This deck features new additions from the United in Stormwind expansion - Bolner Hammerbeak, Nobleman, Canal Slogger, and Varian, King of Stormwind.
Shudderwock Shaman is my favourite deck of all time. Let's see what happens after the upcoming nerfs. Hopefully, it becomes more viable.
Please note - this is an off-meta deck. It is not easy to win with. The mindset I have adopted is as follows: - Concede against Warlocks - Have fun against other classes and hope for the best - even if I only win one game, the experience was worth it!
A few considerations: - Would Loatheb make a difference? - Investment Opportunity - does it have enough overload cards to make it work? - Investment Opportunity clashes with Primal Dungeoneer - Could this deck function better as a Reno deck? - again assuming Warlock doesn’t exist
4th September update: Boltzmann's Reno Shudderwock Shaman to Diamond 5: Ignoring Warlocks & Having Fun!
This deck felt like a light in the darkness for me. Taking me through the ladder, like the times of old. Reminding me of a time when I could play Shudderwock Shaman and enjoy Hearthstone... before Seedlock arrived.
12th September update: Boltzmann's Wild MURLOC Druid: A great off-meta deck to relax you on a Saturday night!
I continue to ignore the Warlocks, and attempt to have fun on the Wild ladder. A Boltzmann Murloc Druid deck helps tremendously with this. Playing this on a Saturday evening brought back memories of playing World of Warcraft back in 2014 - nearly 20 years ago - racing through Elwynn Forest and being attacked by Murlocs :-)
