Interesting video. Un'Goro is getting positive reviews from you guys mostly, but Kripp thinks differently. He says Elementals are just a worse version of Jades that have no chance against Aggro (even less so than Jades). Also he thinks the "played an Elemental last turn" mechanic is doomed for failure. Thoughts?
I don't know whether an elemental deck will be better against aggro or not. That solely depends on how reliable you can trigger the elemental effects. Becasue if you can, most elemental cards seem to aim at aggro decks (taunt, divine shield + taunt, summon two taunts)...
But as I wrote in another thread, the "played an Elemental last turn"-trigger reminds me a little bit on joust. Or not the trigger itself, but that the cards a crap if they are not triggering. Joust cards were bad, when they lost the joust. Elementals are also bad (if not abysmal) if you can't trigger their effects. 4 mana 3/5 vanilla? 7 mana 4/4 ? That is unplayable. If it will be difficult to provide constant triggers for the elementals, I think it will fail like the joust mechanic.

Edit: And now I will see what Kripp has to say...
Yeah, the resemblance with Joust is there; which is a bad thing since it was literally the worst and most failed mechanic ever introduced to the game in my opinion. The difference however is that you can control this, whereas Joust was completely RNG-based. Though I do hope they don't make more cards that are utterly garbage on curve, but give insane advantages if you get that trigger going.
The only decent elementals we've seen are the Shaman legendary and the Tolvir guy. Jades are too oppresive towards anything that goes the distance; if jade idol doesn't get nerfed, no control deck will be played. Elementals look like a high curve midrange deck that would lose to both jade shaman and regular control.
I think elementals have a little more counter play, suppose the other player plays an elemental, now you know he's probably going to try to play another next turn. So now it's the perfect moment for you to play a big threat, given that either he will not be able to answer it or he will answer it and fuck up the elemental synergy.
It's not that the elemental mechanic is weak. The jade mechanic. Is just way too powerful. What will most likely happen is the best elemental defensive cards will find their way into a Jade shaman deck to make the new tier 1.
Since elementals are going to be in shamans and mage primary, I think team 5 turned down the power level a bit as they don't want everything to work for shamans.
The mechanic on the other hand requires alot of setup, unlike the dragon tribe which is reactive, elementals are pro active. It requires you to read your opponents play for the next turn, this might be good when the meta is stale(now) when you know 90% of the time what the other guy is playing. Midrange elemental decks may work if you have alot of elementals in your deck. Control elemental decks would lose to Jade as jade out values elementals(based on what we have seen till yet). Deathwing might see a come back to deal with jades.
Elementals could have been better if it was something like "if you played an elemental this turn or last turn...." This makes them reactive instead of proactive.
But all cards have not been revealed so I might be wrong.
BTW, people wanting Kripp to leave don't know the implications of Kripp leaving. He is the most watched streamer/YouTuber in terms of HS content, and he is on top by a Huuuuuge margin. If he leaves HS, that will mark the beginning of the end of HS.
I feel like jade is about to nerf itself, with Brann cycling out at least some of the dream plays go away. Still will dominate late game, but not as terrifying.

I wish Kripp would quit. He's such a whiner.
That said, I actually agree with him. Jade is a bad mechanic.
He is half right Elemental Synergy has more potential at midrange but Jade is nearly impossible to beat at late game without burst damage.
it has to be a new cancer. normal stuff for hs.
Kripp is a perpetual whiner. I don't know why anyone takes anything he says seriously other than related to arena.
I do agree in the fact that Jade and Elementals look similar: slow basic start, burst release later on.
I'm not sure elemental are worse tho. They could have reliability issues, because they require adjacent turns, which Jades don't.
On the other hand, elementals are not necessarily a Tempo loss at first, which Jades are in their first stages.
Also, Elementals have higher immediate impact potential so far (just look at Shaman legendary), while jades is pretty much just big bad bodies.
As for Aggro, latest previews show that Elementals can provide solid taunt systems, and comeback tools in some case too.
Every Single word in this Video Is true
Jades are better
Way too early to say when not all the cards have been released.

Krip, haha, lol... Most arrogant Hearthstone youtuber / streamer...
Elemental do things like divine shield, taunt, free spells etc.
Jade are just vanilla minions.
Jade druid is too slow for 3/5 divine shield t4
Love the tribes.

Well this is Saltmaster Kripp so you never know. I still think the Elementals will take the place of the dragons tribe

I wouldn´t know... I always skip the Kripp.
