Playing pirate warrior doesn't teach anyone how to play well, play too much of it you'll find yourself taking really bad habits to other decks, and you will be left wondering why you are no good with them but can win with pirate warrior.
Ya we'd need to know your region, decklists and card collection first to help with anything but pirate war. I'd especially need your buffadin and dragonlock deck lists because even a completely optimized one of those lists would be somewhat difficult to get to rank 5 with.
I belive this only happens if you're really not paying attention to which archetype you're playing. Any experienced player can dodge this, so it's not a rule. I get what you're saying, though. That's one of the huge critics to blizzard's design team for letting this stuff happen!
Even I'm struggling with this. Am rocking back and forth Rank 7 and Rank 8 :( No matter which deck I try, Pirate Warrior, Dragon Warrior, Mid-range Shaman, the result is the same. I win some and I lose some, going back and forth Rank 7 and 8, not exceeding any further :(
I'm rank 6 in both standard and wild, but I can't pass the last rank to 5 - I only play Egg druid because that seems to be the only deck that can beat Jade, Reno and Pirate warrior. Too fast for jade, Too confusing for Reno and I don't know about the warriors, but they loose.... The biggest problem is shaman.

Don't play egg druid. It's an AIDS deck that either wins the game by drawing perfectly or loses by turn 6. Plus it is so simple to play that it won't teach you anything about the game. Yes, I actually consider pirate warrior a more complex deck to play than egg druid.
If you want a fun deck to play that can also beat everything if played right, just play tempo mage. It's way better in wild than it is in standard. I used it mostly to climb to legend this season and even hit rank 15 legend in wild.
chilling around rank 7 with pirate warrior, got sick of standard so im playing it in wild for a bit, pushing for 5 tomorrow, my win rate with jade druid just wasnt high enough. do you have your decklists?
I mean I reached legend for the first time in wild recently:) I used Miracle rogue and a bit of pirate warrior to finally reach legend lolz.
In standard at rank 6 presently with my control Nzoth Jade Shaman. I really think that reaching a high rank is all about grinding and nothing else. If you are willing to spent time and use a deck with 50+% win rate you should reach legend eventually. BTW only been playing for 2 months so this is my 2nd season lolz.

To Miracle or not to Miracle that is the question every Rogue player asks themselves XD
I played Jade Druid exclusively to rank 5 this month. I'm certainly no expert. But I might be able to offer some things I picked up along the way. Up to Rank 5 you don't even need a decent winrate, or even more than break even. Winstreaks get you to Rank 5 more than being really good at the game does.
Largely I think the difference in players who only achieve Rank 10 and those who achieve Rank 5 (other than simply choosing a good enough deck) is mulliganing correctly and thinking about your opponent's future turns.
I achieved rank 8 last night. Won 6-7 in a row. Then I lost every match until rank 10 again.
I play in USA.

I have 4 decks that I could use:
Pirate Warrior (Rank 8)
Jade Druid (I suck)
Control Buffadin (I suck)
Dragon Lock (I suck)
If you feel you are willing to coach with the decks provided, your time and consideration will be valued greatly.
Thank you!

Yesterday I was rank 8 and then I gave Water Rogue a try and it got me to Rank 5 in win streak. It's the first WR on the homepage.
I'm also having trouble with those ranks. I yesteday achieved rank 7 with dragon priest, but i can't go any further than that ;-;
Remember to state your region as well :) I can help if you're on EU, though I don't have much personal experience with any of those decks.

Step 1: Play a deck with at least 50% winrate.
Step 2: Achieve winstreaks randomly.
Step 3: ???
Step 4: PROFIT!
