So obviously at some point, possibly early next year, these 3 big expansion/adventures will be rotating out of standard, leaving (Currently) Basic, Whispers of the Old Gods and Karazhan. So i'd like to take a minute to think about what exactly we'll be losing in standard when this happens.
Bare in mind, i will only be mentioning the biggest, bestest cards that were introduced and not the ones that aren't often played (At least, not too often) If you do happen to play any of the cards not mentioned, feel free to express your feelings for them moving on.
Blackrock Mountain Being the oldest out of the 3 to rotate out. Blackrock Mountain brought some incredible cards with it, many of which are staples in a lot of decks and used to be incredibly powerful back before a few nerfs.
Starting with Druid, the most important card will be the Druid of the Flame. Which is a pretty solid minion and very powerful in conjunction with Fandral. On to Hunter, and boy is this a big one. Quick Shot will be disappearing. And i think i speak for most hunters when i say that this is a pretty important card in Hunter Decks. Mages are also getting hit a bit with the removal of Flamewaker. Being a staple in Tempo decks and devestating with cheap spells making an absolute mass of damage be shot straight at the enemy hero. Paladin loses Dragon Consort. One of the main reasons to play a Dragon Paladin because of how well it works especially when combined with Brann. Solemn Vigil will also be leaving, which had the capacity to be a very powerful card especially when combined with Chromaggus. Priest. Not like it needs to lose more decent cards. Twilight Whelp, a very helpful turn 1 play in Dragon decks as well as Resurrect which is very popular in the current Resurrect Priests. Rogue loses 2 very helpful cards. Dark Iron Skulker which is helpful against aggro decks, and Gang Up which is seeing a lot of play especially with the new Arcane Giants. Shaman will be losing its Lava Shock, which gets a lot of play as it removes the penalty for overload as well as being a spell that goes well with Malygos sort of decks. Fireguard Destroyer will also be leaving but the Flamewreathed Faceless has left this card in the dark a bit. However, it can still be pretty powerful if you're lucky and combine it with Brann. Warlock will be losing Demonwrath, which is rather helpful in board control, especially in Reno decks. And also the Imp Gang Boss will no longer be around, which will effect the current meta Zoolocks. Finally before we move on to neutral cards. Warrior will lose Revenge which is essentially Whirlwind, but in emergencies almost as good as a Flamestrike. It also gets used for triggering insane buffs for Frothing Berserker.
Blackrocks Neutral Cards.. well there's a lot of good ones so let's run through these quickly before we move on to League. Blackwing Technician, a powerful 3 drop in Dragon Decks but not seeing a lot of play in the current meta. Dragonkin Sorcerer, was very powerful on release when used in paladin and priest sort of decks where buffs were everywhere. Hungry Dragon, a very powerful and cheap dragon which saw less play with the inclusion of Pit Snake. Blackwing Corruptor, another very powerful minion used in dragon decks. Grim Patron, although not nearly as powerful as it was back before the Warsong nerf, still deadly in certain circumstances. Drakonid Crusher, a terrifying late game minion. Emperor Thaurissan, i don't think i even need to explain why this card will be missed. Volcanic Drake, although not solid in stats, playing it at 4 or less mana is often a bit of a fright. Rend Blackhand, not run very often because of the very specific requirements to get use out of him but still very helpful. Chromaggus, could very well draw a storm of good cards if he survived until your next turn, which wasn't often. and Nefarian who sees a lot of play in both Dragon Decks and Yogg Decks.
League of Explorers Like Blackrock, a lot of very powerful and fun minions were introduced in this adventurer, some even having decks built around their mechanics. Like before, we'll go from class to class and finish off with the neutrals.
In Druid, Raven Idol will be going which can be helpful and is especially common in Astral Decks. Also Mounted Raptor which is very common in Beast decks. For Hunter..Well these cards aren't really played much but Desert Camel saw a bit of play early on and Explorer's Hat occasionally still pops up. Mage takes a blow, losing Forgotten Torch as well as the Ethereal Conjurer, which both see a lot of use in most if not all mage decks. Paladin will be missing the Keeper of Uldaman which sees a lot of use against big targets and even buffing weak friendlies for that extra burst of damage. Murloc Paladins will also suffer at the loss of Anyfin Can Happen. Priest is a big loss, all 3 of it's class cards are good in their own way. Museum Curator which saw a lot of play especially in N'Zoth decks. Excavated Evil which sees play in most if not all Priest Decks as well as Entomb which is an absolute nightmare for Priests Opponents. Rogue will be losing two crucial cards. Both Unearthed Raptor and Tomb Pillager. Shaman will be losing Tunnel Trogg, which really won't slow it down too much with the current minions it has. Everyfin is Awesome will also go but that's more of a miracle that plays during Yogg. Warlock will lose Dark Peddler, which is in most turn 2's and is often used for getting more Power Overwhelmings. Finally, Warrior will lose Fierce Monkey which is a solid taunt, and Obsidian Destroyer which is like a bigger Hogger.
Like before, we'll run through the neutrals quickly so that we can get to The Grand Tournament and end this. Sir Finley Mrrgglton, used a lot for swapping hero powers early for better ones or steady shot in aggro decks. Huge Toad, a very strong early card used in both Beast Druid and Face/Midrange Hunter. Jeweled Scarab, it does what it says. Brann Bronzebeard, breaking decks with its double battlecries. Many have fled at the sight of a handlock combining this card with Midnight Drake for 17 attack on turn 4. Eerie Statue. Yes i know. It's bad. But right now it's pretty popular in Purify Priests. Elise Starseeker, especially popular in Reno Decks. Gorillabot A-3. Really not that big of a deal. He was broken good with Mech decks before Standard was released. Tomb Spider; very good in Beast Druid and occasionally seen in less aggressive hunter decks, as rare as they are. Naga Sea Witch. Pretty crazy in expensive mana decks like Astral Druid or 34 Legend (Including Malchezaar) Summoning Stone, sees a lot of use in Spell intensive decks, but sees a little less with the release of Medivh and with the current Aggro heavy meta. Reno Jackson himself. The man, the myth, the legend. Creator of an entire deck theme. Arch-Thief Rafaam. Ridiculously strong depending on the circumstances.
The Grand Tournament Being the only one that isn't an adventure and is actually just a card expansion. This brings a lot more cards to the table. Let's finish this off with a bang. And EVEN FASTER!
And there we have it! Those are all the best minions from the 3 expansions that will eventually rotate out of standard. Did you see any that you can't imagine playing without? I know i'm going to miss a lot. Especially the dragons! </3
I just want to point out how you even dare say Flamewaker isn't that much of a deal in Tempo Mage when it is in fact a goddamn staple and the deck isn't really the same without it.
Blizzard will not print good healing cards, they will add better early minions and they will introduce a new 1 mana 5/5 minion with overload (3) for shaman, since as we know aggro shaman isn't good enough. Needless to say I am not very confident in Blizzard, but I like the game so I am hoping that Blizzard will learn from their mistakes and give slower decks the chance to have some fun.
There's no "possibly" about it -- this will be happening in the first half of 2017.
With three sets rotating out instead of just the two that we bid farewell to in the first rotation, the game will undergo an even more massive shift.
All we can say for sure is that certain specific deck styles (Reno decks and murloc Paladin) will be gone, baby, gone, in much the way secret Paladin disappeared overnight. Other archetypes have a good chance of sticking around if they receive sufficient support in the new cards. They'll be significantly different in most cases, but they'll still be there.
But IMO there's not much point in trying to imagine what the game will be like without our favorite cards. The new meta will depend far more on the nature and balance of the cards we see in that first expansion. There's no way to know what new decks will rise from the ashes.
One big question is whether they'll do another Basic-Classic balance pass. If so, that would obviously shake things up even more.
I say "Possibly" because i didn't know when it was going to be. At all. Hell i thought it might even be this year that's how unsure i was.
It might be cool to start trying to find some strong decks to use when the new standard rolls in using the cards that we'll keep to get an early advantage.
we don't know for sure, they'll rotate out when we get the first expansion of 2017, so we don't know which classes will benefit the most with newer additions, my only prediction is that with shmman's early game gone, miracle rogue will make a combeback during the first two weeks to be buried into tier 3 yet again by aggro decks because of lack of AoE like it happened it WOTG, and Zoo will go back to its classic roots because Imp Gang Boss is rotating out.
No more Elise, Reno, Brann, Ethereal Conjurer, Jeweled Scarab, Elemental Destruction :'(
And I'm pretty scared about Priest in Wild. With Entomb gone in Standard, Blizzard will release OP Anti-Aggro tool or a new crazy Control card. Imagine Priest with Lightbomb, Entomb, Zombie Chow, Deathlord and new cards after the rotation hits. I hope Blizzard has some interest in balancing Wild (or at least not letting it get out of control).
Nice breakdown of the cards we will be missing, although bear in mind we will have another new expansion + adventure before then. They should be rotated out when the 1st new adventure/expansion is released in 2017 (most likely in April).
Most of those cards have already seen replacements or cards that are just flat out better. A few will be missed but it shouldn't really change much of what is already evolving in the limited format. Kara is already shaking things up more than WoTOG's did.
However there is one card i feel Blizzard should switch to the base set or make something special about it. Reno Jackson is a card that whole decks are made around and more importantly it's kind of like the 10th class in the game. Removing it from standard would be a real shame considering how interesting the deck is and how players build decks tailored around one card.

We will have two more expansions. New adventure only after the next rotation, same time as ONIK this year

No, they don't. They stated many times that some cards are ok, because they will rotate out and that's why they nerf only classic cards. So this clearly implies wild is MEANT to be completely out of control. Doesn't matter as op something is as long as it is in wild. This is reality, stated by them themselves.

they'll eventually have to do, mtg's and Pokemon's formats that used older cards followed that logic you are stating until things got really out of control, the result is too many magic cards to mention banned in expanded/vintage/legacy and shiftry and lysandre's trump card banne din pokemon and they keep a closer eye on those formats than they ever do for standard.
I really feel like we should wait until the rotations come around before we start talking about them because surely you can't ignore the influx of newer cards, I mean you say that will be leaving Basic, Whispers, and Karazhan when this is simply not true. It's impossible to determine the impact of the absence of the cards. Also I'm sure most people know what cards will rotate out anyways. One more thing, I though only 2 expansions rotate out each cycle, so only BLM and TGT should be gone next year right?
I just want to point out how you even dare say Flamewaker isn't that much of a deal in Tempo Mage when it is in fact a goddamn staple and the deck isn't really the same without it.
Tempo existed before BRM, it will exist after Flamewaker goes away, too. Is it a big loss? Yes, by all means. But keep in mind that there will also be some new Mage cards. The deck will of course not be the same, but some version of tempo Mage will always be there. Just like there will always be Zoo and Freeze Mage or Control Warrior.
I never said otherwise, I was just pointing out that at this moment, the servant of the Firelord is a must in Tempo decks.
It is unclear at this point to talk about Standard next year and to see the future of all the classes since we are still two expansions away by the next rotation. (One expansion is coming in Dec 2016, and another one is around Apr/May 2017 when the rotation hits).
Most likely, as expected, the Standard decks will change dramatically, some classes will rise, and some will fall. But don't expect to see Control decks have higher WR than Aggro decks do anytime soon.

The Grand Tournament
Being the only one that isn't an adventure and is actually just a card expansion. This brings a lot more cards to the table. Let's finish this off with a bang. And EVEN FASTER!
Druid! Living Roots. Two minions immediately or two damage. Very popular card.
Darnassus Aspirant. Yeah. That card.
Druid of the Saber. Getting use right now with a OTK Deck.
Astral Communion. The staple of the Astral Decks.
Savage Combatant. Simply Savage!
Aviana. For God Sake kill it immediately!
Hunter! Bear Trap, very powerful if triggered early!
King's Elekk, commonly played.
Lock and Load, very popular in Yogg n Load Hunters. In fact, very important.
Ram Wrangler, occasionally used for getting a bigger board in more Tempo oriented decks.
Mage! Spellslinger, pretty fun and occasionally pretty helpful.
Arcane Blast. Seeing a hell of a lot of play in most mage decks.
Effigy. Not quite as common as other secrets but pretty powerful nonetheless.
Polymorph: Boar. An emergency removal or quick burst of damage.
Rhonin. If only silence were still frequent.
Paladin! Competitive Spirit! Ehhhh Secret Paladins ehhhh..
Seal of Champions. Personally, one of my favourite cheeky buffs.
Murloc Knight, very good in Murloc Paladin, if you're not just running 4 murlocs.
Mysterious Challenger! AHHHHHHHHHH-!
Eadric the Pure! NOBODY ROCKS A MONOCLE LIKE HIM!
Priest! Flash Heal, for emergencies or bursts of damage with Auchenai.
Wyrmrest Agent, for Dragon Decks.
Holy Champion, for making healing scary.
Confessor Paletress, for making inspire scary!
Rogue! Beneath the Grounds. For proving RNG is bullshit.
Burgle. All the rage right now!
Shado-Pan Rider. Pretty scary to coin into.
Anub'arak. Cry some more.
Shaman! Ancestral Knowledge. Because running out of steam actually doesn't stop them.
Totem Golem. The biggest fear on turn 2.
Elemental Destruction. Because screw your board!
Healing Wave. Because your attempts are futile!
Tuskarr Totemic. Because why play Totem Golem when you can have Totem Golem AND another minion?
Thunder Bluff Valiant. In Totem decks, pretty scary.
The Mistcaller. Pretty rare actually, but pretty scary when he's played.
Warlock! Tiny Knight of Evil. Seeing play with the current Discardlocks.
Dreadsteed. Occasionally broken.
Fist of Jaraxxus. Also seeing play in Discardlocks for obvious reasons.
Dark Bargain. Probably being played.
Wilfred Fizzlebang. BEHOOOOOOLD HIS ABSOLUTE POWER!
Fearsome Doomguard. Possibly summoned by Wilfred.
Warrior! Alexstrasza's Champion. Commonly used in Dragon Warrior.
Bolster. Occasionally played in cheeky Taunt Warrior.
Bash. It's 3 mana.
Varian Wrynn. The King summons..your death. Possibly by Grom.
NEUTRAL! Flame Juggler. Used commonly in aggro decks. Especially Shaman and Hunter.
Lance Carrier. Occasionally used in aggro decks.
Argent Horserider. Thankfully not cockney.
Coliseum Manager. He's going back to the office </3
Saboteur. Occasionally put a kink in your plans.
Evil Heckler. Never liked your performance.
Gormok the Impaler. Showed up in Zoolock a few times.
Refreshment Vendor. FUNNEL CAKES!
Tournament Medic. MORE HEALS.
Twilight Guardian. And i finally got one in a pack too </3
Kvaldir Raider. Like the non painful version of Floating Watcher.
Mukla's Champion. Terrifying on a large board.
Nexus-Champion Saraad. Let's Negotiate..
Bolf Ramshield. The False Taunt.
Grand Crusader. See's a surprising amount of play.
Justicar Trueheart. Oh God. The Warriors and Priests will be heartbroken.
Kodorider. An absolute terror if it survived.
Master Jouster. Could of been very scary.
Sideshow Spelleater. Finally works!
The Skeleton Knight. Finally seeing play!
Chillmaw: Please don't be holding a dragon.
Skycap'n Kragg YAR. REINFORCEMENTS BE HERE. HAR HAR.
Icehowl. In Purify Priest? The new King Krush.
North Sea Kraken. Played a lot in Arena at least?
Frost Giant. Was popular for a bit.
And there we have it! Those are all the best minions from the 3 expansions that will eventually rotate out of standard. Did you see any that you can't imagine playing without? I know i'm going to miss a lot. Especially the dragons! </3

who know smaybe Bog champ shamman will see some play during next year since Ancestral Spirit, Earth Elemental and Far Sight never rotate, although with Elemental Destruction and Healing Wave gone it will be harder to pull off.

rip important cards for these damn awful decks being played right now lol
All hail Kathun again LUL. Hopefully this rotation will come faster than we can wait. Really need a change again ><
Just remember the good times!
I'll shed a few tears.
Grim Patron
Anyfin can Happen
Mysterious Challenger
Reno Jackson
Astral Communion
I wish cards like these, that you can build a whole archetype around, would be evergreen. But, I'm likely in the minority in that opinion.
