I looked at this card originally and I thought, you know, it's a card, and you play this card. The card will be that card that you play so you're playing a card. So, it is one thing to play a card. If you're opponent doesn't really have any cards, the card will screw up the card pretty hard, and that means it's a pretty good card.
Calm down man we are having fun, the anti-aggro part just makes it easier to trial out decks. Just hold back from the hate if you don't want to join you dont have to.
League of scrubs. Have fun in your own makeshift world of arbitrary "rules". I'm sure it will only take a few matches until you make a new rule on top of your "no aggro" rule because something is effective against the piles of trash deck you guys construct.
Also, it's super arrogant to assume that an aggro player (or competitive player in general) is not playing "for fun". I have a TON of fun in Hearthstone - mostly when i WIN though. I play for fun. Winning is fun.
The salt is real. :D
None of this has any affect on your play. As such, none of this matters to you. Unless a batch of folks playing their own decks somehow DOES detract from your play. If so then my apologies for ruining your life here. We didn't know we had that much power over your existence. We'll make a note for next time.
While I'm sure that you've been hurt over and over by those folks who constantly rage against your playstyle, I assure you that this isn't happening here. No one is stopping you having fun in your own games with your own decks. Even if this group WAS dedicated to declaring that you are not having fun, I'm hoping that this doesn't actually cause you to NOT have fun. Again, if so, let us know so we can make sure not to wield that power against you so that you can have fun while we do over where we are.
Calm down man we are having fun, the anti-aggro part just makes it easier to trial out decks. Just hold back from the hate if you don't want to join you dont have to.
It does not make it easier to "trial out decks". It actually does the opposite. The point of deck testing is to see if it works, right? Well, in the real world there is aggro decks. A ton of them. So if you want to "trial out decks", it would actually make sense to test them against those decks, no? ;)
And to everyone who feels offended, I never insulted anyone in here. OK, maybe "trash decks" was a bit harsh. I take that one back. I do not take back "scrubs" though. Scrub is not an insult, it is just a very fitting description - for more details:
1. your tone did not make 'scrub' to suggest that you were just IDing the group. It suggested that you were looking down on the group, insulting them for being scrubs.
2. Scrub is actually a pretty bad term. It's basically a person who loses, demands the rules change, then repeats until they win and, thus, feel like they won everything. It's the "My way to play is the only way to play." mentality . Your post flat out accuses everyone of just that.
It shows that you did not do any research on any of the people here or how this thread even came to being.
Over in another thread, one of those typical ones that was full of "oh dat meta!" complaints, I noticed that some of the people weren't doing the normal, to use your term, scrub behavior. They weren't demanding that the meta shift so that THEIR deck would win. They weren't moaning about how people are 'winning the wrong way' or playing 'unfunly'.
to use my anology at the time. If Ranked was the NBA, these people wanted to get away from the teams and go shoot some hoops at someone's house. They didn't want to compete or win. They just wanted to play some pick up games with others and not care how they are shooting or dribbling.
Now note, I'm not one of them. I currently run 3 decks regularly: a heavy legendary ramp druid deck, mill rogue, and face hunter. I love all three and have no problems using them. I grumbled when I found out my zoolock is no longer really workable (mostly because I'm no where near able to make a demonlock). I'll fight the same deck over and over whether it's control warrior or face hunter. I'm just in it.
However, I noticed that while this game is good for competitive play, it's rather poor at the "find a group of locals and just play" style that most MTGers are used to playing. Finding friends in game is messy, Casual is NOT casual, and Arena is a different beast alltogether. As such, when I replied to that particular person, I did it as half help half challenge.
I suggested to form their own group. Get out of the competition completely, and just play casually among each other. The result is this thread.
Are there scrubs among this group? Perhaps? If so they'll show themselves, and I'll be glad to help do it. If you ARE competitive, eliminating aggro means you're going to have to be even MORE specific about what type of deck you make now. They'll rejoice up until the first anti-control deck ruins their deck and they start screaming about something else.
Those won't last long. The rest will be folks who just want to play casual games. Perhaps they'll want to swing a deck around to see how others feel about it: I love evaluating things though I'm not pro enough to advertise such things. Perhaps they just want to,say, play the TB way and just play different decks with each other. Myself I just like playing whatever and don't mind supporting casual folks playing casually when the system doesn't support it well enough.
You, however, came in swinging assuming that this was just another "Agro sucks, change the game!" thread. Even if it WAS, there wasn't anything suggesting changes to the game or telling others how to play. As such there really isn't anything for you here unless you want to join or give ideas for them. Yes, even without this, you seem inclined to jump in starting something, as if a group of folks, even if they were scrubs, insolating themselves is a problem to you.
So if you got through all that, what IS your purpose here? There's no policy request changes. There's nothing being demanded of those outside this thread or the general populous. Thus this isn't us arguing against your playstyle, but YOU arguing against how others are playing. "You want to play your way instead of mine? You are just scrubs." you sound in your first post.
It's unnecessarily, unwanted, and, honestly, not that much different from scrubs demanding that hunter be wiped from the game. You can do what you like, but don't be shocked or act like "What did I do?" after you get slammed for it. Instead, go back to ranked, or form your own group if you like, and go play there. You can even look down at the 'scrubs' who 'can't handle the heat' if you like.. to yourself. The rest will do what they do here.
Or keep posting here. I have no problem writing more essays and for some reason I feel this place is a good spot to be more openly hostile to such posts, so be warned.

Doesn't it make sense that, if you have absolutely nothing positive to contribute here, all you need to do is leave and pretend this topic doesn't exist? Why pour down so much hate on a topic for absolutely no reason, when its just a people who want to get together to play causal games together? It seems you are putting a lot of effort to making sure every here is put down. You should go play hearthstone instead, make sure your rank doesn't slip as a result of us having fun within our group.
TL;DR Go away, thanks.
Back to the topic, does anyone want to play a roundhouse tourney today, with some computer made decks or super gimmicky decks? Would be tons of fun :P
So you didn't even read my post (and probably neither clicked the link because - behold - it might show you some of that uncomfortable truth you don't like), again accused me of "hating" and interpreting everything I said in the most negative way. Keep up the good spirits man!
nah. it's based on the first post of yours actually. I mostly focused on the scrub talk because:
1. your first post supported the definition.
2. you defended it in your other post.
But you got the point. you aren't being constructive. You can leave. Have a good day.

Alright, then. I see no reason to continue this. If you guys want to fight like cats and dogs, find a new thread to do it in, or do it in PMs. firekindle is trying (apologies if you aren't, it's hard to tell when text and emotes are your only options) to discredit you and make this thread (and your main recruiting post) a flame war. And he's succeeding. So, do it somewhere else. Thank you. /rant
BTW, I've got obligations through Saturday, but if anyone wants to try out some of the new BRM cards with me on Sunday, please send me a PM. Let's see if we can work something out.

Not fully sure how I'll be able to get in today, but when I come in late today I'm up for trying a few ideas. If it's a tournament though, I'd go with the makeshift arena setup (rahter than pure random, do the 'suggest a card' for all 30 cards.)

Sure, feel free to add me whenever you're on! I'll possible be on later as well.
Just to clarify, "Suggest a card" has been replaced by the "Deck helper," which makes you choose between three cards like in the area (don't quite remember what suggest a card used to do, I assume its different.)

That's exactly how it worked. Deck helper is a better name since Suggest sounds like it's for one card, but it actually just kept going until you stopped it or filled the deck.
I would like to commend everyone who handled firekindle's remarks very maturely. It makes me proud to have such people in this group. I have reported the comments they made and PM'd a moderator about having the comments removed and the user banned from this thread (if at all possible). Thank you all for being so awesome and moving past the posts instead of starting a flame war. Bravo everyone, you've done me proud :')
Let me make this perfectly clear. Firekindle shouldn't have dubbed anyone in this thread "scrubs". It's derogatory and unneeded.
That does however not mean he doesn't have any right to state what he did beyond that. This is an open forum and he is making legitimate claims about your group.
All of this is not a free pass for anyone to deliberately upset this thread, but it IS a statement that the moderators won't police this thread (or any thread) to keep out people with opinions about a topic that you might not want to hear.

While I find it understandable that this is a free and open forum, if someone's agenda is to come here and try to upset people (even without the use of the word scrubs or other derogatory terms), wouldn't that just bring unwelcome negativity to the thread, when all this group is trying to achieve is to find common interests in other people? I mean, I get it that people have a right to think our group is stupid, etc., but all they have to do is just not open the thread, no? Just trying to clarify how much "free speech" is valued above not spreading hate. Thanks for looking in on us though! :)
In other news, I am online and willing to start a fun little tourney of deck-helper-created decks for the lolz. PM me if interested :P
My agenda is of course not to upset anyone, but to make the world a better place. I also have cookies and rainbows and secretly, deep down in my heart, I love all of you <3
pretty sure agenda regardless is to troll this post. you don't seem to have anything valuable to add to this post and you're clearly just posting to wind people up. take your cookies and rainbows elsewhere.
Just ignore firekindle everyone, by responding your making it worse, not better. Maybe his intentions were not to rile people up, and he simply misinterpreted what it was this group was for. Thanks xskarma for replying, it's not what I would have hoped for, but it's understandable. Simply ignore him everyone, and any future persons who would do the same.
