I can't watch Massan or Trump because they bore me to tears. I don't think they are overrated talent-wise, but I do think they are overrated entertainment-wise.
I can't watch Forsen because he seems saltier than Reynad, and calls everyone and everything faggots when he's on one (which is often). I think he's a great player in terms of talent (and he used to make his own decks, don't know about recently but hell, I don't make mine so I can't give anyone crap about that).
I can't watch Kripp because he is too arrogant.
I can't watch Hafu for too long because her voice is too high pitched, and a lot of times she doesn't enunciate well and that mixed with 12 year old voice, I have to turn her off. I have the same issues with DeerNadia, but she isn't AS annoying so I can usually watch or listen in for a decent session without wanting to punch something.
Strifecro is ok, but he does spend a lot of time mulling over what his move will be, which is smart for a tournament player, but it kind of sucks on stream. That said, he is my favorite pro-player.
Amaz is entertaining. I can see how some people would be annoyed by his energy though. But he doesn't stream in the same persona that he uses to play tourneys, which is good.
Rdu is actually pretty entertaining too.
Kolento is alright, and probably the one I watch the most because of the hours he streams.
My favorites are probably Trump, Kolento and Lifecoach due to their analytical and consistent play as well as composed attitudes. I like sjow as well for his choice of music and control warrior play.
I don't find Arena all that entertaining to watch, so Kripp and GuardsmanBob are out for me. I can't bring myself to watch streamers who seek to entertain by means apart from the game, such as Forsen with his foul language and Lea for her thirst inducing stream. Although I must admit that Forsen has some skill and Lea is visually appealing, and seeing the latter getting a $20k donation does make me question certain life choices such as getting a PhD and working the corporate treadmill :P
I just wanna chime in to say that Reynad gets a lot of hate, but actually he's pretty good at inventing off the wall deck idea that work in constructed. I'm not a regular fan of the Salty Dog, but was peeking at his stream the other day when I was stuck in line at the post office. He was playing some really innovative decks that I had not seen or even considered before. That guy is seriously creative.
Lifecoach by far is the top streamer to watch for me (sadly he streams very little). Strifecro and Kolento are really good as well. Ryzen and Massan are the streamers I would watch for entertainment.
I think the most Underrated streamers are: Kolento, StrifeCro, Zetalot
Reason being, they are amazing deckbuilders that each invented multiple deck archetypes, this is HUGE imho. because it says something about their insight into card value, deck construction, meta progression and more. The fact that each of them got Legend rank 1 says something about their extraordinary ability to play their respective decks/games well beyond even advanced concepts. Each of them excelled during multiple meta's. All of them however...SUCK at explaining stuff.
Overrated? honestly, I'd call any streamer that exploited a certain overpowered deck overrated. Hafu, Deernadia, Legendary Lea, Amaz all fall in this category, sure they get legend but it's just a matter of copy/paste some other great player's deck and learning and mastering the deck. that's it, nothing too interesting about it tbh. Hafu definitely have higher potential than this but imho it's wasted on Arena play.
Trump is better at explaining basic / intermediate hearthstone concepts than most but as a player he's not that amazing. Kripp / Noxious are somewhat better at explaining intermediate / advanced hs-concepts than Trump. They are possibly amazing deckbuilders but both of them are pretty much "too smart" for hearthstone constructed to play. They basically figured out that hearthstone currently doesn't have a rotating meta but it's more about abusing the op-cards consistently thus they rise above it by not competing in ladder play.
Even if kripp were to go all into constructed, I doubt he would be top tier. He's not even the best arena player and he plays it incessantly.
I'm not an amaz fan particularly, but mentioning him alongside lea, nadia, etc.. Is unfair. He was one of the few priest specialist when it was a shit class, and he regularly plays unique priest decks in legend. Additionally, unlike the previously mentioned names, he's enjoyed tournament success.
The Pinnacle 3, that's on atm, is making me really dislike Amaz more than ever. He's not a good caster, he just screams, cuts across his fellow caster/s with nonsense, relies on them to actually read the game because half the time he hasn't a clue ... just grates on the nerves.
I lost count, just today, on the amount of times he's cut across Monk saying "WAIT! is that let.... oh, it's not .... " *leaves a pause for Monk to save him, because again he thought it was lethal but isn't sure* .... other caster steps in ... or cutting across while the other caster is actually commentating with a loud "OOOOOOoooohhhhHHHHH" - after a moderately interesting move was made by a player ... followed by ... nothing ... wtf are you shrieking for man!?
He shouldn't and I'm pretty sure he could easily. The issue is that his fan base tends to probably over estimate his talents. Particularly when he doesn't have a history of success on ladder to rest upon.
The very presence of this thread means that ALL of the streamers mentioned are winning, therefore, their skill is irrelevant. Clearly many of you need to learn more about marketing, self promotion, sales, business and all things that matter regarding making $$ doing something like playing an online card game, online...
Well i can watch trump and go to sleep Halfway through and very slow plays or i can watch someone i find entertainment in watching like noxious kripp amaz
They are bad, but at least better than you whining potato.
In essence, hearthstone requires no skill at all, so it's all about whose luck prevails over someone else's. In this sense Amaz and Forsen are even better than Trump and Strifecro. They're just naturally more gifted in RNG and topdick ability than the two asian ones.
Man, there have been some seriously deluded people posting in here.
The guy who said “well if I played HS all day like they do, I’d be as good as they are.” No. You and Malcolm Gladwell can take your pseudoscientific "10,000 hours" flim-flam and GTFO. There are thousands of people trying to do it right now, and the vast majority of them are failing.
The guy whose avatar is a screenshot of the one time he got up to rank 58 legend shitting on Trump (who's been as high as #1 NA and has finished higher than 58 several times) and Artosis.
The guy who said “there’s only so much skill, it’s mostly luck”—that’s why we see a completely different list of top 100 legend players every season, right?
The fact is, as far as constructed goes, there's not really a question of how overrated or underrated people are. The game rates them, you can see it every month, we know who's good: lately, among streamers, Kolento, Strifecro, Amaz, Lifecoach, Firebat, and Kibler (somebody no-one has mentioned) have all put in great showings. They are all objectively better than anyone who has posted in this thread. Maybe you think you catch them making misplays, maybe you beat them once, but if you were actually better than they are, you'd be better than they are. You're not. I do think there's a greater range of skills involved in Hearthstone than just mastering the ladder grind, of course, but I also think it's preposterous for people to come in here and say "oh, I'm better than Trump" and "oh, Amaz is actually terrible." The hard data prove otherwise.
As for those other skills—I really appreciate guys like Noxious, Kripp, and Kibler for trying new and different things, trying to make underutilized cards work, experimenting, and giving me fun new ideas (I like to brew up my own decks too). Bonus points to Kibler for taking some of his unorthodox decks to very high legend ranks. Kripp may not be very good at constructed, but it's a lot of fun to watch him do the PvE stuff like BRM—he comes up with some great solutions. And I think I learned more about how to win in arena from Hafu than from everybody else put together.

It is notable that, while Kolento, Strifecro, Amaz, Lifecoach, Firebat, and Kibler are incredible, you should NEVER make the mistake of associating rank with skill. Rank is, in any game, a measurement of progress, not of ability. Ability is functionally a very difficult thing to measure (hence the weirdness of this thread), but the rank shows that, of the players that consistently play for ladder, these players are on top. There are plenty of players who don't use ladder as a tool for improvement as much, and who instead show themselves in tournaments (or practice for tournaments) a lot more. Regularly you'll hear a streamer say "they haven't gotten to ladder much because they were practicing for tournaments.". So, while somewhat useful, the rank system isn't the be all end all of ability measurement. And damn well it shouldn't be.
Basically, a lot of people are really damn good, and trying to 'rate' them is a futile effort when you could watch and learn from them.

Trump really is not the best at anything btw ... to that other delusional guy
Your point’s well-taken, but still—rank is the only objective measure of Hearthstone skill we have (that has a decent sample size).
In HS, as in almost all games and sports (pure strategy games like chess and go being the notable exceptions), there’s a strong element of randomness in any given match. A best-of-three or best-of-five series can go any which way. No tournament victory really demonstrates anything beyond the fact that the winner was good enough to hang with the field. A long record of tournament victories, maybe, but there’s not really enough history for that yet in HS.
Basically, if you spend all your time playing arenas or messing around with gimmick decks or preparing for tournaments, you might be really skilled, but if you want to put your money where your mouth is and prove to everybody that you’re really among the best of the best, you push your way to the highest rank you can (which, incidentally, secures you a spot in the fanciest of tournaments).
Not that that will satisfy the trolliest of naysayers, but hey, haters gonna hate.
It is funny to see the old League of Legends streamers who picked up Hearthstone because it is not as much work and they were not rocking the LOL world at the highest levels.

Legendary Lea is complete shit.
Can't think of anyone else right now.

Mostly playing Druid/Priest in ranked, and arena when I have the gold.
Trump is THE BEST hearthstone player but i prefer watching amaz because he is more entertaining.
RIP yogg-saron good things don't last forever :(
I love Trump but he makes soooo many mistakes and misses lethal all the time.
