Lets not pretend that people watch female streamers for any other reason than to look at their cleavage. There's a reason why the girls dress like that and act "cute and quirky". All the neckbeard basement dwellers flock to them and throw subscription money at them as though it will somehow buy them digital sex. It's actually quite funny to see women complain about gender inequality when they can literally get paid to be pretty, and "pretty" has a relatively large berth on the internet.
Perhaps it has something to do with the prevalence of people like you? Although I must admit, it does seem to be a LOT worse in the U.S.
No one will give me money simply based off of my appearance, for I am a man. Sure you could argue for male models, but that doesn't really count. Women with average looks also can also get paid for being pretty. I caught a stream of a female Hearthstone player (Don't know her name, I think Trump was hosting her) the other day just in time to hear her say, "Those of you who just subscribed don't forget to check your private messages for my Snapchat name." Seriously? Like she isn't totally using her appearance for money and subs, please.
Thats the common too for many grill streamers, they cover their lack of skill with body fashion, they do some cosplay shit, dress like cyber hookers (Lea) and horny males sit in front of pc and watch this garbage. I know that business is business but some streamers should have their dignity..... I once checked top hs streamers and Lea was like top 5 with 2k viewers, i entered to check who is she (like I do with every new streamer i see on top list) and after 10 minutes of watching chick who has NO idea about game, shakes her boobies, prowl like horny cat and reading chat where 99.9% were males spamming show boobs, show ass, dat ass I facepalmed and left. My brain could not stand that amount of cyber hooker maker stuff... and it's NOT sexist.. its just how it is.
Ok, since I am bitching about chicks (not my fault is it as it is) so I will tell that I realy respect Kolento for example, he is rly calm guy who is a bit boring sometimes but generaly it's nice to watch his streams. Trump is fine but not in too large dose :P
I forgot about Day9 since I mostly watch his youtube videos and rarely watch him on twitch. The guy is amazing, funny, genuinely excited about the games, and came from StarCraft which I also loved. Funday Monday was the best.
He's kinda turning into a crazy cat lady sometimes now, too, which is hilarious.
Anyone who streams ladder for 4+ hours a day and not at least top 300 legend. I wonder how some of these streamers who play consistent decks for so long and basically play HS for a living can not be at least this high, when some1 like me who doesn't consider themself great at the game playing far less shares a similar level/legend rank
Women with average looks also can also get paid for being pretty.
This has to be one of the most absurd comments of all times. The number of women who get paid 'for looks' is a tiny fraction of the number who get paid for working a job just like everyone else - and even the ones who do get paid 'for looks' are still working. Running a stream is undoubtedly a ton of work. In addition the argument is completely misogynistic as the majority of male streamers are considered attractive as well. I guess they are getting paid for their looks, or at least getting paid more.
I mostly watch streamers for entertainment, so I love guys like Day9 and Kripp because they seem to prioritize being creative and having fun with the game over trying to maximize their win rates. I may learn less than from watching Kolento (which I do occasionally), but I'll sure as hell laugh more. (I think Kripp is easily my favorite, even though I'd say many of the criticisms laid against him here are fair — there's just something about Kripp's whole deal that makes it possible for me to watch at hours at a time, which rarely happens with any other streamer.) Oh, and they just have the default music playing... I hate when people inflict their shitty music on me in their streams. Like, Sjow turns Control Warrior into an art form, it's a thing of beauty — but most of the time I'd have to mute him in order to watch him.
Someone threw out an honorable mention to Lifecoach, and I really love him too — there's something funny about his style; he makes babbling about the possible moves until the rope burns down entertaining somehow to me whereas with Trump it's usually just annoying (although I do respect Trump and often find him charming in a weird way too).
Sometimes I watch Kripp or Reynad just to see them whine about RNG and be otherwise deliciously salty. OTOH, some streamers are just salty without redeeming qualities.
The only female streamer I've really seen much of is Hafu, who is perfectly average in every way, with usually good plays — she's most interesting in the Arena — and an otherwise boring but vaguely watchable stream.
But really, this whole topic is pointless, because all streamers are over-rated except for the one, the only, the king: TayZondayGames.
OK, people keep mentioning Day9! ... and it seems familiar to me, but I don't know why! :/ I think I may have watched him when I started playing maybe? I'm not sure ... but I don't seem to be subscribed to anyone of that name, so I must have a wee search ...
I love watching StrifeCro, the guy knows a lot about the game and obviously has a lot to pass to the viewers, he talks the why of every single play he does and overall is pretty nice to watch. I believe amaz is a decent player but I dont really like watching his streams.
I dont like watching kolento because I dont feel like he has much to tell, other than the standard (altho I do peak in sometimes, to check for a possible different meta list).
Other streamers... I dont think theyre good enough, I guess.
Oh yeah, Hotform is a new streamer I like watching a lot, and so is Dog.
Trumps ladder skill r Overrated. Though he is decent at arena. Krip, holy crap is he bad. Forsen just a boss even though he's pretty meh player. Amas is good, not great.
(edited for clarity 'He') Trump was rank 3 legend afaik today...so...yeah.

Which of the 4 that he mentioned?
I don't 'get' defending some of these streamers. The only reason we know of some of them, is because they've pretty much made it to begin with! They need to be able to take the rough with the smooth. I don't see where saying nothing but nice things would help them? bar inflate their egos [even further in some cases] ... No matter who you are, you're going to like some, and hate others ... that's just life.
1. I am (at the moment) not going to mess with any comments in this thread. Even though some of them are certainly less than suitable for the site, and almost certainly sexist, they have attracted a few excellent counter posts that make up for the less than satisfactory content they contain.
2. Continuing to refer to female gamers as "less skilled than male gamers" will not be tolerated further. Such opinions are ignorant, and have no basis in fact. There are certainly cases of certain streamers relying on other factors than their skill to attract viewers, but segregating half of the Earths population into an "unskilled" camp, because of them, is beyond logic.
3. I see no problem with certain streamers attracting viewers with "questionable tactics". To solely blame the streamers would be equivalent to absolving the viewers of any blame. And I can assure you, the Twitch viewers know full well what they are getting themselves into.
Forsen is actually a funny guy and also actually quite good at the game. He does make some missplays, but they're usually because he hasn't slept, since he has breakfast at 6:30pm xD. F O R S E N B O Y S

Except you're wrong. The majority of people who subscribe to women who game only subscribe to them because they're women. I'm not saying that women can't be good at games, I'm simply saying that many of them just dress like sluts to get losers and teenage boys to subscribe. Men don't/can't do this. A man with an attractive face isn't purposely showing his face for views, but almost all female streamers just have to have their tits hanging out. Stop trying to sugarcoat crap with your feminist drivel. Did you even read the comment where I said a female streamer was offering people her Snapchat name if they subscribed? Men totally do that right? Please.
He is a famous StarCraft: BroodWar player and StarCraft 2 commentator and analyst, having commentated most of the big (non-Korean) SC2 tournaments for the past 6 years. He also ran a daily educational stream like Funday Monday, Newbie Tuesday, etc. Lately with SC2's decline (he will likely return to it once Legacy of the Void comes out) he's been streaming a lot of Hearthstone and Heroes of the Storm.
Most top players won't really agree with me, but I think the old Forsen (before his stream was super popular) was capable of winning a tournament. Now he just doesn't care about it anymore.
Forsen's main problem is desperately try-harding to be 'cool' at all times. He's built up this persona, now feels he has to stick to it. It's just cringey when he calls female streamers and tries to act all macho ... but whatever the minions want eh ...
The first two are really good at the game , they builds lots of good and innovating decks and explain their choices of cards and strategies during a game; i really enjoy their streams 'coz i want to learn more from this game.
I watch Zetalot only when i want some priest decklist or priest games. He's not so good at explaining and sometimes i found him a bit rude.
When i want to laught, i watch a funny movie, not a streamer (or i read every twitch chat :P )
I used to enjoy Forsen, as an entertainer, but then I realized he was making like 100k a month or something just to fake being drunk or high and it just felt wrong
Wait what? Forsen makes 100k a month? I better quit my job, so I can get paid being drunk all the time.

Which "streamer" actually never streams yet has 11k followers?
Time is money, friend.

Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.

Trump hit #3. He has been crushing it lately with mech shaman and now midrange hunter
December rank 74 legend :)
