How are you going to cue into each other?

You add each other as friends and then challenge directly.  Achievements should still work for this method.

I thought the gameplay achievements only work on standard, wild, arena and duals? I’m currently working on United in Stormwind gameplay achievements! 

Yep, unless this has changed, the achievements only count in ranked/duels.  Not sure about Arena.

Can't get achievements playing against friends unless you manage to que into each other in ranked. Doesn't work in challenge, or casual.
