38. Almost there. Started with Atari 2600. Favorite game: River Raid. Rode BMX until Nintendo Family Computer hit the scene. First game was Mario and Top Gun. Favorite game: Mario Bros 3. Played on my friend's Sega, then Doom and other DOS games on PC. Favorite DOS game: Incredible Machines. Earthworm Jim on Windows 95. (wow 256 colors) Then Tekken and Gran Turismo on Playstation. I had a phase where I was pretty competitive on the local arcades playing Tekken Tag Tournament. These days, young kids just kick my butt on fighting games. I don't have the split-second reflexes anymore. Same with Overwatch, can't really climb past gold. Oh and I picked up Magic and Legend of the Five Rings in college. Today I ride a mountain bike and play on PC. Gamers don't grow old, we just change toys.
Love this thread! 37 here. Job, wife, 2 kids. Used to play MTG for 15+ years. It became to expensive for me and hard to get to events. Hearthstone is so much cheaper and accessible for me.
My interest in Hearthstone stemmed from my long desire to get into Magic ever since I worked at a Kay Bee toys when the game first came out. I got into it briefly but never had friends who were interested in it. This was way before FNM so I basically called it a day. Hearthstone scratches that itch for me.
I remember when pc gaming was making a line box by entering in codes. Boy that was fun....and so advance chit. Of course in the seventies all the powerful pcs were bigger than my car.
44 here, pretty much only play Hearthstone now. Was a big Heroes of Might and Magic fan for a while. First computer had 2 KB of RAM, no storage at all. Man, things have changed a lot since I was a kid!
I used to be an international bridge player, before I had to quit because of my (real) job. Went into HS looking for a game of skill similar to bridge, but HS has been huge disappointment till now. I still play nevertheless because it is a lot fun, without having to be competitive.
Just amazing, I'm 26 year old and I'm glad to know that we have this kind of public here at the community, with wife, job, kids and responsibilities. It's just an honor for to play with people like you sirs.
40 here. I quit WoW two years ago when my daughter was born (just not enough hours in the day), so the odd game of Hearthstone is all that's left to me.

Bad players whine.
Good players adapt.

Hi, 43 years old. I have three kids.
I used to be an international bridge player, before I had to quit because of my (real) job. Went into HS looking for a game of skill similar to bridge, but HS has been huge disappointment till now. I still play nevertheless because it is a lot fun, without having to be competitive.
You are not alone 44 here. Gamer for 35, and will be till death.
Just turned 43. Played games all my life and plan to keep doing that.
read somewhere that the average HS player age is fairly high. Presumably a lot of 40 something casual players who came from magic or other tcg's.
someone have a link on official stats on age distribution?

It's not whether you win or lose, it's whether I win.
37 and 3 kids, been playing since Colecovision!
"Everyone! Get in here!"
42 and two kids - watching hearthstone on twitch did make me feel like i was having a mid-life crisis
but i am a competitive gamer with little downtime and always mobile - so hearthstone fits.

My magic will tear you apart!
Glad you appreciate us (42 y/o player here). Those things are why most of us won't really ever compete with you, but we still have our fun.
I'm 37 and will probably still be playing HS when I hit 40. At least I hope so - I want this game around for a long time.
Anyway, I'm married, and work full time but no kids yet. Don't get to play as much as I'd like to but I enjoy it when I can.
Missing lethal since June 2015.
44. If anyone wants to add this "old man", feel free.
I play on NA. N0Sp00n#1422
