I made this thread just because I'm curious about the approx. percentage of long-time Blizzard fans that visit this forum and how many not. I'm a Blizzard fan since I was a teenager playing great games like Starcraft 1 and Diablo 2, although this doesn't mean I always agree with the decisions made by this company, and, lately, let just say I'm not very happy with some of them :P. But the question is... Are you a long time fan too? Since how long? or, for example, is Hearthstone the first Blizzard game you have ever played?
First Blizzard game I played was the original Warcraft, although I would say the first that I became a massively addicted fan of was Diablo 2.
Have spent an enormous amount of time playing Diablo 2, WoW, Diablo 3 and Hearthstone, lesser amounts on the Warcraft RTS games and Heroes of the Storm. Never got into Starcraft.
Started with Warcraft. Got addicted to Diablo (1&2). Played Starcraft. Still playing Blizzardware: WoW, Diablo 3, Hearthstone. Starcraft 2 to a lesser extent. Dabbled with Heroes o/t Storm beta, but that isn't my cup of tea. So, you might say I'm a sucker for Blizzard :)
I played Blizz Games since Warcraft 2 in the first wired LANs that were available in my fraternity. Have been an ardent player of Diablo 1 & 2 as well as Starcraft. Tried HotS but didn´t like it at all.
I stopped playing Blizz Games on PC when my (protected) Diablo 3 account was constantly (=daily) locked and reported as having been hacked (though that was probably just because I used different PCs to access it) and Blizzard failed to provide any help.
With the little time I have for gaming, I play Hearthstone (exclusively on iPad/iPhone) and occasionally return to Skyrim.

Battle doesn't need a purpose; the battle is its own purpose. You don't ask why a plague spreads or a field burns. Don't ask why I fight.
I've been following Blizzard since around the release of Warcraft: Orcs & Humans. Hell, I still remember when my dad bought it for me when I was a kid. I've been hooked ever since. I've played all of their games at some point. World of Warcraft will always be my favorite game, I enjoyed that game so much.
Nowadays I just play Hearthstone and a little bit of StarCraft (I mostly watch it because I'm super bad at it)
First game I played was Diablo I, I'm a huge fan of the Diablo series. The third game sucks though.
I moved to Wc3 and played DotA for a loooooooong time, exceptional game to play with friends. Too bad it's outdated and after DotA II I've lost interest in tower defense games.
Now, with all the work and studies I have to endure each day... I can only play HS and Diablo II casually. Diablo 2 /players 8 HC SP solo untwinked runs are very hard to do and deliver an outstanding experience.
Yup, I'm a fan of Blizzard, but old Blizz > Activision Blizz.
Thanks for the comments guys, but there is a trend here. Most of us, Blizzard long time fans, really enjoyed Diablo 2, and yeah, that was such a great game. It was so addictive, and I remember replaying it with all the characters many times, using a lot of different builds, till level 95 usually. My favourites characters where the Necromancer and Assassin, mostly because I love that anti-hero feeling while playing video games or watching movies :P, but in the end, I enjoyed every of them, from the Barbarian to the Sorceress, since each character was special. Playing with or against friends was also very cool, and having at least a Paladin on a big party was awesome, mostly because of auras, and the Hammerdin build. All the very different play styles the druid class had were very interesting (from a shapeshifter melee fighter, to a powerful mage), and playing with the Amazon using her ranged skills for killing hordes of enemies from afar like crazy was always a very fun thing.
For all those people who never enjoyed this game, and really like those with a dark atmosphere, I recommend to give it at least a try (even if it's a very old one). Such a classic... :)
I first got into Blizzard with Warcraft 2 on PC and Diablo 1 on PSX. I went on to play War3, Starcraft, Diablo 2 and 3, and Heroes of the Storm. Unfortunately the older I got (and the less time I devoted to RTS in general), the less fun Warcraft and Starcraft got, and I don't play them now. Same thing goes for HotS. I used to play a lot of LoL, so I went into it as soon as I could, but I don't enjoy playing highly competitive games when I'm too slow and don't have enough time to become highly competitive myself.
I also played WoW to cap (before any expansions came out), but didn't feel I was getting my monthly money's worth after that.
Now Hearthstone is all I play, but I love it more than almost any other game I'm currently playing (Ancient Domains of Mystery being the only one that calls me away).
So I guess I would say I'm a Blizzard fan overall, as they've provided countless hours of enjoyment for me. I just happen to be a Blizzard fan who only plays one game.

I'm not really a long-time fan but for around 1-2 years I'd say I've been playing Blizzard games like Diablo 3, Heroes of the Storm, Hearthstone (duh!), and World of Warcraft. I always was interested in WoW, just never played it until a few years ago. After I'd played WoW and Hearthstone and really enjoyed them, I decided to try other games by Blizzard like Diablo 3 and Heroes of the Storm, which I really enjoy. Although I'm not a long-term fan I still have a huge interest in the lore behind their games. I've never played the classic Blizz games (although I really want to) though. Would like to someday.
The first game I played that made me pay attention to Blizzard was Blackthorne. I'm curious if anyone else ever played this game? It was great! They don't make anything like it anymore, maybe they should...

Yeah, it was such a cool game, with orcs and everything, although Blizzard was a very young company at that time. Awesome stuff. I really miss the very dark atmosphere some of their old games used to have...
Also, another great game made by Blizzard (and Sunsoft) was The Death and Return of Superman, for SNES and Sega Genesis:
I prefered C&C over WC 2, but i really liked Diablo and i was a hugh Starcraft 1 fan. I always enjoyed playing Blizzard games, but lately Blizzard lost some credits for me. Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 were really good games, but not as good as the old ones. And i think they are abusing internet gaming addiction and related things to get money. Furthermore, they seem to be a little bit greedy even though they earn so much money. Some decisions on HS showed that. That it is basically f2p is not an argument in my opinion, it is just their bait. For me HS was definitely the last online game from Blizzard, if they don't change their policy.
Been playing Blizzard games for years. Warcraft 3, WoW, Diablo 2, Diablo 3, Heroes of the Storm and I've played Hearthstone nearly every day since Vanilla. I'm excited about Overwatch but I can't seem to get an invite to save my life even though I signed up on day 1 like a year ago...

Hearthstone is my first and only Blizzard game - I won't pay the monthly costs of WoW or their other games.

I give Blizzard a lot of shit for stuff they can do better, but yea I'm a long time fan : )

Here's a subforum at d2jsp.org where people play D2 in a unusual way:

Since 96! Warcraft 2 and Diablo were big parts of my formative years.

The first Blizzard game I played was Hearthstone, I played 3 Heroes of the Storm games, but that was it.
