I thought I would cruise through the lower ranks with aggro shaman this season, but it's not happening. Is that deck good? It feels so hit or miss. I don't get how ppl could get "80% winrate" with aggro shaman. Must be lucky? I think facehunter is better...
Yes, it's a good deck. Thanks to its burst potential, it can come back to win games that Face Hunter cannot. I'm now giving it my first serious try to start the season off with a fast deck, and I'm currently on Rank 7 EU with a 42-25 record with it (63% win rate). That is exactly 7 hours of playing by the way, games go by pretty fast with it.
It does not play like any other aggro deck though, what is your game plan with it? I try to go for minions in the mulligan, sometimes keep like a Lightning Bolt or something if I have a Tunnel Trogg to protect. Apply early pressure with minions and then topdeck the spells and weapons to finish the job.
I have never been able to sustain 80% win rates with any deck, and, actually, when looking at pro players, neither have any of them. Over 30-40 games, yes, sometimes, but not in the long run. I remember watching Jab once when he was on a great streak, went 31-5 (86% win rate) with midrange hunter in high legend in one evening. The next evening he played the same deck again, and had around 60% win rate - still doing OK, but not so amazingly.
My gameplan is to do about 15 dmg with minions early game then the rest with spells. But if you opponent has an answer to your early minions, or you don't draw them, you run out of steam. I do anyway. But i lose like 90% of games vs the mirror, so I think it's me. Maybe I should watch some vids... I didn't assume it would be a hard deck to play.
i just hit rank 5 with 2 stars from rank 9 with 3 stars in about 1 hour without single lose.... wow rank5 on 3rd day of season... personal record :) and alot time to hit legend for first time ^^
Now without being mad or salty, I seriously recommend Freeze Mage for anyone pissed off with Paladins. Currently playing 4th Paladin game of the day, looking like a 4-0. It's not an auto-win, but if you have the slightest idea of what you're doing, it's basically impossible to lose.
Literally the stock list, I don't think there's much out of ordinary.
its gonna cost me 4k dust :( ill stick to the decks I have then... always wanted to play freeze mage, but i miss so many cards for this :(
Rogue's pretty good vs Paladins too, that should be way cheaper.
Rogue is very good vs mid paladin but have only 45% winrate against secret paladin -> tempostorm. My winrate is about 40% so i guess it's true ! What is good about rogue in this meta is zoo and patron mu but u lose hard to reno, freeze and aggro shaman.
Hybrid Hunter does well against most AGGRO decks, as it usually can outrace them and force them to trade, which against Secret paladin is useful as hell. Doesn't do well against locks but thats cause zoo is control. Gets stomped by fatigue warriors and grinder mages though
I play Hybrid Hunter and, IMO, it's bad against practically all aggro decks. Hybrid Hunter is best against midrange (and sometimes control) dependent on lifegain to save themselves from aggro. Of course, we could be using different decklists.
Only aggro I lose to is Shaman, but I get owned by Midrange paladin, combo druid, and zoolock (sometimes). Seems to be a good deck this season so far though
So far its going bad. Rank 12 ATM, and whenever I play Warrior, I never run into the autowins, and even if I do they draw perfectly and I draw terrible

Stuck at rank 15 with Aggro Freeze Mage. Going to stick with it because while my winrate isn't great the difference is from facing a lot of Warriors (0-9), Reno Decks, and low rank shenanigans. Tournament Medics? Yep. Twice.
If the meta goes even deep into Reno based decks, I'll probably have to switch it up.

You two ought to get a room..... Shut ins need love as well.
Oh no, I'm sorry I'm helping a fellow player out. I forgot being salty as fuck without reason is the only thing allowed in a "Headed to Legend" thread :D
Allow me for being salty with a reason... and that reason is that I dont have 4k spare dust... and about the room... sounds interesting :D

To live is to suffer, to survive is to find meaning in the suffer!
With rogue my only bad matchups are mech/tempo mage, control warrior and face hunter. Secret pallies, shamans, freeze mage and reno warlock are not so bad. Vs Pallies you can clear the early board and often only have a lone challenger to deal with. Shamans, clear the earlyminions and you win. Freeze save loatheb for the right minute. Warlock you can burst from a high health, just focus on board control. Easier than handlock because not 4 giants to deal with.
I'll be trying to get to rank 5 with Oil Raptor - got lucky on a pack and got Thalnos and just the other day I finally crafted the two Preparations. I'm ready for this :D
Really going to try to grind for legend this season I think. I've consistently hit rank 4-5 the past few seasons so I think I can do it if I give myself enough time to play. Not quite sure what deck to use though. Used Mid Pally last season, kind of sick of using it though to be honest. Having fun with Priest but I just feel like the games go so long it isn't really worth it when I can have the same winrate + more games in the same amount of time with other decks.
I was trying not to play Secret Paladin but after I faced a ridiculous amount of them on ladder and kept losing at rank 9 I decided to join the dark side. Doing very well at the moment, climbed from rank 9 to almost 4 very quickly.
Rank 4 on day 4 seems really good. I just hit 10 with RenoLock and I thought I was going at a good pace.
Win streaked from 17 down to 11 in a few hours.
I only have about 90 min a day for ranked, so hoping to move up one rank a day at least until 5 and then push for Legend. I never broke rank 4, never tried to hard. I've always been happy just getting the epic/500ish dust.

The Aggro Shaman mirror is a bit of a special case: it is much more about board control than other matchups. Both decks run fairly few minions, so getting more value out of yours is the key.

Going to try out the new dragon hunter looks like a lot of fun. After that I'm going full legend this season, been too long since I got it a couple months back but I'm ready for the grind again.
Been playing a lot with it, really fun :) But I don't think its stable enough.. Can't get below 15 with it.. A shame really!

I'm at Rank 8. It's amazing because last season I couldn't get past Rank 7. Mostly because I'm a newer player with only a selection of mostly outdated/quirky/unpopular Aggro decks and people always told me to rank up later in the season. I don't have much room to adjust to an unfavorable meta.
I think laddering with the first wave Legend players was the right strategy. The meta at lower ranks during midseason is completely toxic for Aggro and none of my decks fared well against the newly popular Aggro decks like Egg/Aggro Druid. Maybe I'll have a chance at Legend this season; but, I make a lot of basic mistakes like forgetting to tap before playing.
Made it to legend on the last day of the season. Played secret pala from rank 7 to legend, so I need a couple of days with dragon warrior to recharge my paladin batteries. Currently in rank 12, but want to reach legend faster this season than last.

You play with PowerShot?
Anyone who makes legend with secret pally, considers themselves a legit legend. LOL.
