The post had some decent points put down as text in a decent fashion, but even if the RNG element is tuned down people will still blame bad draws for all their losses. The skill of Hearthstone is being able to do the best you can with what you have, but I understand that sometimes, there is simply nothing you can do. That's why I think Hearthstone RNG is excessive, but not as much as people say- do you people want to be able to draw any card you want, for god's sake?
Sounds to me like the dude just doesn't like card games. "Only the top 10% of cards are used" is true of any game in which you can choose what pieces to use. The community itself is a non-issue because there's no chat.
How can he say Blizz doesn't interact with the community? We get like biweekly vlogs from the lead developer.
Its fine to not like the game but you don't have to be sanctimonious and act like there is something fundamentally wrong with the game just because you don't like it because there are lots of us who enjoy it the way it is.
I think Hearthstone has a great community, but maybe I am not as hardcore into it as others. I think there are some great streamers and podcasts that people are supporting. The developers visit podcasts, streamers, and post updates to community sites and twitter.
There is definitely RNG, but I think it is fun for such a fun game! It hurts, but helps as well. For playing on the ladder it is fine, but I typically only get to rank 5 and I imagine the legend grind could be frustrating when RNG screws you over.
For a game that people play on their phones during lunch with random tavern brawls, but is still competitive enough for engaging tournaments and a pro scene it seems to be a great game.
I don't agree with what the guy wrote but what's even more ridiculous is the view of some like yourself that can't be bothered to read a few paragraphs.

This post perfectly describes how I feel.
Also the part about only 10% of cards being used? Look up Sturgeon's Law.

Every game is annoying at times, repetitive at times, but thankfully, no one is required to play it, at any time. Does the OP hope to inspire some grand revolution, hundreds of Hearthstone players raising their torches and marching on Blizzard until our demands are met?
"No more Unstable Portal Legendaries!! Down with MC!! Give me deck slots or I Choose Death!"
There's a whole world of Candy Crush and Mario Kart out there. Play what you like.
I really like how the post did not discuss any of the real problems of HS such as balance issues (shaman, hunter, Dr. 6, etc.) and the stupidity of their nerf decisions (warsong commander, gagetzan auctioneer, buzzard). Anyone who plays this game and actually enjoys it obviously does not give one shit about the RNG. The post also did not mention the failure of the last expansion and the joust mechanic. Honestly, if you’re going to complain about a game, make sure you complain about the right stuff.

You make some very good points, unfortunately since I'm not reading that post I don't know what those good points are.
