The current miracle rogue is a straight up gimmick! Though, I do enjoy free wins :)
I can't say its exactly gimmicky since Tempostorm rated it as a tier 3 deck and a lot of pro and not-so-pro players enjoy the deck, but its definitly not as good as other options.
Cards are nerfed because they are too good/powerful or because they are a part of a deck that is too powerful/annoying to play against. Tomb Pillager isn't very good card and Miracle Roque isn't too good deck
It is not a very powerfull deck now, and let me remind you that people said the same thing about Mysterious Challenger, Dr. Boom and Grim Patron, and where are we now? Divided into "let's nerf Dr. Boom already!" and "let's nerf Mysterious Challenger already!" camps. Well, that is a bit of exaggeration really, but nonetheless.
Just because some players want certain cards nerfed, that doesn't mean it's going to happen.
Grim Patron wasn't nerfed. Warsong Commander was, (~6 months after BRM), because it allowed OTKs from well above 30 effective HP.
There's no card in LoE that is crazy powerful, or that allows anywhere near OTK potential. I don't expect that any of them will be changed.
However, most LoE cards are very good, and the Adventure is definitely worth getting.

I agree with your recommendation (getting LOE is a safe bet anyways), but you're missing the point when you say that no card in LOE allows the kind of OTK deck that Blizz has said it will get nerfed when it comes.
Maybe you're right and no card from LOE gets ever banned for this, but you know... it is the future and we don't know it: Anyfin Can Happen ;)
You're seriously worried about a nerf to miracle rogue? It would take 6 months of a broken deck for them to even consider a nerf, so even if the next set catapults miracle rogue to broken status you still have over half a year before you even half to worry about it. Not buying a set because 9 months from now there is a 0.01% chance of a nerf seems pretty crazy to me.

Buying expansions for gold is the most safe move.
English is not my native language, so, with a high probability, mistakes were made.
Greatness, at any cost.

Compared to all of the other expansions, there isn't a single bad, legendary in the set so it's pretty much worth your investment right there.
