So I know in some other games there is an option to purchase something for someone else. My girlfriend recently started playing and has a relatively small collection. I was thinking it would be really handy to have a gift option in hearthstone where you can purchase items for those on your friends list.
I apologize if I am somehow overlooking an option to do this but I thought it would be nice functionality to have. With this game there is always the argument that a new account could just buy items so buying with gold / money from another account seems like it wouldn't really hurt would it? Thoughts?
He is not asking to transfer his stuff to her account, if I understand him correctly, he is looking for a gift store option where he can spend his dollars to buy packs or adventures, that are credited to someone else's account. You know, the type of gift store that is available in just about every other pay to win game on the market. It's a great idea. There is no downside to blizz, they get the opportunity to increase their sales as established hearthstone players bring their friends in. Plugging your credit card into someone else's battle.net account is simply not a good way to help give your newbie friends a kick start as it opens both yourself and blizzard up to potential credit card frsud/abuse. Hence why most games have a gift shop.

^ this exactly. My hearthstone account keeps track of my credit card and I would prefer to be able to send it form my own account for security purposes. Its also a lot more fun to open hearthstone and see someone gifted you something than it is to have someone ask to be able to hijack your computer / account for a sec.
As a bare minimum I see no downside to allowing real money purchases for friends. They gold purchase for a friend might be questionable but I dont really know if thats an issue.
hrm... are we also able to "gift" subscriptions to friends? I hate the premise of tinkering around in someone elses account, even if it is to help them out. It's never a good look, and even talking about it like this is "risky".

It would absolutely hurt the game. What would stop me from created 100's of accounts and funneling it?

Always wished I could gift packs to friends to get started or for holidays. What's better than opening 50 presents?!
I think the opener has a great idea! As long as it stays with real $ to prevent absue.
