To me Elise isn't needed in Dragon personally because you aren't trying to last till fatigue. Heck inner fire combo could work better with one or two cards with a 24 ysera etc
I just reached rank 5 eu. And now I see that I really have to play tons and tons of games to reach legend, because I sometimes do little mistakes, so my winrate is not the best. But I hope my abilities are good enough to get better and reach it this season.
Great job in reaching Rank 5. If this is your first time hitting rank 5, it will usually take more practice and another couple of seasons perfecting your current deck to reach Legend.
Playing my priest this season for the golden hero. Struggling at rank 4 and I don't know if I am going to make it as I am still learning the class, but the new cards certainly make it more fun. I am playing a dragon priest, but with 2x Entomb instead of Shadow Word: Death en 2x Museum Curator + Brann Bronzebeard. I played 1 x blackwing technician and replaced it with Brann. I have 12 battlecry cards to combo Brann with. I even had a game with 3x Chillmaw from curator
I am still hesitating to put in Elise Starseeker, maybe that will put it over the top and make the deck to inconsistent.
Even if I don't make it, I found a fun deck to play again in this meta.
I had been climbing this season with a dragon priest as well (currently at rank 3). Elise is not viable IMO. Using Brann from LOE.
As someone else probably already said,I suggest you guys to stick with one deck or class for climbing above rank 10
This is just my personal experience, but every time I fell into a loosing streak I started questioning my deck and that slowed me down a lot.
Stick with your deck and keep using the one which you are most confident with . I know how it feels when you keep losing and you end up searching for different decks here on heartpwn, well that turned out to made me lose more time and not learning the meta.
I'm now using my own version of a deck similar to the Reno lock, but with The golden monkey and the curse of rafaam.rank 6 and 3 stars atm.
good luck everyone
I've just been on the most hideous losing streak. I was on a win streak from 12 to 6, and now it's completely reversed and I'm back down to 11 (nearly 12). I'm confident my deck is capable, but it seems like I just keep losing all my matches, even those that I considered favored while initially climbing.
i'm like 1300 something right now. A lot of good advice from this thread helps, like stick to one deck, or two decks. I used demon zoo and secret pally with equality. played just the pally from 4 on.
I've been rank 5 at least since February, and had two seasons rank 2 finish, and now this.
I started making sure I thought about every possible play, EACH turn. Made games go slower, but I caught myself seeing plays after looking for twenty seconds AFTER I had decided what to do, that were better than what I did.
Good luck everyone. I'm going to keep playing maly handlock and get raped by auctioneer rogue which is all over the legend games I've seen.
As a brief run-down of my experience with it thus far (I don't have a statistics tracker or anything, but I'm looking into getting one):
Shaman: Favorable (particularly Aggro)
Hunter: Even (Face Hunter is favorable, Midrange is even)
Priest: Even
Mage: Mixed (Mech is favorable, Tempo Mage is even, Freeze Mage is unfavorable)
Warlock: Mixed (Zoo is favorable, Handlock/Renolock is a bit unfavored but winnable)
Druid: Mixed (Aggro is favorable, Ramp is even, Combo is unfavorable)
Rogue: Mixed (Deathrattle is even, Oil is even, Miracle is unfavorable)
Paladin: Mixed (Secret is even, Midrange is even, Murloc is unfavorable)
Warrior: Unfavorable (You don't have the tools to clear Patrons or burn through the armor of Control)
So really in summary: it does well against aggressive decks, has a slight edge/is equal to other midrange and tempo decks, can give control a run for its money, and is decimated by combo decks. I recovered back to 10 last night, and hoping to get some steam back. I'm mostly having to psychologically fortify myself, because the losing streak was a big blow to my confidence in my own deck.
Exactly. There are times when you mulligan into a hand full of 5-7 drops and get crushed by facehunter or secret paladin on turn 5, but those are only few games out of hundreds. Stay strong and keep going.

Thanks. It's not my first time hitting rank 5, I reached rank 3 once. But I never played a lot rank 5+, because I was getting very frustated. This time I'm trying to change my mindset and get myself into playing more. Nevertheless it's pretty hard because everyone is bm'ing. I try to only use 'Well played' when I'm losing as some kind of training, but its hard :P
Squelch your opponent as soon as the match begins. it's a good technique so you won't get tilted by BMs.

I'm stuck between 7 to 11 for the last week. I was rocking pretty good with Tempo Mage then Aggro Shaman and suddenly it seemed like every game I played teched against that deck, and my winrate suffered. So I've been trying all kinds of different decks, and none are really working. Actually I am 3-0 right now with Oil, but even though its my favorite deck, I just don't think I can pilot it to legend. I think decks like that you have to spend about 200 games just to figure out to play it right.
The big lesson out of this is to commit to a deck.
Same. Stuck in Rank 5 for 2 days now. I don't know how to overcome the Secretpaladin retards without winningstreak bonuses...the deck is just too OP and easy.
I'm not one to call for a nerf or say a deck is OP... but I just played secret pally for the first time. I got to rank 5 real fast this season and then bounced between 2-4 all month trying random decks like maly or token druid (plus casual/arena more than usual).
So I created a secret pally deck off the top of my head, won 4 in a row. Then I decided to make a Reno secret pally deck for the hell of it and won 5 more in a row (only played Reno once as a tempo play and he didn't trigger). I actually have gone 16-2 so far from rank 4 to 1 playing secret pally for the first time, without looking up any net decks, just threw the obvious stuff in.
It may be a bit OP. Or maybe even more so now since there are so few freeze mages this season compared to last.

Reno secret Paladin? u wot m8?
Did you seriously go 16-2 with a Reno secret Paladin? You might have been very lucky too :D
I'm busting my ass with a tempo mage right now, got rank 3 today but I feel like I need to make changes like cutting unstable portals. Also I don't know how to win against Renolocks huuuh...
Only those 5 games were with Reno, I switched to a more normal midrange secret deck after that because I realized reno wasn't helping (even though I didn't lose with him). The Reno deck still has 2 MC, 2 avenge, and 2 noble sacrifice. So I would be able to play Reno after MC. But if I curve into MC there's very little chance I would need Reno.
Just shows how good paladin cards are in general I think. Same reason they can play a OTK murloc deck and still win some games without ever playing Anyfin.
Annnnnd legend. Half a day playing secret pally from rank 4. Sorry everyone, I'll put down the truesilver and play some other classes now.
Holy fuck well done, if tempo mage doesn't work out I'll give secret paly a shot then. What server are you playing on btw? And what decklist did you use?
Played on NA. I ended with the list below. I changed it a few times... started with 1 chow and 2 redemption, 2 belchers instead of loatheb for a while, and I had one Truesilver for something else for a bit. Still not sure what's optimal, it depends on what you're facing the most. Never even tried secret keepers to be honest, but the chow(s) were huge in getting the board early.

I had over 500 wins in ranked with oil rogue b4 I ever made legend with it. And that's just wins. Probablyover 1000 games including losses.
Well according to my decktracker "meta" rank 10-5 is sadly very diversed i have faced all classes over 143 games: Paladin 27 Mage 24 Warlock 23 Druid 19 Priest 13 Hunter 12 Rogue 9 Shaman 9 Warrior 7.
So if you can find a deck that is favoured in the matchup vs Paladin / Mage / Warlock and Druid...be sure to drop me a note ;)
What is even more sad is that among those classes theres a number of different decks being played...
Paladin has aggro, secret, midrange and murloc.
Mage has mostly flamewaker tempo and mech (with oe or two freezemage popping in).
Warlock has Zoo, renohandlock, handlock and demonhandlock with zoo and renolock being mostly seen.

What should i use to hit rank5? Dont have secret palladin and seems combo druid isnt good from rank 9 where im stuck.
Dragon priest? any type of Warlock? midrange/face hunter? unfinished aggro shaman?
