Grammar is the difference between knowing your crap, and knowing you’re crap.
Sometimes RNG creates funny/awkard situations. My opponent (Rogue) plays a Faceless Lackey which generated Lorewalker Cho. I was playing Spell Druid which made it even more awkward as I was able to mill him quite a bit. He ended up Backstabbing his own minion twice ;)
I haven't played too much Battlegrounds recently - it can be fun, but I find the very random nature of it all very frustrating (skill is involved, to an extent, but it's undeniable that sometimes you just get offered great stuff, and sometimes you get offered nothing). Anyway, didn't have much to do this afternoon for about 80 minutes, so decided to try and get a trio of wins in (I'm a bit OCD, so I like to have 0/3 progress towards the next 10g before I stop playing, so I always know where I'm at).
80 minutes was potentially pushing it given that a game can go for up to 20 minutes, and you can still lose and have to start all over again.
Fortunately, I went 2nd, 2nd, 1st in those 3 games. Not only that, but I got to play 3 different builds (protect the Cobalt mech, golden Hogger pirate and Brann murloc). I should note that golden Hogger pirate (the build where you get 3+ hoggers and buy pretty much every pirate you see, losing you very little gold and in some cases generating gold) is super APM heavy compared to other builds - I feel like with some more practice and experience I could've won that (lost to divine shield/poisonous murloc, and I was so focused on trying to spin the tavern as much as possible I didn't even register if any Ghouls came up).
I am pleased with myself in the murloc run though - I was a bit of a menagerie build at the start of tavern 5 (had gotten offered a Lightfang as a t4 golden earlier), but wasn't really strong - middle of the pack - when I was offered Brann and Bagurgle. At that point I don't believe I had any other murlocs in play, but had around 25 health and did a quick scan, seeing that no-one else was murlocs, and decided to make the switch (which included getting Brann-induced goldens off of Alleycat and Tidecaller tokens, leading to my first Megasaur - admittedly giving Divine Shield to a bunch of trashy murlocs as well as +1/+1, but it did help me minimise the damage that round before really starting to ramp the turn after). The switch definitely could've backfired if I didn't get offered enough, but even ignoring the result I feel like it was a good call given that murlocs were open and I was starting with Bagurgle + Brann.
I also made what seemed to be a smart play, in that in the penultimate round my opponent had a Ghoul - but positioned it far right, and fortunately he attacked first, faceplanting a pirate into a divine shield, before I attacked the Ghoul. I opted to go in with 6 minions the next round in order to guarantee my opponent would attack first - while they could have moved the Ghoul, they didn't, so that lead to the final victory.
I ended up coming first with only Goldgrubbers (basically.) My comp until the final couple rounds was: Goldgrubber (2x), Golden Alleycat, Golden Scavenging Hyena, Golden Righteous Protecter, and Golden Defender of Argus. And I wasn't even close to losing. Goldgrubber is a good card, pick it!
Something hilarious happened in Tavern Brawl today. Opponent's special bonus was playing 2 Deck of Wonder spells at the beginning of the match. I slowly chipped down his health but lost the board. Opponent, feeling smug, emoted me as he summoned another copy of his 12/12 putting him 1 turn away from lethal (with my lethal via hero power needing an extra turn). After he finished emoting, his turn started, his scroll of wonder played Twisting Nether. I won the game while he kept emoting "how is this even possible?", I felt like a troll winning that.
I posted some salt about BGs recently... only appropriate I post the pepper too!
This whole game was mostly blessed. Eudora as champ, easy pick. Tidehunter for turn 1 - almost surely the best turn 1 for Eudora, as it's a 2/1 + start digging a turn early. I even tied the round! XD
Continue to turn 4 (getting some token minions on the way), and my golden is... Rabid Saurolisk. Holy wow, that's a really good golden tier 2 minion - and if that wasn't good enough, there were 2 Harvest Golems as offerings (picked one + a Warleader to buff my two Tidecallers, and frozen for the other golem on the next turn - though in retrospect I should've taken both Golems, and possibly not even frozen). Best triple treat offering is Zerus - so I take it, and hope for the best.
The rest of the run is a bit of a blur, so I'll just mention some noteworthy stuff:
* Got golden Hogger *early*. Not from Eudora, but between the window and triple treats, nabbed him. That steered me even more towards pirates, especially when he gave me Dread Admiral as his reward. * Ended up getting a fourth Hogger not too long after (so pirates actually generate gold at that point), and ended the game with double golden Hogger. * Unfortunately didn't get any of the "whenever you play a pirate. give this +1+1" until very late - only ended with 1 - but I won, so can't really complain. * Also golden Brann. Turns out when you have infinite gold tripling stuff like that is really easy, and he loves the "+1/+1 for every pirate you've bought this turn" buff. My Dread Admiral was actually 111/92 by the end of the game. * Final board: 5 goldens (Goldgrubber, double Hogger, Brann, Dread Admiral), one of the "pirates grow this" pirates, and a rotating minion (in this round it was a Dreadship) * I don't nearly have good enough APM for this - but then, with what was essentially infinite gold can anyone really have adequate APM? That said, I might look at the disconnect/reconnect method to get some more tavern time if I find myself in a similar position. * Thank goodness my final opponent was mechs. Poisonous murlocs would've gotten me, there were no dragons so need to worry about Kalec scaling + divine shield, and the Baron/parrot beast build can be pretty scary.
Got to love it when some dh player (with the amani list, too) decides that if it carries him in standard, surely it will in wild too. Didn't even draw raza, anduin, duskbreaker or reno and it was still game over by turn 9. Extremely satisfying.
Perhaps against my better judgment, I've been playing some Battlegrounds recently, and actually enjoying myself - and doing relatively well. Only have a set of games (until 3 top 4s) every other day, but for the past week or two I've had a very positive winrate.
I still get frustrated at certain times, but overall right now it's good. It's luck that it's good I guess, but I'll enjoy it while it lasts!
Incidentally, I had a crazy run where I ended second. Was Finley (Hooktusk) going murlocs, against another murloc player. Thanks to facing off against them and having a Murozond in hand from the previous tavern section (knew I was coming up against them so I held it), I was able to Murozond, get another Murozond, then tripled Murozond. Ended up with a bunch of golden buffing murlocs, as well as a golden Brann, and a Megasaur. I definitely had the stronger board after that in almost all respects - but I lost because I never got a token option from Megasaur, whereas my opponent did, and the tokens proved the difference (even if I had, at that point it'd come down to some RNG as to who would have tokens pop the shields of their opponent). Can't really begrudge the victory; DS poisonous murlocs vs DS poisonous murlocs. XD
10 Pogo Hoppers in Battlegrounds, I even amazed myself. Too bad opponent won with divine shield-poison, I was trying to set up some divine shield defense myself but it was already too late..
I don't even know if this is a good vibe, I just won a game against a quest mage who managed, somefuckinghow, to create THREE ice blocks in addition to the one that he ran in the deck...it was infuriating, to put it mildly.
Got to love having the god hand against mill rogue. Biology project into overgrowth into psychmelon into Aviana and Maly for 1 into goodbye rogue, you couldn't even play your cute coldlight oracle because your hand was far heavier than mine at all times. Lovely.

Playing since 2014. Today I got my 1st golden legendary – Kargath Bladefist. I don't play warrior, but now I must, I guess.
Just played a game of Battlegrounds as Millhouse.

Zerus transforms into... Goldgrubber. As freaking Eudora. Turn 5 Goldgrubber. o.O

Was fun getting two legendary cards and an Epic in my June rewards today.

Got legend with my own version of Quest Mage.
Cannot edit - it was Standard.
sign at the physics lab at university really made me giggle, it read:
"please don't look into the laser with your remaining eye, thank you so much."
