Diamond: Galakrond Priest (me) vs Resurrect Priest (Them)
I understand why people don't like facing Resurrect Priest but I find the match-up to be quite comical and no more of a time investment than a Control vs Control match-up. My latest match-up against the Archetype saw a whole lot of 'Khartut Defender' and of 'Bad Luck Albatross' hit the board through-out the 40 minute game.
No matter the Resurrect shenanigans, I was able to control the flow of the entire game with an on-curve Galakrond and some solid resource management.
I believe the exact moment I "won the game" was when my opponent was down to 12 cards in their deck and they were in a 'top-decking' mode while I had 8 cards in hand and my deck was over 30 cards (there were a lot of Albatross in this game). I made it through pretty much every "phase" of this match-up in a winning position yet they never conceded despite having no hand, no board, were top decking and I had 30 health still.
I eventually was able to swing for lethal when they were down to 4 cards in deck.
Got to legend for the first time last weekend. Had some extra time to grind this month. Really nice grind and had lots of fun. Made a nice video, check it out:
Just made legend. Started today at D1 with 2 stars. Went 5-5 thought I’d quit. Played one later and had a perfect game against mirror. Was about to quit for the day to save the boss fight but my friend wanted to spectate me. Had another nearly perfect game against mirror. Got gruul. But feels good.
Happiness is being knocked down to 4 life by a demon Hunter, but top decking zeph into bloodlust to deal 19 damage out of nowhere because he ignored my board
not enough time to play a lot of HS, havent didnt hit legend in months because of that - still i get x10 bonus stars with a dia10 finish. feels fucking nice to know i'm still rated legend MMR, even though work 's been keeping me busy the last few months
So I have been playing a little less frequently recently, and logged in today to complete a couple quests. Missed some, but with these new duplicate protections, who cares - I already have 1000 gold saved up, whereas for the last couple of years I've started saving a couple weeks before expansions.
One thing you need to know, I'm a Casual player. By which I mean I play Casual mode. I'm a bad loser, I commonly quit for the day after a single loss, but somewhat paradoxically I also don't have any sort of competitive mindset, I don't gain any enjoyment out of climbing, or making myself believe I'm a good player. Yet, I have played this game since Naxx and do have enough of a collection to play some expensive meme decks.
One of my current favourite decks for the past year or two is Control Healadin, and ever since DQ Alexstrasza and Zephrys (and opening golden Finley), the highlander variant. The amount of heals is absurdly high so aggro is a piece of cake, and most control decks fall behind value after N'Zoth, Brann, Zola, and Sathrovarr. I have a daily quest for Paladin, so I decide to play this for a game or two. Suddendly I realize I'm still Bronze 10, so because the rewards are somewhat motivating, I go for the ladder.
Big mistake. Queue into rogue (I hate most rogue decks with a burning passion), turn 1 Kingsbane + Coin + Deadly Poison. I don't even lose a rank so I just straight up concede. I queue again and... another Rogue. Goddamnit. Plays the newer quest, alright, not a fun matchup but tolerable.
I pass turn 1, hero power turn 2, Call to Adventure turn 3, while the opponent makes something of a board with Underbelly Fences and Blink Foxes, completing the quest quite fast. CtA draws Finley, and I take the Paladin hero power to keep up with the board. I try to keep up with Thekal into Reno into Belcher, using the hero power frequently, but at some point she gets a Grimestreet Outfitter, already having a decently sized hand, so I start falling behind in tempo. My 60 health quickly turns into 30-ish, and I waste a lot of heal value, playing Kangor, Libram of Hope and Amber Watcher to keep up with the board.
Then I draw N'Zoth. Is this the time to play Sylvanas? It might low roll, but it also sets up a good N'Zoth turn - I go for it. My opponent, a rogue, plays Devolve - I consider uninstalling. Alright, alright, I get some decently statted minions, the situation is manageable. Zilliax clears some threat, Spikeridged Steed makes some value trades, opponent misplays - I have the initiative. Hell yes. Except the opponent had Hanar up at some point. It was a long game, don't judge me. I get a Tirion and Ysera from Brann into Zephrys, play Tirion and hero power, manage to get N'Zoth on an empty board. Now I just need any one of my aforementioned copy effects and this game is won.
Tess Greymane. Remember that Devolve? Happens again. No Brann, no N'Zoth to bounce. Also a sizable board to answer to. Good news is, I have a Marsh Hydra that gets an attack in before dying the next turn, resulting in a Splintergraft in my hand. Nice. We have finally reached the stage of late game value fight that I actually enjoy. Tess board goes into a devolved N'Zoth board, and for the rest of the game, neither player manages to gain a huge board.
I, however, underestimate the value of Ancient Blades. I play Ysera and get a Dream, play Alex, Dream it, get Waxadred, Sathrovarr it, Zola the Sathrovarr. So this is where I take the screenshot, the Ysera got Vanished at some point iirc. The opponent has some more removal, makes a board of their own, plays some leftover secrets, goes to fatigue - suddenly I notice my health. No time to play the value game anymore, I start going face where possible. Simultaneously I try to make a comeback on the board, Waxadreds keep coming back. 14 health left, do I have any heals? Wickerflame Burnbristle, the last card in my deck. Dies without healing. 7 health.
I take my first point of fatigue damage. Shit, I'm probably dead. Damn that devolve. Out of habit, I still throw my minions at face. 3 health. Wait, what was the fatigue counter? I end my turn... and the opponent dies to fatigue.
The ending's anticlimatic, but I really did enjoy seeing just how much value I can get out of this deck without relying on ~6 N'Zoths. Had the game lasted a while longer, I could've thrown Splintergraft on Sathrovarr on Alex, and then Sathrovarr on Ysera, but that just goes to show that no matter how good a game is, they never go perfectly.
Playing in Wild against an Odd Demon Hunter who already has the 1,000 win portrait. I top deck Plot Twist which draws all of my remaining duplicates and now-active Reno Jackson while at 3 health. They conceded immediately.
Getting up to D1 3* and getting punched back down due to facing an onslaught of DH I gave up... Another day back to 3* and face yet another DH as final boss and beat him. Feelsgoodman
Playing Enrage Warrior against a Gala Priest, normally an unwinnable matchup. He clears the board that I managed to establish in the mid-game, heals himself fully back to 30 from 17 thanks to a Wild Pyromancer + Apotheosis combo, I'm thinking of conceding, but I am still hoping I might get another shot and indeed a few turns later he arrogantly ingores my 2/1 on the board and instead attacks face with a random minion that he got off an invoke and which he has buffed to 10/11 with some randomly generated spells. This 2/1 was all I needed. Grommash Hellscream + Inner Rage + Inner Rage + Coin + Bloodsworn Mercenary for an OTK and a very unlikely victory:)
Ok so the screenshot is from Kobolds and Catacombs meta, but since i decided to create an hearthpwn account not so long ago here goes...I think i exhausted all my life's luck with this one.

I'd say you exausted your luck if The Darkness and Woecleaver saw any serious play. Don't worry, you still have some.

Just had some chap, playing a standard warlock maly quest in wild, play dragon queen into temporus. As I play combo maly druid, that was a lot of fun.
Happiness is being knocked down to 4 life by a demon Hunter, but top decking zeph into bloodlust to deal 19 damage out of nowhere because he ignored my board
When you end the game as Maly-lock by playing King Krush.
The dude that added me after losing. I like my victories like my food, salty and on point.

I know sex is great and all, but have you had a Rez priest adding you after a win and complains about bad RNG?
