I have been avoiding waggtoggle because I thought she was no good. But this run I've been using her hero power extremely effectively, resulting in my first true menagerie win since lightfang got nerfed.
You can't really see it, but the golden demon was 22/221 with taunt, the murloc was taunt + poisonois + divine shield + windfury, and the mech had divine shield and taunt. Had a bran for the last bit of the run but replaced it with second battlemaster in the end. (Had a spare lightfang to be able to do this and double the health)
Finally got my first opp wanna be friends just so he curse the living hell out of me and he *poof*'ed out of existence. Yeah, I did get lucky... on a brawl... really, what did he expect, a 4-piece combo? I was laughing so hard.
P.S. no offense to the ladies for calling the player 'he', but that player was a dick.
May not look like much but took down some very, very big dragons. Not only was it one of if not the most powerfull build I ever had, but also the most tier 6 minions in a comp.
Because I leveled so fast, I had to keep my murozond in play for a long time.
And then it happened... I faced off against another dragon player. And then picked up TWO more murozond in the recruitment round after, resulting in the following:
First murozond had me tripple the whelp. First golden card.
Second murozond made a golden murozond. Second golden card.
I played the murozond and it gave me a GOLDEN cobalt scalebane. Third golden card.
All my competition was still at rank 3 or 4. None at 5 and I had been there for a couple of turns already.
After that it was TOTAL CARNAGE. Did 20+ damage to everyone. Knocked out the player in first at 27 health. It was the most overwhelming victory I ever had. I got this build together so early on, nobody was ready for it. Everyone I faced after that was just gone. No survivors.
EDIT: Just realised my last three posts in this topic had the words "I powerleveled" in it. Yeah that's my favourite way to play battlegrounds XD.
I really enjoy Reno in Battlegrounds. He's very much a "roll high or roll low" hero, but my god is he fun when he rolls high (and fortunately, the 2 times I've played him I've rolled quite high). Got this final board today:
The story: as with Reno, typically you want one of those juicy tier 5 minions to golden (Brann, Baron or Lightfang). I was on tier 3, and on my last refresh I hit a card that'd give me a triple. So next turn, level up, triple. My options... didn't contain those 3. But it did contain Razorgore. I believe at that point I had zero dragons, but I was like "well, if he's golden it'll be +2/+2 a turn, so that's a nice grow effect" - but I definitely wasn't sold on it.
Shortly thereafter - another Razorgore. Hot damn. It was on. Buy the new Razorgore, golden it, and I believe I bought a third dragon to fill things out.
As part of my transition into dragons, I bought a Murzond - and actually kept it on the board to give my two Razorgores more buffing. That turn, I played one of the two other people in the lobby who went dragons. As luck would have it, I got *two* Murozonds on the next turn. So very economy efficient, netting me a swath of cards - and that's how I got the golden DS/reborn dragon, as well as discovering Kalecgos. Oh hell it was super-on then. As many battlecries as I could to buff my dragon hoard.
So that's all well and good (picking up another Razorgore not too long after), but why did I play two of the divine shield-giving non-dragons? Well, that's how you beat the other two top 3 players - one with poisonous murlocs, and one with dragons and a single divine shield giver. :-P I should note that my reborn dragon and Kalec both had taunt, hence the positioning (my hope being that enemy would attack first into my divine shield to get max value).
Won a 30 turn match as Galakrond Warlock against Ress Priest, finishing him with his own albatross token, no less.
He shuffled 8 of those into my deck, I shuffled back 4. Most people would have conceded or just tempoed Zeph or Dragonqueen thinking they would never be able to play them, but Odd Pally hero power + tokens for near infinite refill made Zeph the win con, and that's what happened.
It always feel so satisfying to go through their asshole deck after a 30-45 min match and they are the ones that end up losing a star.
Also had an insane highroll game against Warrior yesterday.
I managed to actually play Dragonqueen as early as turn 10 and it gives me Ysera and Nozari... I was at 30 HP and opponent at 18 and I thought, "bleh I'll never be using this", buy I play the Ysera.
Next turn he bursts me for 24 from hand.
Nozari into Alestrasza into 12 damage face from Dragonqueen + Ysera = concede.
Happiness is getting a Nozari off Alex vs a holy wrath paladin who has wasted a wrath earlier in the game, and you have misdirection up for his last truesilver charge.
Pretty proud I managed to turn two battlegrounds game around by anticipating what the opponent was going to do/ have turns in advance.
Game one I saw one of my opponents was also playing dragons. Opponent had a golden razorgore and a normal one. I had two normal ones. We both had a kalecgos and I had a nadia but my opponent did not. I figured that I was not going to outpace mu opponent without a second kalecgos, since we would both just go for all battlecries and since my opponent had a faster growing kalecgos, I would lose. So I leveled to 6 instead of going for battlecries. Searched for second kalecgos which I found thank god, and then started picking battlecries. As expected we were the top two players. When I met my opponent again I lost the first round, but quickly recovered since with two kalecgosses, I grew faster.
In a similar situation today, I encountered another player who was playing dragons like me. What was different was that I was the player with the golden razorgore and my opponent had two normal ones. We both had nadia, but he had a kalecgos while I did not. I figured I was not going to outpace the opponent if I continued on like this. Luckily I had 40 health on my side. My dragon build was already divine shield focused, so when I saw a holy mackerel and primalfin lookout I knew what to do. I prayed for poison but got another mackerel instead (!) so then I picked up a brann and started growing the mackerels. Got unlucky by only getting one bagurgle, and no gentle megasaur or poison, but after two losses I did manage to get my defense high enough to get some decent loops out of my mackerels and win with a dargon/ mackerel mix.
It was the first game I had gotten Soulfire + double Frenzied in hand... I had to go for it
1 Mana: deal 4 damage to your opponent's face and summon two 3/3 demons... seems good
my opponent was also playing Zoo Lock.... they conceded turn 3
One of my favourite recent wins.

Nobody has had a single good game since last week? Damn...
Well I got this awesome board powerleveling with elise. Picked up 5 lightfangs and won.
Well... First time ever I reach this. I'm a contented soul (about this) now.
Finally got my first opp wanna be friends just so he curse the living hell out of me and he *poof*'ed out of existence. Yeah, I did get lucky... on a brawl... really, what did he expect, a 4-piece combo? I was laughing so hard.

Many thanks to Molecule on NA for scooping me into rank 5 on the last day of the season! Much appreciated. :D
Some people said that menagerie builds are dead in BG... I beg to differ.
Deathwing, got a rat on 5 gold and powerleveled all the way to ramk 6 with only a single stop at 9 gold.
I ended up with the following comp:
May not look like much but took down some very, very big dragons. Not only was it one of if not the most powerfull build I ever had, but also the most tier 6 minions in a comp.
This warband is the result of the most insane turn I ever had.
First I powerleveled to tier 5 on 8 gold (You can do this by selling your only minion on 5 gold to level to tier 3)
My dragons were Murozond and Cobalt Scalebane. Murozond gave me the whelp. Not bad not great so far. I found some more dragons. I got the tripple Twilight Emissary and Razorgore, the Untamed shortly thereafter.
Because I leveled so fast, I had to keep my murozond in play for a long time.
And then it happened... I faced off against another dragon player. And then picked up TWO more murozond in the recruitment round after, resulting in the following:
From those goldens I got TWO Kalecgos, Arcane Aspect and a Gentle Megasaur.
All my competition was still at rank 3 or 4. None at 5 and I had been there for a couple of turns already.

Of course, the RNG Gods easily take away as well, but that's stuff for another certain thread :)
I finally reached 500 wins with Warrior and am now a proud owner of the Golden Garrosh :) !
Three wins in a row. I seem to have found a comp that works with my playstyle XD.
Alex is a tiny bit OP though, not going to lie. These were all pretty early wins.
Just casually hitting for 45 dmg
Happiness is getting a Nozari off Alex vs a holy wrath paladin who has wasted a wrath earlier in the game, and you have misdirection up for his last truesilver charge.
It cost me several attemps, but I finally did it, a golden riverdare with golden kaboom bots comp, Dr Boom would be proud.
both the kaboom both and the egg had divine shield+taunt.
Nothing like facing 6 Hunters in 8 matches and doing obnoxious turns of armor gain with Warrior.
Or absolutely shitting on Embiggen Druids who open with Embiggen and double breath early with Mech Paladin.
I just got 5 first places in a row in Battlegrounds! These games took place from 6500 to 7000 ranking, so not super impressive, but for me it is.
Alexstraza: Dragon comp, tripled into Kalecgos early and didn't lose after that.
Fungalmancer Flurgl: Murloc comp (duh), No highrolls, just got to 5 and murloc cycled to victory.
Infinite Toki: Mech Comp, two Foereapers, two Kangor's, Gold Cobalt, managed to beat down a Demon player.
MIllhouse: Dragon/Divine Shield Comp, with a Poisonous Holy Mackerel in there, no contest surprisingly.
Sir Finley: Murloc comp, Curator hero power, got an undefeated Nafarian to rage quit, really fun game.
Having a ton of fun in Battlegrounds recently, couldn't be enjoying it more.
Took me several attemps but I finally did it, I reached the Murloc Valhalla.
Getting that Brann after getting a triple in tier 4 literally carried the rest of the game and I didn't even got a megasaur.
