I think this card is viable due to the larger card pool that HS has due to Nax, BRM, GnG, and now LOE. Yes, you can only run one shredder, one belcher, ect. But the alternatives are many, and dare I say, its kinda fun to run a deck with a variety of cards that would not normally make the cut. This card is going to bring back Hogger, and other borderline legendaries. Its also going to bring back very good cards that are just a small step below the top card for the mana slot.
So I say, all hail Reno, the card that's going to make the game interesting again! F the cookie cutter net decks!
Yes! It is based on the remaining cards in your deck and does not take into account what has already been played or is in your hand. So theoretically you could play a fairly normal deck with plenty of duplicates but wait until late in the game to play Reno to still trigger his battlecry.
Can you have 2 of a card, but if you've drawn or used the first copy, the second doesn't count against Reno?
That's correct, if you run two copies of a card, but use one of them, the Reno effect will work. Its only when two copies of the same card are still in your deck that his effect does not work
I've played a few game with zoo lock, where my opponent played Reno. It seems better than expected, but they still lost quite a few games, as the health did not help establish a board.
Wow! When I heard it worked I didn't believe it, but I have it in a paladin deck and I'm 3-1 at rank 8. One game I had healed for 16 already against a face hunter, was down to 4 when i luckily drew a shielded mini bot, one of two doubles i have (muster for battle).
I think it may work better with warrior thanks to hero ability, gonna try that next

This exactly. I played a mid pally with all one ofs since they have so many great cards and so many usable options.
Reno was cool, and a lot of fun, but if you're behind on board it's not really going to save you and control doesn't really care. Seems insanely good against something like freeze mage but I just don't see building a deck of one ofs as worth it. I'm sure he'll find a place in normal two-of control and fatigue warrior decks as a card you hold until near the end of your deck but he's certainly not an auto win.
Could be good in echo/grinde mage too but I don't think he's as OP as people think. I managed to play him maybe 10 times tonight. In about 7 of the 10 games I did how I think I would have anyway, so he won me about 3 games. But I think another powerful high drop like sylvanas would have done just as well without me having to cut copies of my very best cards.
I'm not saying he's bad and I certainly wasn't using the ideal deck for him but I believe he's a little overhyped.
80 life is too much even for fatigue. And i dont think mage is built to endure it.
Not freeze. It basically punishes decks that hold a limited amount of damage. That's all aggro and combo decks. Tempo, Midrange, and Control don't have that problem. That's WHY they can play zombie chow: +10 health to the opponent means nothing to them.
Thus I can see Tempo mage, once adjusted, to do well against this deck.
man you're stupid. any reno deck couldnt make it past rank 10. sure, it might be great agianst face hunter, but you are going to get absolutely mauled vs. druid, mid range Pally or any control deck at all. what rank are you pray tell?
have you yet to face a single control warrior or handlock playing overpowered cards that you cant answer because you only have 1 of remove spells.
Shield Slam, Execute, Crush, Big Game Hunter, Brawl... And I might start worrying if I actually encounter any handlocks, which have a hard time right now. But yeah, havn't heard many people say it's good vs control. Outside of fatigue decks, that is.
Handlock, hard time. Dark Peddler have a deal for you.

Yup, Reno's home is with Pally. Had success with him stomping out aggro decks.
Well, the only effect Reno had on my game today was that I had to "trade" (No Face! *cry*) my minions into him because of Freezing Trap. But I still face-hunted the warlock down with 26 HP left. So his effect was annoying but it was not destroying the aggro playstyle.
Reno is broken as hell. Ever since I included him in my deck, I haven't lost a single game whatsover. Consecutive wins for hours and hours.
This is once again typically Blizzard: make a card so unbalanced, to increase the likelyhood for people to want that card - thus buy expansion ASAP. I expect this card will be nerfed; I mean, it cannot be like this. I'm not the best player, yet so far I'm undefeated in 30+ games nonstop. Apart from that, once again a card that singlehandedly affects the entire way this game is to be played. And then I haven't even payed attention to the card's additional body yet. I thought the amount of newly introduced RNG was already sickening, but this is just retarded design / greedy approach.
The fanbois can come all they want with their arguments on how he's bad, or "not always good" or perfectly balanced and well-designed. It does not and will not change a thing in the results I'm getting. Once again a single card deciding the entire gameplay for everyone. Congratz Blizz, you did it again. You won't get my applaud when you fix this intentional greed.
No way. It's good against aggro IF you can draw him before dying. Otherwise it just diminishes your deck against all of the other archetypes. I play it solely on ladder from rank 20-5 where you see nothing but Facetards. I can still only muster a 60% win, which is only slightly better as playing any non-reno deck. The only reason I play it is to troll the facetards.

Priest (60) / Warrior (49) / Hunter (47) / Mage (45) / Warlock (36) / Druid (35) / Shaman (34) / Paladin (33) / Rogue (19)

There is no rl, just afk.
The fact that so many people are getting results from Reno vs aggro simply shows how poorly done the tutorial is.
Blizz should have just done a better tutorial on how to play the game, then aggro wouldn't have been such a big issue in the first place.

Sadly, I don't even know what Reno Jackson's attack voiceover is, cause only when I play him my opponents concede...
