tired of having to press the squelch button at the beginning of every single game. I was tired of hearing 12 year olds spam well played. especially later at night, I tend to face the same idiots like 3 or 4 times, spamming well played, so i started insta squelching everyone, but its super annoying.
If you find right clicking a portrait and squelching after mulliganing annoying, I suggest making your complaint directly to the developers through the official forums. However, I will save you the trouble by telling that I tweeted this question directly to Ben Brode and his response was that it will not be added as they do not want to clutter their options menu.

Nozdormu wins you every game where you opponent has to go to the bathroom on turn 9.
third, I squelch everybody(if I remember to) at the start of every match. Tired of the people spamming "Well Played" and the "Sorry" command when they manage to make any decent play, or using the "Oops" command when I make a mistake to say "that was a mistake". I know it was a mistake, you don't have to !&%?ing tell to me, you're not my !&%?ing mentor. I've been tempted to just deliberately let the clock run out every time they do that at times, because if you're gonna be BM to me; I'm gonna be BM back. I had somebody use the "Well Played" command when somebody brought out their Ysera because they know he's OP.
I sincerely hope that the developers read these forums. Blizzard seemed very keen to make people 'feel good' about playing the game. No discard effects because that "gives people negative feelings" and what not. I get it.
However, I am definitely on board not only with a perma squelch option, but an icon that appears near your name to let you know you have been squelched. Not only does this save time for the over spamming emoter as they now see their comments will not get through so they wont waste their time doing it, but I will not have negative feelings when I forget to squelch them and they make a snide emote.
As far as my mileage goes, I am far less irritated by discard mechanics and other things that might cause 'negative feelings' as they would be part of the game play itself regardless of the person on the other end. The over use and often (real or implied) negative connotation in which the emotes are used cause me more negative feelings than any discard or similar mechanic ever would. This is how I feel and I would be surprised if others did not share similar views judging by the amount of threads and comments of a similar nature on these forums.
TLDR: Ben, for the love of whatever deity or cosmic force you revere....one more option will not kill us. Please give us perma squelch and an icon to let the player know when they are squelched. Many joy joy feelings will follow.
It's like they are marketing this game for mindless apes. Why not just make the game all about bananas. One extra button on the options menu would anger us simple minded banana eating poop throwing simpletons.

I forgot to squelch literally one time last night. It was vs the OTK mage, and of course he spams "thank you" after doing his 30 dmg to the face combo on the very final turn he could stay alive. about rage threw my computer thru the window.
Also, does anyone have a POSITIVE opinion about the emotes? Like can anyone say "yeah those emotes enrich the game for me and make it a more enjoyable experience, and I would be disappointed if they were removed"?
I greet everyone before every match and somehow they stop behaving like kids. Sometimes, they even emote well play before conceding. I think people have to learn to accept defeat graciously and try not to make opponent feel bad when they win. After all, no matter how good you are, you have to lose at some point.
I know it should be on the official forums and everything, but yes please, really need that option. As for them not wanting to clutter the settings menu that's just ridiculous.

I'm so glad there is prejudice against playing hunter/zoo/[insert FotM deck here]. People like that make the life so much easier for those of us who play to win.
I honestly have no problem with people using emotes, unless they're just spamming "Well met!" ad nauseam.
tomarkthegreat: If you're going to get that mad over one little emote, I think that speaks volumes about your maturity.
hahahaha, your statement is rife with irony.
One emote isn't bad; spamming them is a little annoying, but I honestly don't think it's anything to get worked up about. You, on the other hand, wanted to throw your computer out a window just because of a single "thank you".
Its ironic because you posted on a forum about a video card game with a my little pony avatar, and felt the need to deride someone over the internet about their maturity. Very mature. You can tell someone is a real bona fide adult when they let everyone else know how much less of an adult they are. And as an aside, maybe one day you will learn what a hyperbole is.

Did I ever claim that I was mature? I could be 10 years old for all you know.

That's the dumbest thing I ever heard.
iknowright.
But that is their opinion on the issue at the moment.
At least we can still do it manually.

I wish I could remember to squelch every game. I try to make a habit of it but I still forget half the time =(
They just need to have thoughtsteal auto emot "thanks" to save priests time. Squleched or unsquelched I still have to wait for them to click it...
